  • Hi Bobbi, you are delight to watch, even the silly outtakes 😜 I am knitting the roscoff for my granddaughter. She lives in Hawaii and I don't have much of an opportunity to give her knitware. I am using yama linen merino. The pattern is written rather than chartered which is unfortunate. If you make a mistake it is hard to read the knitting, whereas if also chartered you could see where you stitches should align. I plan to make a winter ILHA, thanks for the inspiration.

We moved here a month before the quarantine shutdowns began so its like we're still brand new to the area. However, I did discover a great yarn shop in Northern Huntsville called Fiber Artwork, the owner, Nina, is very nice and they have a great selection of yarn. You might already know about it since you've been here longer, but I figured I'd pass it along just in case. I'm going to check out the Sandes Garn Line cotton you mentioned next time I head up to Nashville. I haven't found many cotton yarns that I like and am always searching. • Hi Bobbie, I’m not sure if you are aware, but I thought I would mention it just in case you haven’t heard of this. A few knitting podcasters share that instead of using Spincycle they use Zauberball yarn which has long color changes and different spun yarn twisted together like Spincycle. Now I’m not sure about what weight(s) they have, but I’m going to look into that also, down the road here shortly. I’m going to have to knit the Ilha first. I like the look of it better and the additional touch at the hemline to tie things together.

  • Just fyi - i knitted the florencia and in my size the pattern has uneven spacing on either side of the raglan. It was annoying because its bottom up and I couldn’t see that until the very end.

  • I just saw your podcast for the first time a few weeks ago. I’m from New Jersey but was down in Nashville for a wedding and went to Haus of Yarn and bought my yarn for the Ilha. I’ve finished the yoke, but don’t understand the sleeve part. Do I cut the yarn, slip the 40 stitches, put in the markers and then continue in the round knitting the stitches that I had put on the right hand needle?

    @path9570@path95708 ай бұрын
    • Hello. I’m looking at the Ilha pattern. Could you tell me what part of the pattern you are referring to? Are you ready to start the raglan shaping? 😊

      @knitterskniche@knitterskniche8 ай бұрын
    • Yes, I’m starting the raglan shaping and it says break the yarn and put 40 stitches on your right hand needle and continue putting your markers for the sleeves. I understand that. However when you get back to the 40 stitches that you slipped onto the right needle, do you just pick them up and knit normally? I couldn’t understand why you cut the yarn and moved those 40;stitches.

      @path9570@path95708 ай бұрын
    • Ok. I think you are knitting the smallest size. Yes, you need to cut the yarn, because you are changing where the beginning of round is. This will put the beginning of round at the middle of the armpit. Slip the first 40 stitches from the left needle to the right needle. Place the beginning of round marker on right needle. Add new yarn by knitting the next 37 stitches, place another marker. The rest of the markers need to be a different color than the beginning of round marker. Follow the rest of the directions for that round. 😊

  • You have put Sandes Garn Line as the yarn for Ilha. Line is worsted wt. Tynn Line is fingering wt (which is what pattern calls for). Did you really use worsted wt?

    @diblust53@diblust537 ай бұрын
    • Yes, I used the worsted weight Sandnes Garn Line. This yarn was used by 5 other knitters in the projects shown in Ravelry. I researched the yarns used before I chose to knit with the Line worsted weight. I knit a size smaller and it worked out perfectly! Thank you for commenting and watching! 😊❤️

  • Short rows in the renauculus in the front?

    @kcshawart@kcshawart9 ай бұрын
    • Yes. The front and back. I know, it’s usually just the back. The neckline is large, almost a boatneck. By having short rows in the front it raises the neckline up so it fits better. Some people have eliminated the short rows in the front. Thank you for watching. Have a great day! Here is the link in Ravelry ravel.me/ranunculus-3

  • It is frustrating to watch your video without show notes. I suggest you wait to upload your video until you have your show notes done. 😢 Also, you may want to watch where you put writing on the screen. If you put it too low it will not be visible if the person watching your video is using their phone for viewing. I hope you don’t take my comments as criticism. I like your videos and only want to suggest things that may improve them so you will get more viewers (and keep the ones you already have).
