Aggressive and furious HORNETS / WASPS attacking my cell phone

Got stung by at least 8 aggressive hornets / wasps (guêpes, frelons), so before destroying the nest, I decide to try a few experiments. They get furious at my cell phone after I shake the nest pretty hard. Had to cover very well even after at least an hour to recover the phone, they were still very aggressive and attacked me, goodness I was well protected.
Enjoy, better than me when they got me the first time, had to take Benadryl for a couple of days to reduce swelling and itching.
Could not machine while on medication cause that caused sleepiness.
Thank you for watching.
Please, comment, like and think f subscribing...
When they see themselves on the phone's camera, they're probably thinking, "look! A rival nest!"
Haha
My dad had an incident with Bald-Faced Hornets many years ago. The snow-plow for our jeep had been sitting in the woods covered with a tarp. Unbeknownst to dad there was a Bald-Faced Hornets nest under there, half attached to the plow and half attached to the tarp. When he whipped the tarp off it ripped the nest in half. Fortunately, he was within about 30 feet (9 meters) of the river, and tossing his wallet and watch on the ground, he dove in, swimming under water as far as he could, coming up for a few quick breaths of air, and swimming under water again. He said it took 4 or 5 underwater moves before they lost interest or maybe the scent. He got away with only a few stings, but it evidently sensitized him, as a single bite from a hornet 30 or 40 years later put him into anaphylactic shock. When the paramedics were putting him into the ambulance his feet were sticking out a bit and they slammed the door on his feet several times, breaking some of the small bones in his ankle. How's that for the Hornet Gods getting revenge at long last?
Those bugs more often than none get nested in machinery or tools, we rarely suspect their presence and get nailed after opening a big nest..... Got my share of bad encounters along my life, every few years at least.... not fun... Your dad if he's still alive, better knock before entering a nest, just in case someone is home... ;)
Dad is gone now (2005) but I think he would appreciate your suggestion.
Peter W.
Peter W. Meek WTF paramedics injured him more than the hornets.
worst paramedics ever
This video with headphones..... *I can almost feel them >_
Get ready to run..... !!! FAST...!! :)
Especially with my surround sound speakers...
Get a huge fly swatter you may need it... lol
Pierre's Garage lol
Same lol. I am wearing my REALLY good headphones and i too, can almost feel them! (>__
Those hornets shoulda just laid low when the old bald dude sauntered by. Those stings rendered the entire nest ex-hornets.
Hornets do not die from a sting. Their stinger does not have barbs like a Honeybee. These are Baled Faced...Blue Faced...or some call White Face. A version of the Yellow Jacket...but twice as mean.
Oh God those are bald-faced hornets Those are nasty they're very aggressive !!
Shouldn't laugh Pierre but the Bart Simpson analogy was spot on! Glad you were well away from cell phone! Vicious buggers those are. I had a similar one couple of years ago - did the night trick but used just the regular 20' Hornet spray - soaked the nest - worked well. I rescued the nest structure and sold it on eBay!!! Amazing construction actually.
Good idea to get the nest on eBay, anxious for next one, at least I'll make more than just Google... lol That's all right that you laughed, I wasn't at the time but now it's funny after I really pissed them off... :)
Good job. I've been stung enough times in my life to know it hurts like hell. Especially when you are stung mutipul times. Nice lip.
Just curious....how much did the nest go for on Ebay?
Bumble bees built a nest in the wall of my brother's garage. His dog decided to take them on and sat outside the nest entrance and ate them as they left the nest. It took him about a month to completely clean out the nest. He sure enjoyed those bees, in spite of a couple stings a day. I never saw anything like it before or since. It was hilarious to watch. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Thanks, John
Dogs are just about every time humans best friends, they protect you from the critters and make you laugh... ;)
Spray and run, that's what I always say haha
Yes Pierre, my dad was extremely lucky. It wasn’t until many years later that we learned just how close it was. That much toxin affected his heart function and back in the early sixties there weren’t the advances we have now. It also affected his nerve and digestive systems and it took years before he was restored to reasonably full health. As for the arthritis thing I have that affliction, especially in my hands. The stings I got last summer didn’t seem to lesson that pain one iota. By the way, Pierre, I truly appreciate your use of the voice mic you wear. I have acute hearing loss caused by mortar explosions in Vietnam and can only understand commentary on television or utube by using a specially equipped headset. I wish other utubers would adopt this simple and moderately priced feature. It helps a lot so thank you.
My arthrosis pains aren't getting any better either... lol Videos with decent sound and light are quite easier to listen in totality, at least more anjoyable since we see and hear better, those concepts aren't so obvious when you just start putting up videos as a non professional creator... Guess that with time we get to learn. Thanks for the nice comments and for sharing some of your personnals and take good care of yourself and your loved ones, Pierre
God. This makes you wonder how some people destroy the nests personally from closest distance without getting stung once. It probably has to do with the wasp species. Glad you are safe. Best regards from Germany.
