What's up Nerdgasm fans? Today we're reviewing a new gaming headset from Sennheiser called the Gaming Series G4ME ZERO. As you would expect these earn the Sennheiser name by having an amazing sound and power handling and the microphone though a bit tricky at first proved to be one of the best noise cancelling microphones I have ever used. When you're gaming it's more important to hear clearly then anything and these achieve that goal perfectly. Also I was really surprised at how much these come to life when paired with a Mayflower Objective2 Headphone Amp. I would really suggest it as a good entry level headphone amp to mate with these to really get their potential if you don't already have a sound card capable of pushing a high ohm headset.
Specifications
Closed back design featuring tailored leatherette double layered memory-foam ear pads for maximum acoustic seal to block outside noise
Modern, lightweight yet robust design featuring XXL ear cups incorporating Sennheiser's model specific transducer technology delivering extreme sonic clarity and accuracy (150-ohm)
Crystal-clear conversations ensured with the professional quality noise-canceling microphone that automatically mutes when boom arm is raised
Foldable design featuring a volume control located on the right ear cup and braided fabric cable
Two year warranty
Q: The microphone sounded a little flat?
A: I found after the video if you turned the gain down on the camera a bit and put the microphone closer to your mouth it was a more natural sound, but the noise cancelling does take a little warmth away from the voice but to kill the background noise it's freaking amazing!
Q: In order to get the most out of these headphones, would I need a good sound card and/or a headphone amplifier?
A: Yes. One recommended setup is the 720 dac from Cypher.
Q: How much bass do these produce? Will it rattle your head?
A: These have a good level of bass with fantastic clarity across the full spectrum, both high and low. For gaming, there isn't another headset out there with better audio quality. I would suggest also getting a DAC/Amp or decent soundcard to compliment it to give you an even better experience...If however, you are...
Q: What's the difference between this, and the PC 350 Special Edition? Thanks in advance.
A: It looks like the only difference is the color... The specs and features look identical.

  • Ive had my Sennheiser G4ME ONE headset for about a year now and I can say its the best headset I've ever bought. Its lasted me longer then any other headset that I've gotten before, and its comfort is unparalleled. I honestly quite often forget they are on my head. Plus the sound quality is beautiful, and the mic is top level clarity. The price is worth it on these if anyone is wondering, and I got them around Christmas time for about $190.

  • i have these for 2 years now, - i can wear these for hours! - the cups are comfy and great for people with big ears, they go right over it :D - i combined it with an audioEngine D1 (little amp) because just with the jack it lacks power to get the volume up and give it some extra "umph" on the bass! and with that these are the best headset i've bought combined with a integrated headset which has great quality and doesn't pick up much other noice than just my voice (great for lan party's)

  • 2 questions. How would these work with an Xbox One? I do not wish to use something like an Astro Mix amp. Tried that before and got lots of feedback that was annoying. And can I plug these directly into the wireless chat adapter that plugs into the Xbox One controller if I use one of those 2-1 y splitters? Just wondering if that can drive these headphones. Also can the Xbox One do simulated surround via the chat adapter?

    • Cool Blue i am a gamer mostly :) so for me a good mic is elementary ^^ my other option i was looking at is something like the razer tiamat, though the bass in that should be very low which i find sad when listining to music ^^ but my wife is getting a tiamat that should come one of these days so i can test and try it out :)

  • They seem to have updated the headset. The one I got has a detachable cable and the package comes with two cables in total. - 1x 4-conductor connector - 1x dual 3-conductor connector (1 audio in, 1 audio out as you can see in this video)

    @Xerkrosis@Xerkrosis8 жыл бұрын
    • Xerkrosis Was wondering about that. So you don't have to buy anything extra to use it on a ps4?

      @EagleEye33@EagleEye338 жыл бұрын
    • Xerkrosis I have the updated version too, although the connector seems proprietary so you can't put any old cable on there, which is a shame as the braided cable makes a ton of noise brushing against stuff I would prefer a rubber cable. It is a huge improvement though as I find braided cables can wear easily, so being cable to replace it is nice. They also sell replacement ear pads too, so it should last a long while.

      @jetpil0t@jetpil0t8 жыл бұрын
    • EagleEye33 Nope, you can just swap the cable out for the 1.2m alternate included. Although I don't know the Zero would sound good on a PS4 which I am assuming has next to no power at the jack. Also I don't think the Game One comes with the cable upgrade, so kind of a bit pointless depending on how you look at it.

      @jetpil0t@jetpil0t8 жыл бұрын
    • EagleEye33 A proper amp. Else it'll sound like a $20 headphone. When I got the headset and connected it directly with my onboard-soundcard, I was very disappointed. The same case would be with a PS4.

  • HAH, I see that I already have the same keyboard as you, and I found this video looking for a review on those headsets which I was looking to buy, and it seams to me you have some really neat samsung displays there and I've got samsung displays too and will probably upgrade to a larger samsung setup too.

  • Hi BN, sorry one more question. When you said to hook up to an external amplifier. ....The unit that comes with my Logitech Z-5500's....does that qualify as an amplifier? That's where I always hook up my Bose Quiet Comfort 25's, and my Sennheiser Momentums anyway. Please let me know...I'm curious. . . Not sure if you read posts on your older videos so I'll try to pm you if I can find the link. Thanks bud ;)

  • Well, my headset is a old headset mic (one without a speaker used for call centers) Velcroed to my Monoprice 8323s. It is a good combo, cheap headphones and a free mic with decent quality, very good. Try it.
