Ever wondered which chainsaw stands up best in a real-life durability test? We’re about to find out! In today’s ultimate showdown, we’re not just pressing random stuff - we’re testing the might of chainsaws in a battle of endurance and toughness. We’ve rigged our hydraulic press to challenge these chainsaws like never before, ensuring everything is safe with Kevlar reinforcements and polycarbonate shields.
We're not stopping at chainsaws though; we're throwing an angle grinder into the mix to see how it holds up against our heavy-duty contenders. Will it cut it, or will the chainsaw reign supreme? Watch as we push these tools to their limits with close-up action shots and slow-mo’s that capture the raw power and precision at play.
Stay tuned till the end to see the aftermath and hear our thoughts on the surprising outcomes. Don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe for more intense tool tests and high-power hydraulic press action. We’ve got a ton of metal-bending, spark-flying action coming up, and trust us, you don’t want to miss what we’ll crush next!
And don't ever try anything like this at home! Chainsaws are really dangerous tools and shouldn't be played with!

Do not try this at home!! or at any where else!!
Music Thor's Hammer-Ethan Meixell
I didn't expect the disc to turn into sawdust. I expected it to shatter. Just shows how important it is to conduct those experiments!
I predicted the same
High quality grinder blade to not shatter with an impact like this, I am impressed. Would be interesting to know what firm they bought it from.
This is just stupid!
I would like to see the same test, but with a diamond wheel on the grinder instead of a fiber cutting disc.
The chain keeps popping off the bottom one because that is the slack part of the chain. The top saw is always going to win because the engine is pulling the chain from the tip across the bottom. If you could somehow run the bottom chainsaw backwards, it would be more of a fair fight, or flip the bottom saw upside down.
www.youtube.com/@DGS-KZhead.
Exactly my thoughts! Bottom of bar to bottom of bar is a fair test.
I was going to say the same.
Yeah this. Mount he bottom one upside down.
Came to the comments for this!
This was far less violent than I thought it would be, but just as awesome!
I had also really high hopes for amount of violence with these one :D
kind of reassuring. Good chance you would survive if a chain broke.
I had such high hope for the "Professional NON-SAFETY" chain. 😆
Me too! I was so delighted when I found it from the shop :D
@@HydraulicPressChannel Seems like something Timo would have. 😄
I don’t own a chainsaw but I still want to buy that chain!
Yes, I was also disappointed after that high of a "praise" on the package. Just goes to show you can't trust a single ad.
@@HydraulicPressChannelA He he he
Hope you enjoy this important science video :D
Do the chainsaw vs a chainsaw grinder wheel.
Drill vs drill, head on, different sizes of drills?
This is the content I love about your channel!
I appreciate the irony, thank you!
Very science-y. Nobel Prize incoming.
Try again with the blades lined up! Might be a lot more chaos with chains opposing each other instead of perpendicular 🙃
yeah as soon as I saw they were angled towards each other I knew it was just going to pop off. Would have been more interesting with the saws facing each other.
I think if you had them in a '69' configuration it would be even more violent and messy and possibly the whole think would go up in flames !
YES!! And turn one upside down
@@blue04mx53exactly my thought
@@blue04mx53 69 position always messy 😏
Two grinders with those insane chainsaw discs would be cool to see a matchup of
Those things induce so much anxiety just looking at the adverts.😂
I think the problem with the chain jumping off is the lateral bending of the saw blade - you could, I'm sure, reinforce the saw blade on both sides with big chunks of angle iron welded to the blades or bolted through them to prevent lateral flex...
It's derailing the chain. Pulling it off the guide and throwing it off the sprockets. I believe it's because of the bottom saw is trying to cut on the up swing, blah blah physics blah kinetic energy blah rotation blah energy transfer blah derailed... Understand?
I don't believe a stabilized rail would do any better. I believe both saws need to be cutting on the draw side of the blade or it will derail the pushing chain every time.
The pulling side of the chain gets drawn into the sprocket, the pushing side is being pushed away from the sprocket. See my technical answer above.
If you flip the bottom saw I believe the top saw will derail due to the bottom saw having the advantage of gravity but maybe not due to centrifugal force but it still affects it in a positive way.
try turning the bottom one upside down.
This is the kind of quality videos I come here for! Love it!