They only get me when I don't expect them to do so, so rarely when I get them mad or get to destroy the nest.... Those are a pretty aggressive type, you get a little close form the nest and they get you, just for moving too fast... Thanks for comment, Pierre
we call them a ball face hornet very aggressive and as you know feels like you been hit with a ball when they sting glad you are ok those type of hornets can make you sick if you get a enough stings
Got to be over 8 stings for me so far, not that willing to push it further, feel that's quite enough like it is.... They make quite an inflated patch itchy like hell on top of it. Benadryl helps a lot for at least 4 days...
They look like baldface hornets
Wasp grubs Good Bait for Fishing !
The problem id to find a nest and negotiate with the adults for healthy grubs... The ones I had were heavily poisoned ...
Yep I though so LOL, hope your OK :)
Steel CAD Felt better after a little revenge, about 8 bites isn't a pleasant experience... Ouch....!!! lol
Entertaining video, Mr. Fritz Wetherbee looking man
Didin't know mr. Wethebee before you mentionned him, just watched a few of his clips, he's interesting with his facts from the past... Thanks for comment, Pierre
Pierre's Garage Yes I agree, Fritz has many interesting stories from the past. He's been on New Hampshire television for a long time and has won a few Emmy's. He thrives on anything historically significant related to NH or New England.
These are somewhat "easy" to eradicate as they build their nest in plain sight. I have had a wasp-problem too. In my case the nest is always built inside the wall or otherwise unreachable place like attick. Luckily the wasps are stupid enough to use one and only one route in and out of their nest. This makes vacuum cleaner a very effective means to get rid of them. I just place the hose near their flight path and let the vacuum run for maybe half an hour. Some banging on the wall to piss them off so they come out of their nest. They usually attack the vacuum hose which make this really effective. Apparently they die right away as I have never seen them come back from the hose. If the problem persists just repeat the vacuuming the next day. The nice thing here is that the corpses are neatly packaged and can be burned or just thrown away with trashes.
That would be a possible next try if they come back, just hope I don't get stung that time again, those stings have an effect for at least a week...!!! ;)
@@pierresgarage2687 I've never been stung by one before. How bad a sting we talkin?
@@themagicalone00 It all depends on how each individul reacts to their venom, let's say for average people, the sting is a burning sensation lasting up to a dew hours, it will cause a patch where the skin swells, you'll feel that swell being warmer and quite itchy, this is where you may need to use antihistamines to aleviate the itch, this may las up to a week or a little less, this is for average people, but, for more allergic individula be aware of some symptoms like inflation in the throat or difficulties breathing, then, it's serious, you will require some medical attention... In this case I suffered 6 or 7 stings, it was a discomfort for a little less than a week, the swollen patches got to be about 3 inches or 8 cm in diameter, felt like about 1/16 inch or 1.5 mm thick, I took some Bennadryl for about 5 days to reduce the itching and swelling... Not my first attack from multiple wasps or bumblebees, I'm not about to stat liking this any time soon.... 😱😉👍
@@pierresgarage2687 hahaha I don't think I'd personally ever get used to it either! lol Thank god for bee/hornet removers and rehomers. They do individual's like myself a hugeeeee service 😆 And thanks for the reply!
Wow...only a swollen lip! Your lucky they didn't remove your lip...those are beast! I expected a rose bud torch roast to exterminate!
Never mind the rose bud, I waited so long for a large enough shop, not get a chance to torch it down... lol
Nice nest of Bald Faced Hornets! Very, very aggressive and you’re brave to go bear it without a suit on. Glad you weren’t seriously hurt by them.
They got me a little before I got mad and decided to get back at them.... Ouch...!!! If you pass too close from their nest, they think that you're attacking them and get at you very quickly, this is a path we use regularely, so, no way we were gonna get stung all summer long... ;) Thanks for comment, Pierre
I didn't realize we had those in Canada. I've never seen those before.
I just looked these things up. Wikipedia says they can squirt venom into the eyes to cause temporary blindness to disable you. Consider yourself lucky! :-D
What if you get a phone call???? do you answer it? or let it go to voicemail?
Anything but anwser... !!! lol
Hi Pierre ! Oh, I have one too right over my door to the shop ... inside the overhand by the lamp ! I have to live with them a little while because I can't get in there to kill them - I have tried to spray some poison on them, but I can't get INTO the cavity inside the overhang ... so only few of them were killed - I have to do some more attacks ! Fortunately they don't attack me when I enter or leave the shop.
The problem is that they will keep on building the nest until it gets real huge. Is there some kind of straw or tube that could drive the poison closer to the nest? Best time to get them all is at night when they're all home and don't fly around... ;)
Pierre's Garage I'll have to find a way "in" with that poison ...
