  • Recommendation to do it at home: use a large plastic cup such as a liter and use it as a measurement system, the basic proportion is 1 CEMENT and 2 SAND OPTIONALLY you can ADD 1 TO 3 PARTS OF CRUSHED ROCK OR GRAVEL If you do not want to leave the floor or the table with traces of cement, you can use a container as shown in the video or prepare the mixture in a bucket

  • This is really good, but also I simply use a grocery bag with canned foods in it. Yes, it has a different center of gravity than a barbell, of course. But it's something. I take special pride in spending zero on workout equipment (or anything for that matter).

  • ...the sad part of it,that the concrete will give you about 1/4 of the weight of steel dumbells.The result will be big chunky of clumsy weight. As an alternative will work.

    • yes,but.the good part is that its gonna cost 1/8th of that of steel. Use other shapes instead of balls to make it slimmer. Add some scrap metal/gravel etc n make it heavy. whole purpose of the video is for people who cant afford products with fancy prices!

    • Yes but weights are like houses atm stupid prices, no one is paid enough in their job to afford a traditional setup after price gouging Unless you know how to do metalwork and forge weld from scrap metal, you've got nothing, unless you seek alternatives

    • Would definitely be better just to get a big sandbag, fill it with the desired amount of sand and rocks and lift that instead of wasting time buying plastic pipes and cement in order to make clumsy 8 pound dumbbells or whatever. One big weight lifting sandbag can be curled, rowed, shrugged, pressed (to some degree), lifted, squatted and thrown, and you can progressively add weight as you go along. 🤷‍♂️

    • You can use any diameter as long as it is the same on every ball and the pipe also should be of same diameter