That was a great fight! Thank you Laurie for all the crazy entertainment you bring us!
Updated Multiple Remote Control system and Chainsaw Brake cables would make Rube Goldberg say "What da Fak!" 👍
Awesome content, keep it up, HPC. 😁
This will be awesome! Hey dude! Your smile always makes me smile but I haven't watched you for a while so I've got some catching up to do. Thanks for the videos ❤
Thanks for kind words!
@@HydraulicPressChannel They are true words my friend!
You have a sick, twisted mind and I'm here for it. Never stop.
Circular Saw versus Circular Saw - then you could test different blades, different tooth count etc. Regardless, you're plenty entertaining - thanks for that, keep it up :)
That was awesome! Love your videos guys!!
The ideas this channel comes up with never stop to amaze me 😂 I am curious to see how a Drill drilling into another drill would go though (one drill bit drilling into the other spinning drill bit but perpendicular to it, like you did here. I am not sure how to type this to make sense at all hah.).
Loved the addition of music to this one!
Awesome as usual
this deserves much more views !
the way the grinder disc just vanished was really cool! i love these videos because we never really know what will happen,
Great fast way to sharpen my chainsaw chain! Will have to give that a try!
thank you for the content!
Great video! Next one do circular saw vs circular saw!!
I wasn't underwhelmed at all! I really had fun watching.
Beautiful video! ❤❤
I think the chain jumping on the bottom saw is because it is hit on the top side where the chain has slack whereas the upper saw engages with the bottom part of the blade (the one you usually use when sawing) where the chain has tension. Thanks for your fun videos and greetings from your neighbor in west 🇸🇪😄
This was incredible to witness! Your channel brings such outstanding, unique content. 😁
Circular saw vs Chainsaw ! Would have been terrifying!
This was VERY COOL!!
Classic KZhead idea!!! Yes!!! Oh my God the grinder was so much cooler than I thought it was going to be
This is great!
So good. The heavy metal added that much needed spice to the video. That grinder wheel slowly disappearing was awesome. Never saw that before in my life
I have only seen grinder wheel disappear that fast if it's grinding something that's designed to be harder than grinder wheel like some high quality bicycle locks. I was surprised to find that chainsaw could do it that fast. Unfortunately there wasn't high speed footage to see if the chain chipped away fragments or was it actually converted into dust.
Holy sheet. I saw the thumbnail and i knew i just have to watch this. 👍🏼👌🏼
Oh god I’m so ready for this hahaha
This is what quality content looks like for interdimensional cable
Awesomeness 👌
Outstanding! 😎👍👍
Stump grinder vs Stump grinder would be brutal but also a bit difficult and significantly more dangerous than this (and a stump grinder is too big to attach to the press haha)
Love this chanel
Great videos Mahtavia videoita! Ei kyllästy ikinä ja onnea menestyksestä! Testatkaa kuinka paljon paine tehostaa poraamis ja leikkaamistehoa sähkötyökaluissa ja hommatkaa vaikka Puuilolta konesponssi? Pitempi testivideo sarja puuilolta hommatuilla koneilla. Yksityisviestillä lisää?
GREAT CONTENT, YOU ALSO MAKE SURE THAT SAFETY IS A BIG PART OF ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS, GREAT JOB
Love it! Try it again with the blades in line so the chains are not dragged off.
www.youtube.com/@DGS-KZhead.
Really nice channel
You two are so awesome. Drill press vs battery power drills or impact? Lawnmower with case removed vs watermelon?
“Today we have really cool and stupid video” exactly why I’m here brother 😂
WE LOVE YOU HPC!!!!
You somehow picked the perfect backing track for two chainsaws fighting each other. Great video, as usual!
This is why I love the internet: chainsaw fight 😂!
Sketchy Finland stuff. I dig it.
New season of Chainsaw Man looks great
Music fits very well in this video :D
I have been wanting someone to do this test ever since Gears of War 2 came out. Thank you for making my childhood dream a reality.
Ye boy deff metal & a chain saw fight awesome 😎
Make a video of the impact tools Don't know their exact name but ones that are used to drive bolts into tension
The video was so awesome
Think this would be awesome to see. Grinder Wood Carving Chain Disc
good video, for science ofc, hope you never get out of ideas and able to do it for many years, been watching on and off for few years now i think 👍
Wow that was awesome with some very unexpected results! How about trying a chainsaw vs. a wire wheel!
just looking at the thumbnail.. my first thought.. holy sh!t.. so it could get even worse after grinder fight..well done and thank you:D idea for future video maybe.. bandsaw showdown.?