Félicitations gros frelons BRAVO de plus en plus en france
Si je vous lis bien vous félicitez les gros frelons.... 😱🤣 Bah, vous ne ferriez pas ça... Merci pour votre commentaire et salut à vous en France, Pierre
Found a nest of yellow jackets on my ladder last week. Couldn't find my bug spray so hit them with a can of white spray paint. Went back the next day to check on the nest & it was covered in live white jackets. I used some mineral spirits to bath them. Must have been a soothing bath, they're still sleeping after a week. 😃
Funny sleeping bees... lol Wake them up and make a little video, if it's not too late... lol
Good video Pierre, some of the larger hornets around here are about 4 times that big. Sometimes the size of the wasp means nothing though, its their attitude that matters. I hate those things. The large ones around here look just like those just bigger. LOL
Hi Steve,The size of the beast counts less than the bite itself... Ouch....!!! lol They call the ones in your area "Drones" ... ;) I'm surprised that a machinist form another channel will only watch one of my rare non machining videos, are my machining videos that bad... LOL Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment, Pierre
Pierre's Garage LOL, I watch your machining videos also. Watching a non machining gives a better behind the scenes view that you don't get otherwise. you make good videos that are well edited and thought out. Thanks for sharing.
Wow this is great eye opener in this early morning hour... ;) Also enjoyed watching you use the shaper in some rather creative ways. Cheers, Pierre
Thanks Pierre, I like your machine jacks WIYB video. Nice work by the way. They look very well made .
im 56, and every spring i wonder if this year will be the first time i get stung by anything.
If they keep finding me as often as they do, I think you're gonna be safe, at least for some time... ;) Good luck on the lucky series... And thanks for viewing plus comment, Pierre
RUN FOREST RUN.
With a happy face... lol
Bald-faced hornets. Notorious for aggressive behavior and willingness to chase you a long distance when angry.
You're right about being very agressive, just passing by the nest was enough for them to attack...
Ouch! Pierre, don't f*@% with hornets unless you have a flame thrower. lol
No flame thrower, had to preserve the shop... Had some satisfaction getting them pissed after all the stings... lol
This was a healthy colony of Dolichovespula maculata. A few feet to the left can be seen a nest that was initiated but failed to develop, probably because the queen was lost or killed before worker brood coule be reared.
A bit of sting in this video. Looks like you came out on top in the end. Keep on keeping on.
After about 8 stings, it was about time I got even... ;) Yep.... !!! that was fun....
Did you call your phone to make it ring while they were on it? Probably would have pissed them off more! Haha
Got a ''BUZZZY'' signal... lol
where are you located at brother?
About 1/2 hour from Montreal in Canada.
Smart getting them at night, when they are all in. Bumblebee's, building in the ground out in the hay fields, is our nasty surprise here. Can't count the number of times, while baling, that I've had to cut the tractor off, bail and run like hell. We also have paper wasps and yellow jackets building in machinery, buildings, idle vehicles. Mud daubers generally are not aggressive toward people unless you are a direct threat to their nest, but they create other problems. They plug bolt holes, gearcase vents, vent and fuel lines if you leave them open, and build inside engines. I know of a few that had to pull the head off of their tractors to clean them out. Daubers went down the exhaust pipe, through an open valve and build inside the cylinder. All that dirt, right where you don't want it.
Every few years or so, I regularly get stung by hornets, wasps, bumblebees, etc.... Tired of this..... !!! :( This time I decided to retaliate before the big elimination... :) You're right about the fact they get everywhere you don't need them, mainly tools or machines...
Pierre, I use a shop vac to get rid of these guys. Two inches of soapy water in the can, point the nozzle at their exit (really close), turn it on, walk away for a couple hours. Works every time. You're very brave! Good job!
I've seen that somewhere before, didn't think about it though, maybe next time it would be fun, pick them up and inverse the flow towards a neighbor that is a prick... lol Not that brave but in looking for revenge after all the times I got stung in my life... Grrrr...!!!
You know what? I've been out in our old greenhouse, repurposing it for my wife's egg business, and darned if I didn't just put my hand into a yellow jacket nest! Swollen hand now. And here I was, up on a ladder, trying my best to not fall off, and all I can think of is, "Pierre would be getting out the wasp spray just about now." lol
mark latham The best with wasps or anything that stings, is if you get to spot them before they do spot you... ;)
***** If you're talking about getting back to a neighbor, I happen to have that perfect neighbor right at hand.... lol
I thought I had them all ... Interesting thing though, the hand that got stung lost all symptoms of arthritis which plagues me all the time. Turns out there's a whole cottage industry on bee sting therapy. High price to pay I'm thinking.
you are a very brave man
Sometimes... lol
2:05 is that sound them getting all pissed off?😂
Even worse when on the spot, even got a few more stings that night when I sprayed the foam into the nest, normally it blocks from exiting, but, the rear of the nest was ripped open, they got out and some of them got me again.....
