David Gilmour's solo concert at the Royal Festival Hall, London in June 2001, as part of the Robert Wyatt-curated Meltdown festival.
It also features footage filmed during three concerts at the same venue in January 2002.
Guest appearances are made by Floyd colleague Richard Wright, as well as Robert Wyatt and Bob Geldof It includes the first performance of "Smile", a track that would appear almost five years later on Gilmour's third solo album, On an Island. Gilmour

  • Years ago I was going through a very difficult time. Many times I put the DVD of this concert on when I was desperate and suicidal. Each and every time it pulled me back from the brink. It truly saved my life.

    • I too am fighting breast and lung cancer. Listening helps to take away the pain and stress. Doesn't it? Hope everything worked out for you dear. The doctors tell me after 4 years I'm terminal. "I SAY I WASN'T BORN WITH A EXPIRATION DATE"! Its all a perpetual roller coaster ride. Would love to hear how you're doin. Still fighting strong I hope. We WARRIORS have to. STANDING TALL THRU IT ALL 🙏🙏♥️

  • Love this but then again love almost all Gilmour, Wright , Mason, Floyd not to mention Dick Parry , it’s all incredible timeless music that just can turn any bad mood or feeling around and transport you to a different time!     • I 1st saw Floyd at earls CT, the wall, aged 7. Written by the genius that is Roger waters. Dsotm, also came from Roger. Gilmour plays Rogers music well enough. Never forget Roger waters.

  • How things have changed in 20 years.. I went to see Ray LaMontangne last year and I swore I would never go to a live show again. Too many people with smartphones on their phones, people talking during the performance, etc. It was horrible. Ray is very good music, Gilmour is the Greatest for me. I just know now the audience would ruin it for me. Thanks for posting this it was wonderful.

  • A truly gifted man. You know he spent half his life in recording studios. This is artistic output and dedication. I hope young artists hold Gilmour as a gold standard for just staying sharp and innovative their whole lives.

    • What's cool is you can progressively hear more and more people recognise which song he's performing. Just a smattering of applause in the first minute, but when he hits that chord at 2:06 that's when it clicks for most of the audience.

  • It touched me through the heart to the bones. It made my mood cry gently and smile as if I was lost the way home and found myself in a utopia.
