In this video I explain the Gasoline Direct Injection (GDi) fuel system. I introduce the components and components locations including: low pressure pump, high pressure pump, fuel pressure control valve, fuel rail pressure sensor, fuel rail, high pressure injectors. I also explain all components functions and diagnostics. After explaining all components on the engine, I show you how to test the GDI system operation with scan tool as well.

  • lot of good information but would love to see some GDI specific diagnostic. lean, rich, high pressure fuel pump and fuel pressure solenoid diagnostic, wave form diagnostics

    • Hi my friend. Normally this is the high pressure pump output pressure: 40 bar at idle, about 140 bar at full load. You can check it with scan tool as I showed in the video. More videos coming for rail pressure sensor and fuel control valve diagnostic.