@@pierresgarage2687 that’s why I hate wasps so much. No matter what you do to get rid of them or avoid them they will always find a way to sting you.😂
I gave this video a like for the terrible puns.
It's like getting a C for the effort.... 😊🌈👍
8:30 anyone else see that egg move at the bottom??
Not certain, even after watching a couple of times, they were pretty well sprayed with poison the previous night...
Definitely was jumping around in there
Oh Jesus I was wearing a turtle beach headset when I watched this, I swear it was like they got stuck in them...
Be sure you don't start running for the next pool, at least remove the headset in order to save it... lol Thanks for viewing and comment... ;)
Had those things set up shop just outside my work building in a bush. Nest was just shy of a foot across, and fairly active. Thankfully, the nest was far enough from walkways (and the entrance of the building) that no one got stung. When I went out to investigate the nest about 6 feet away, i had a couple do a couple of them do some fly-bys a little too close for comfort, but no stings. Needless to say, I took their warning and walked away. Maybe these baldfaced hornets were less cranky and aggressive than most.
Guess that day, the "Queen" was in a good mood.... 😉😎👍
the wasps in Quebec look different lol, never seen one black&white like that. had a nest a bit bigger than yours in a tree but only saw it in the fall and was abandoned by then. That raid foam works great though, used it on a few smaller nests and had killed the bastards pretty quick.
We also get the yellow ones, those are more like the hornet type, pretty aggressive kind, they bite viciously. This time I decided to really piss them before the final solution... ;) This time the back of the nest was open from my intervention, they were escaping from there that night... Normally the foam will keep them from exiting. Oupseeee...!!!
since I have no idea what i'm talking about when it comes to wasps and hornets I googled it - apparently the ones you had were indeed wasps but they are called (by mistake) the "bald face hornet", and then there's wasps which are yellow jackets and paper wasps (with yellow markings) - But even looking at a bunch of pictures I doubt I'll be able to tell the difference :)
With that foam spray ..you just sprayed the outside only? And nice job
Inside also, but the nest was ripped open in the rear so the hornets would come out through there also, normally in an intact nest, if you spray the foam inside they stay there cause they die instantly when in contact with the foam... Thanks for your comment, Pierre
@@pierresgarage2687 you are welcome and thanks for the information.
You're welcome... ;)
This is what the ape men in 2001 space odyssey must’ve felt like when they encountered the monolith
Oh....!!!! I didn't know the monolith was filled with hornrts, I must have slept that part........ 😪😪😪😴😴😴😴😁🤣😂
Ive been stung by bald faced hornets I know how bad they are, FYI you resembled Homer, not Bart.
I know I've mistaken the name, but, it doesn't hurt less for that.... 😒😒😉 Thanks for your comment...
Nasty suckers. They were there for quite awhile with a nest that big. Spray first and ask questions later is my policy.
It took them the time of a vacation to California, imagine them at work while I was struggling trying to make a decent intro to your video... lol Heard that you're Grandpa again, congrats...!!!!
While hearing them a fly landed on me and i jumped high!
Lol...!!!
Yep, gave me the heebie-jeebies when I had to go outside and a dang Kissing Bug landed on me! I have the Basset Hounds trained to keep them away from me. I am highly allergic and consider it war on Wasps! Spearmint Essential Oil is 100% effective against these critters and their nests.
Philosophically Inclined If you are allergic then you have to keep clean of troubles with those fighters! I am not allergic but whenever I see their nests I leave
@@alexandrossotiropoulos5621 Run! Forest Run! Except I heard that agitates them!?? Just before 9-11, I was riding my mare, and we switched ditches because of the wind, dry weather, and an oncoming 4 horse trailer ... We stirred up a Yellow Jackets nest, and they attacked en masse' - both of us. I was dragged for a half mile because I wouldn't let go of those reins! She could run faster! Ended up waiting for the ambulance, all broke up and stung a good many times. Took me 18 months of pure John Wayne grit just to walk straight. I walked out of that damn hospital 10 hours later after they got my heart started a few times on the trek there. My mare made it thru too with over 200 stings. She was a mess.
Philosophically Inclined i hope this will never happen again! I had also an incident with yellow jacket wasps. When I was a kid I lift a big object from the ground and underneath there was a wasps nest! It gave me the freaks and I dropped it. Two wasps emerge and then a swarm was formed. I ran and I escaped with only 3 stingers. The pain unimaginable! Later on there was an another incident! I entered an abandoned basketball field and all of a sudden I heard a loud buzzing from behind! And guess what! There was a big nest full of bees! They were flapping their wings as a warning! I didn't run and I left slowly. No stinging this time. So if they come to you just to see, you do not flap your hands and walk back steadily and do not kill any wasp. Now if a swarm is formed, we run!
