@xythiera7255 it's a gimmick. AI can't make processor faster GOD DAMN IT! It creates ILLUSIONS. Frame-gen and Super Resolution
@@Phat_trick910 You clearly don't know how this works, I understand your point but you are quite mistaken here, this is not a such case, here the NPU is specialized and optimized to run multiple parallelized tasks related to AI processing, that is what AI makes for it, but it really isn't AI instead it is for AI. To be fair, the new chips are meant for Windows 12 and all the NPU/A.I. stuff.
🤣🤣🤣
you must build the hype
@@PurpleWarlockThat said I really hope chips without NPU are still upgradeable to Windows 12 once it comes out even if I plan to stick with Windows 11. If Windows 12 requires a NPU, then you know that Microsoft has screwed up (even more).
Unfortunately that's what MS is known for, namely to screw people! I remember when windows 11 was announced, and although it was no different to the 10, yet it wasn't backward compatible. People who had purchased/built/upgraded parts 1-2 years prior to Windows 11 launch couldn't upgrade to Windows 11!
Stop talking about it and just release it.
have they even released the x elite 😂
You know how it works right? We have to wait to get the tech from aliens to reverse engineer it then the Elites get the tech before it gets in the hands of the general public. All we get is advertising and showcases until we're allowed to use any ground breaking tech. Transistors, fiber optics, microchips, and so on all went through this process and were all reverse engineered from alien tech
Arm needs people to integrate it into a device cause no one has made a motherboard with a replaceable arm cpu

Microsoft will be announcing Surface Pros and Laptops with X Plus & X Elite next month. We'll prob have them in our hands early June.
It do kinda piss me off when they keep claiming better than opponent when their products are already available while this still don't have a release date
The target was always mid this year, but yeah, I think they made a mistake revealing it so long ago. It feels like old news for something that hasn't even been released yet.
But can it run crysis?
When they showed davinci, audacity and obs workflows.. I'm sold! It's seldom for a tech company to showcase the real world uses of apps in videos like this.. hope i can afford.. definitely my next laptop will have this processor

@htpoint what about battery life? This is arm dude.
thats not the point. if you want power just get gaming laptop. these chips are for power efficiency to battery life ratio (which x86 is sucks of)
Because x86 chips are bad on laptops, now windows laptops can compete with macbooks
M3 pro v Snapdragon X Elite. I just purchased M3 pro🔥. Best laptop ever for me. I used to use gaming laptop, battery extremely suck. This one is lasting way way longer.
Excited for the possibilities, terrified for backward compatibility. 😬
Apple did it ok - they can’t do less
@@AgathaWhispers Apple did it successfully twice (ppc->x86_64->arm), Microsoft tried it once and failed miserably (x86->itanium), not sure that you can apply other company success universally
@@AgathaWhispers Apple did ok because they're a closed system and they're able to fully commit to moving to that architecture. Microsoft can't do that. The use cases people use Macs for cover far less than what people use Windows for and Windows has decades of x86/64 applications and executables that people still use and will forever want access to.
dont be terrified, i can bet it will be backward compatable up to windows XP. i have this hunch.
There's a world of possibilities coming! We have hundreds of games are running great on the platform, and we're excited to share more soon.

I really want a mini pc powered by a Snapdragon X Elite
In my company, we have two work laptop variants: 1) AMD G4 2) Qualcomm. Those who opted for Qualcomm variant enjoying 4x battery life compared to AMD variant. Even though AMD variant is more powerful on paper and has double the RAM, performance is same. Waiting to see Qualcomm based processors on consumer laptops.
AI this, AI that, I don't like how much attention AI has been getting recently. It's always good to see new competition in the CPU market though. I look forward to seeing what you have to offer.
Special thanks for highlighting Open Source Software in the Use Case examples!! The "Elite" is not just for the "Elites" is a statement in itself! Well Done!!
WHAT was that banger !!!! we need that on Spotify ASAP!!!!
It would be SICK if they said it was made by their generative AI plugin in audacity!
The fact that there aren't comparisons to the M3 in every chart is pretty telling. I mean, I get the "we want to compare it to other Windows laptops" reasoning, but that's not really how people who care about performance figures shop for laptops. They're asking if they need to run x86 workloads natively, and if not, then they're looking for the best Arm ISA chip. Hopefully the Snapdragon X devices will be competitive in pricing, if not in performance.
m3 is said to much faster but it is as fast or faster than m2, which is still great
you dont get it. to a windows user anything close to m1 performance in terms of battery is a breath of fresh air and enough. note mac os doesint have CAD and plathora of applications native.
@@univera1111 ...totally ! I use both & hence agree.
My dream laptop has always been slim, longer battery life, software and hardware optimization, excellent display and webcam, Terrific and loud speakers with no fan in a windows laptop - Thank You, Snapdragon for making it True
Looking forward to it, but still aiming for the X Elite 😉
Amazing! Good job Snapdragon/Qualcomm team!!!
Thank you! 😄
We will see that, if it's finally release. You know based on the price, most comparison probably will not against the cheapest basic M chip... because when you compare the 12 power cores with just 4 power cores, you easily can show good results. And they barely compare themself with even the M2 or M3 Pro (which still has less than 12 power cores) And the 40% extra battery life compared to x86 in Excel it's not even close to the 2-3x longer battery life for Macbooks.
Got it: “ISO power” “AI” “Core Ultra” - take away is “We’re probably going to ship systems after talking as if it existed for a year already and hopefully not have people run equitable benchmarks…”

Will it have an uefi bios to install any OS?
3:17 to be fair, you're only faster in multicore because you have 4 more physical cores than the M3 (12 vs 8), you should compare it with something like the M3 pro that also has 12 cores, plus on a single core score the M3 is still winning, but hey, competition are good for customers, so keep that up

The interesting thing no one talks about is the driver support. Windows is known that it could be supported for decades (looking at you, Windows XP - 2001 - 2019). And Snapdragons are known for, well ..., "if you had one update in the year after you bought the device, consider yourself lucky". Intel chips may be *hot* but with them I know I can sideload drivers for at least 10 years. Snapdragon has something to prove in this department.

Wish y'all were confident in saying that the X Elite also slightly outperforms M3 Pro on multi-core (and it does, 15.6k vs 15.1k on benchmarks). Just saying it outdoes the M3 isn't really special for the best chip you're pushing
Actually, it is an incredible achievement. Although M3 is the base model of M3 family, it is the processor with the best performance-per-watt (PPW) in the world, and efficiency is measured according to PPW, not performance per core. The M3 Pro and Max are indeed more powerful than M3, but the performance increase is not proportional to the increased TDP, so the PPW is worse. And also very important, the M3 Pro and X Elite are almost tied regarding multicore performance when the M3 Pro has a ~+50% TDP compared to X Elite (both with 12 cores) and, to add insult to injury, the first is built using a more advanced process node (lithography) from TSMC, the N3, while the second uses N4P (less than 10% slower PPW vs N3).