Awesome.
I thought for sure the disk would explode but because it was spinning the saw just ate it away. The feed speed also helped.
Remote controlled chainsaws is the bestest idea ever.
Wow. You just answered a very important Warhammer question of what happens when you parry a chainsaw with another chainsaw. Apparently one chainsaw loses. Very metal!
I like the sand storm you made.
I don't know what song you used here, but I wonder if you've heard of Children of Bodom (R.I.P.) I may have broached this subject some years ago on your channel, but this video reminded me to do it again, because of the whole Finland thing ;) Also, have you or anyone you know visited the lake?
There are grinder disks available with chainsaw teeth, they might be less likely to have the chain pulled off. It might also be interesting to see a mini chainsaw (like a Bosch Nanoblade), a vibrating saw (like a Fein Multimaster), or an ordinary circular saw in the mix!
I really hope those chainsaw discs are welded tight and not just tensioned around the discs though :D Thats INSANELY dangerous if it could snap and whip at 10 000rpm 😵
-"I put my money on the saw" - "I think saw too" 😂😅
If you adjust the chainsaw angles against each other, would it help the top saw not make the lower saw lose its chain? Or turn one upside down?
Hi, love your videos, Buzzsaw VS Jigsaw or AngleGrinder VS Jigsaw (put the jigsaw horizontally and lower a grinder or a buzzsaw into the running blade of the jigsaw)
Hey I remember this fight from Resident Evil 7, very cool
Epic!
Now I want the chains to fight length wise.
Grinder vs Hanheld Kitchen Mixer!!
Next up, tension side vs tension side, at a shallower angle, with music from the Chainsaw Man anime. Also vs circular saw.
www.youtube.com/@DGS-KZhead.
circular saw vs circular saw! or drills vs drills
Drill vs. drill is coming soon!
What a great title in the thumbnail.
I wonder if, using the slow mo footage, you could calculate the rear handle vibration in m/s(2)? 🤔
Lauri: "I think that's pretty Metal," Hell, yeah!
Who needs a fire extinguisher when you have your very own fire truck. 🚒
Reciprocating saw vs chainsaw!
Super awesome, very scientific! Lol. Maybe try the masonry cutting discs for angle grinders, cheap to well made. The chainsaw on a press concept is wonderfully terrifying, lol.
My Elementary School Teachers: Mad Scientist isn't a viable career path! HPC: Does this.
you should make bottom vs. bottom !
@2:41 Glad to see your using the proper tools for the application.
what kinds of materials can you shove a 25mm drill bit into, not using a drill, just a HSS drill bit plunge it into stuff until it breaks.
Is it possible to mount the second chainsaw upside down so that the bottom side of the blade will touch? Because the sprocket pulls the chain from the bottom it will be harder to knock the chain from the blade.
I hope you have good ventilation!
Always wondered how a chainsaw sword fight would go.
Chainsaw vs one of those thick grinding discs would be cool. Much better chance of the disc surviving.
That had much less spark than I expected!
I was hoping the black hole would materialize :D but no... snap :D extremely cool video :D
This is insane, Lauri. Also, I edited an image of you with a famous video game character recently.
I expected to see the grinder wheel get shattered but what happened was pretty cool. For the saw vs. saw, it seems that whatever saw is on top will win, as the tension is higher with the chain going back into the drive motor. If you want to try it again, I'd arrange it so that the undersides contact each other, so the tension on each is highest.
Try a handheld bandsaw at the bottom vs Chainsaw
grinder vs reciprocating saw
This is next level. You could have a whole series of "Chainsaw vs xyz". Perhaps different types of discs on the grinder, "Can a Chainsaw (with carbide chain) Sharpen a Knife?" "How Much Sheet Metal Can a Chainsaw Cut?" Options are endless lol
I think you could have tried to make chainsaw blades hit near the tip. The area where the chain changes the direction at the tip is constantly pulled tight thanks to the g-forces in the chain and therefore shouldn't skip sideways that easily.
Try the grinder wheel test again without the chain moving. Very different result for sure!
Circular saw VS Power drill!!