Wow...there's that huge nest, but what about the other two small ones starting onto the left of it...? What part of the country do these dwell? I'm in Long Island, I've never had that "pleasure" of meeting these.
There was nothing in the smaller nests, the hornets being more agressive probably chased the wasps away... Here it's about 30 minutes from Montreal in Canada, nice place to live when no nasty hornet forbid you from using your ladder... ;)
I know this is an old comment but we have plenty of bald faced hornets right here on the island.
There are a few tone generator apps you can download and play any frequency you wish. Im willing to bet there are a few frequencies yellow jackets cant stand. Good experiment.
I never hard about that but it sure could be possible....
@@pierresgarage2687 The neat thing about tone generators is that some have mutiple tones to mix. You can get some real ear peircers by just having the right combo. Ill see if I xan find the one I had. They had one that was supposed to rid rats and mosqitos. But they were so hi pitched I couldnt hear them and i needed to use the phone anyways. Lol
Nasty vespids. Commonly known as bald faced hornets. I got my introduction as a youngster throwing rocks at a nest. Big mistake! They put a beat down on me I will never forget. Interestingly enough I know them better now.
Things that lots of did, sometimes purposely, some other times by accident, the results are the same.... OOOOUCH...!!! lol Thanks for comment, Pierre
Pierre They are the most furious type of hornet. Had a nest in the shed and started the lawn more . O Tabernac those little F^&kers followed me me every where got stung twice in the leg and they leave a sting like getting a hit with the squash ball and takes a few day for swelling to go down.. I hope you feel better after those stings. Fred
You're right about the swelling, add the itching also, needs about 4 to 5 days with Benadryl to keep it under control, like you say they want you and they get you... Ouch....!!!! For all those time I got bit in my life, this little retaliation cession did me some good....... ;)
Guess you know a few people from Quebec, "Tabernac" there is more but this is a great one.... lol
My last encounter with these beasties...Our outside deck is a high one, I walked by the tallest side and one popped me on the top of my balding head! Went down to the garden, got a 10' cane pole my wife had cut for a bean pole, tied a rag on the end of it, soaked it with kerosene, lit it off, and held it up to the entrance. Burned the nest out and burned the wings off of every one of the buggers that came out of nest. Did a little stomping dance and finished them off!
Better stay away from their nest, they're work and no play.... 😒🌈👍
Bald Face hornets are common in west central Illinois where I grew up. The largest I ever found was 26 inches long and 19 1/2 inches in diameter at the largest point. No, I didn’t disturb it. I waited until winter when the nest was empty then retrieved it. I gave it to the science teacher at our local high school. We also have what we call “paper wasps” which build a flat nest with the cells exposed on the bottom. They can be viscous too but the sting isn’t as violent as the hornet. As you now know the hornet slams the stinger in then repeats. Feels like you’ve been hit by a Mack truck! The paper wasp nests can be huge. I was once riding a horse in a remote timber grazing area counting a cattle herd. As the horse bolted up a steep incline I looked up and saw a huge nest about three feet from my face. I immediately grabbed the saddle horn and slipped to the side of the horse. Had I not done that both the horse and I would have been viscously attacked. Hard to tell how that would have ended. Bumble bees are common too. With them I was not so lucky. As a boy I was playing in a friends barn in the hay loft. After a couple of bottles of root beer we both had to piss. Naturally we went to the corner of the loft and causally began to relieve our bladders. Suddenly we both had incredible pain in our wankers! We both had peed directly into a bumble bee nest in the hay. Both of us exited the barn out the upper hay door about 20 feet from the ground. Those bees chased us for two blocks. I was stung 17 times. Twice on the portion of my body that was ejecting the liquid that so offended the bumble bees. Later, as a teenager we would hunt for bumble bee nests and stir them up and fight the bees with ping pong paddles or badminton rackets. Stupid, I know, but it gave us a thrill.
Those are expereinces we remember all our life...!!!! ;) This bad encounter isn't the only one, had my share of stings along my life, always painfull... lol The worse day was, ground wasps in the morning and bumble bees in the afternoon, more than 10 stings in all, one week later I developped a reaction all over my body, all my skin was swolen, red, warm and itchy, I lived on Benadryl for the whole week, needless to say I was quite useless at anything...
Pierre, When I was 10-12 years old my dad was a honey producer which is a misnomer because the bees produced the honey. Anyway at our peek we had 2000 plus hives scattered throughout Illinois in apple orchards and clover fields. Needless to say getting stung was just an occupational hazard. There are many stories I could share about those three years but the final story was a life changing event for my dad which resulted in the sellout of the business. One night we were in the process of moving hives from one orchard to another. Dad prepared the hives for transport and my brother and I took them to the next pollen sight and unloaded them. While we were gone dad was nailing the slats on the hive sections to prevent them from separating. Usually at night the bees are tranquil and rarely leave the hive. That’s why we moved them after dark. As my dad was nailing the slats on one hive he must have jarred the hive to the degree that the queen was disturbed enough to leave the hive. Where the queen goes the entire population of her hive follows in a swarm. She apparently landed on dad and the entire hive of angry bees swarmed on his body. There was no way to count the number of stings. He began walking and finally found a small enclosed building to get into and the bees finally left him. We were always told in the event we got jumped by a hive to get in a small enclosed space and the bees would seek to exit the enclosure be it a small room, a vehicle or the old outhouse my dad finally found. It was touch and go for awhile whether he would survive the incident. He did but was hospitalized for twelve days until they could get the toxins from the stings out of his body. He was warned that any future stings could possibly be fatal so the business had to be sold. He did, in later years, get stung occasionally and it always made him sick for a few days but was nothing compared to that night.
Your dad was lucky to survive that many stings, also that he kept calm and knew what to do... Seems like tha the more we get stung the more toxic it gets, never a good experience, though... Not sure it can be believed, that bee stings are good if you suffer from arthritis. Sounds more like an urban legend.
They are called The Bald Faced Horent. Not really a horent but the size
GET THAT PHONE YA BLASTED HORNETS
They got it...... !!!! For about an hour... lol
I'm sure they had it coming.
So much for the advice "just stay still, don't run and don't flap your arms"... that phone isn't running, it isn't flapping its arms and it's perfectly still... and they're attacking it like hell!!!
Those are really aggressive, they attacked me just as I was walking by to go behind the garage... They had to go... !!!!! 🚑😎👍
Yep, had to deal with them more than enough growing up on the farm...they always seemed to think the farm machinery stored outside was a good spot to nest. Mom and dad were both allergic, so my brother and I had to take care of them mostly. The one at the back of the silage box we could get the diesel fuel back to it, so we took the risk of a hole in the back corner and used a shotgun to knock down the nest.
You're right about them nesting in thing useful to humans, this isn't the first time I get nailed by many stings at the same occasion, geeeezzzz I hate it.....!!!!!! I usually get them at night when they don't fly anymore, I use the foam killer product by Raid, this time the back of the nest was open due to my little fun attack, normally the foam blocks the door and they stay in the nest untill they die...
damn ya'll got some big wasp up there, when I was a kid we used to see hornet's nest all over here in the south, not so much anymore, be careful
I was told those are more the hornet type, this time I decided to retaliate before the elimination... :) That night got stung on an ear lobe again... ;)
you took it well, I never heard you holler!
Oh hell no you’re brave
they had to go, kids are passing right there, and, there was a little bit of revenge for hem attacking me before... ;)
Bro there was like 3 nests holy shit
I have that same phone, the space sucks on it through
Those phones do ok for what I use it for, I don't consider myself as a phone power user, though... Anyway, better the phone get stung than me... lol Thanks for comment, Pierre
yow, not something we see here much in australia. we dont have hornets. jsut about every other imaginable deadly animal but no hornets. lol. thanks for showing us
Every few years they nest in those ladders, every few years I get stung, and every few years they get killed..... And so on.... ;)
Scout your property each May and knock them down while still small. The Queen builds alone and it's several weeks before workers emerge to take over. Check those areas where they nested before as well as eves, cellar or attic windows, sheds, garages, under decks and on porches. Also look over picnic tables and playscapes at this time. I live in Ct, so look earlier in southern states. Make a note on next years calendar! Last year we found 2 white face and 2 yellow jacket nests in May by checking throughout the month.
thats so surprisingly easy to kill. why some make the hassle to vacuum them??
Hi Alex, I think that if you go through that much trouble is maybe later you may want to reverse the flow and send the buggers into the dryer output of a pesty neighbor... lol Thanks for comment, Pierre
When I was about 6 I was always afraid of the dark, and my Grandma's garage didn't make things better xD I remember walking in there to hear bees, I wasn't tall enough to reach the light switch and no way was 6 year old me gonna go venture out to the backup switch so some imaginary monster could come and eat me whole, so whenever I went in there I'd look around anxiously, at the foot of the door of course, and always see a bee nest, my Grandma was too old to deal with it but it didn't really bother her, around 7 I finally reached the light switch and I used to throw rocks and other stuff at them for months until one day it fell and broke on the floor. Woopsies.
I'm regularly get hit by wasps or bees or whatever, what a drag...!!! I usually get even though... Thanks for sharing, Pierre
Pierre's Garage Thankfully, I'm in England so we don't see many, but yeah, go show those flying death machines who's Boss >:D
just read title, this should be good
This sounds absolutely horrific in my galaxy buds AND THIS ISNT THE ASMR THAT'S RELAXING.
Just relax I'm the one who got bit...!!! 😁😁😁👍
White faced hornets, super aggressive and probably the most aggressive in WNY, and I hate them so much, because they are everywhere up here during the summer
You're so right about them hating everything that upsets them, they attack first and maybe do the talking later... Got to get the nest down before they get too big... Thanks for comment, Pierre
also known as bald faced hornet.
Those wasps and their nest looks totally different than wasps we have here in California.
Was in California during the construction of that nest.... What a coincidence... !!! Do you get the smaller yellow and black ones or the mud daubers?
We get the yellow ones that make a thing that looks like a honeycomb cover with wasps. Mud daubers are here, but I never see them.
Hornet wants to know your location.
Shhhht....!!! 😀😎
448. Who just walked in front of the camera? Did anyone notice that?
I think you caught a ghost on film!
Sounded like the bees got louder when it came near. How strange.
That could only be a hornet passing in front of the lens, surely no ghost... Even if it could look like it.... ;)
Are you sure? Watching your video, none of the other bees made that kind of motion on your camera and I noticed a disturbance when it got near. They became extremely aggressive. Very strange. Thanks for the reply and the video. I believe in ghost. One tried to kill my mom's friend. Tried to hang her with a noose. Who even knows how to tie one anymore? Take care friend.
gopro audio quality is bad because of the case not the mic its self but yeah that zoom feature would be nice
And a more reasonably suited price for the actual value of the product, a complete camera with decent sound, zoom, excellent low light quality and a mointor sels for around $200 to $300, why should I pay $600 for something so much less on all aspects... ??? Greedy company.... ???
i can agree on most things but you also have to remember that the go pro is an action cam not a regular video camera with a display, the price is defiantly steep and i'm sure it doesn't cost much to make so yeah defiantly greedy but for the quality of the picture its self and the fact that if its in its case its hard to break (Droping,Blunt Force) but yeah that's just one thing to remember that it is an action cam so just remember that some features wouldn't be there also consider with certain models it does output a wifi signal so you can use your smart phone with the app as a monitor but like you said *price* because you pay more for that feature
Dang I got stung a couple times just watching!
Get a little closer just like I did and you may feel the heat... lol
Bald Faced Hornets (Dolichovespula Maculata) These are Mildly aggressive in my opinion these are not aggressive unless you do this to them. I have never been stung by them. They will warn you if you are too close unless you bang on the nest. like this. if you piss them off like this though they can have a nasty temper. if you do this constantly like 3 times a day they will get used to it and not attack.
The nest was on a path kinda close to the nest, they probably felt we were too close for their comfort, I didn't want to risk a child or another person to be attacked, the bites are quite harmful.
Ouch! I hope you got the other 2-3 smaller nests I saw on the ladder too! These are much different than the mud dauber wasps I have around here, but boy, they are every bit as nasty. Sure wouldn't like to meet any of them! The wasps around here like to build nests under the eves of the house and garage. You might look around and see if you have more nests you haven't found yet.
There was in fact a tiny other one, nothing lived in it though, the other piece was the back part of the big one left behind when I pulled on the ladder, that's why they were coming out that night instead of being blocked by the foam in the normal entrance... Now, all gone... :)
These are looking like Bald-Faced Hornets. Yes, they are easily agitated (severely aggressive once disturbed).
Yep.... ! I found that out for the second time, it's the second time in 3 years they make home in this area, getting a little tired of this, it HURTS... ! lol Thanks for comment, Pierre
+Pierre's Garage You are welcome.
Homer Simpson hahaha
Guess it looks funnier fron your end, at least for me it started getting better after my lip got back to normal size... lol Thanks for comment, Pierre
They are hornets, not wasps and generally much more aggressive than wasps.
This improves my knowledge, but not lessen the sting... lol At least I got to play a little with them and piss them off. ;)
just use a large can of carburetor cleaner cleaner
Also possible, that foam is great that it stops them from coming out, in this case they came out the back cause when I shook the ladder the whole back of the nest was torn and wide open... Had to take cover that night cause of that... ;) (With one more sting on an ear lobe)
They were trying to watch videos on KZhead. But they cant say Google go to you tube .😂😂😂😂
Good one, now, the stings don't hurt any more, it's funnier... ;)
Lol Bart no sir Homer Simpson
Yah... I know, but,it didn't hurt less... 😒😒😉👍
Lol Homer is my favorite from the Simpson
Is this going to become an annual tradition like the bar-z bash ? 8 stings is a lot, maybe you'll become waspman and fix all the problem in Montreal.
As long as I don't have to kiss one of those every time they get closeto me, I think I'll keep the pest control skills to solve only the problems on my own property, this little game could easily turn deadly if something doesn't go the way it was planed... ;) I think machining is way safer....
Glad you are OK, I've never seen anything like that .
i saw a stinger on the phone
They really attacked the phone, there were a couple of stingers I had to clean the phone after all this... ;)
Challenge of the video: Try to watch the entire video with headphones on. It’s impossible.
I think i saw ANOTHER NEST! 2:20 its small and two rungs over
Yap... !!! It didn't survive any more than the big one... ;)
Lol insects with attitudes
Yep....!!! They got me good before I got them... lol
To sum this up amigo this is one of the funniest wasp videos I have ever seen!! Lmao very clever!!
Imagine this was VR
Keep the windows closed... And, do not tailgate...!!!! 😂😂😉
Why bother killing them?
We pass there almost everyday, if we don't they will kill us, those hornets are too aggressive to leave there they attack when ever we get close, and it's really not an option for when the grandkids are around... Normally I would leave them alone but not in this case... ;)
i think they called bald faced hornets i seen a guy blast a nest off the side of his shed with a hose pipe it was highly effective same hornet i think
There are many ways to have fun with those nests, I tend to get a little revengeful after being stung... ;)
Can anyone answer why they attack cameras so viciously!?!? I've seen it multiple times and the camera has been stationary each time.
Just a suggestion, maybe they remember that the camera isn't normally in this location in normal times, so they see it as a threat.....????? Beside that anything is valid.
METHOD ONE same reason people attack cameras lol
On the way to the Trout stream I frequent, there is this old house ... on the side of that small house was a 4-5' Hornets' nest, after a few years somebody finally removed it. I heard about its removal via the news! That's how famous it was. LOL
A small nest like mine is already pretty dangerous, imagine the BIG ONE....!!!!
@@pierresgarage2687 When I get around them, I have to go instant Zen mode, I haven't been stung yet, but my better-half got nailed in the back of the knee while leaning against the truck! He said it was like getting hit with a Mack truck and he isn't some wimp, he's a big fella. ;-)
You feel the injection of the toxin as well as the sting, quite intense...!!! That time I got 6 or 7 stings. The surrounding area swells into a patch of about 3 inches and last for over a week, the whole thing itches like crazy also.... Benadryl for that time period or you go crazy scratching...
@@pierresgarage2687 Pardon me, but this requires an expletive (hell!) their stingers burrowed so deep it ate my skin; I had mini volcano's, and the dang things necrotized the surrounding area! Itch? Holy Moley! It was painful. Benadryl is my close friend! My best friend! LOL
All I can say is nope
What dit you think I Saïd??? Lol
Bald faced hornets
That doesn't make them more lovable to me, after what they've done..... ;) Thanks for comment, Pierre
You have a lot of nests around your home, dangerous, Please B careful..
Those hornets build a nest every 2 to 3 years in that area, this we were absent for 2 weeks, so, when we came back the nest was already pretty big and unexpected... Their sting is pretty nasty... Thanks for comment, next spring I'll try to be more careful PIerre
one of the true joys in my life is killing wasp and hornets. I've seen a hornet front of my face drop a wasp on the hood of my van and just eat it in seconds. if you want to stop wasps from coming around just get a picture blow it up a little bit more than it is the size of a hornet The Hornet will keep them away. I had a real problem at one house they were up in the eve along the site fascia and there were hundreds I went to the office photocopy to hornet put it in the sliding glass door window and Wallah no more wasp. I thought damn I should sell this but you can just go online and get a nice picture
I've never heard of this method 😆 But definitely effective in your case, and humane to boot.
nah I'm good
fucking bugs.. they make me feel itchy lol
Same here, exactly my word when they got me... lol
i hate wasps, one day i got bite 4 times on the left hand. i was mounting a solar panel on the roof. damn hurts like shit
You don't need to convince me... lol Those are nasty aggressive buggers.... Never know where or when we get close from a nest and disturb them, at that time it's already too late.... :( Thanks for your input, Pierre
bald faced hornets
Also called by me, Nasty buggers...!!! lol Geeeeezz they're aggressive and give a nasty sting. Thanks for the info, Pierre
that's a small bald face hornet nest they get a lot bigger
This was early Summer so the nest wasn't huge, if it went on for another 2 month, it would have been horrible for me... !!! Thank you for comment, Pierre
I got stung on the eye lid. I looked half chine's for a week.
Oh... ! Now I know why Chineses have so much problem seeing the problems on their products... lol
That's a 15 feet pole job, won't touch it with a 10.
You get close when they're calm after you need protection or else it could be deadly or close to it...
The actual smart way begins at 6:23 when it is night time.
The first part was more meant to be revenge, only second part was meant to get rid of then for ever... ;) Thanks for viewing, Pierre
