nearly a year later, im still in awe over the outro ryan wrote for this episode. it's incredibly touching and thoughtful, and to me it sums up my feelings on why it's worth thinking and talking about these things to begin with. there is a glory to the unexplained, a shine that would be lost if they were understood. maybe it's the stories the questions let us tell.

A part of me was getting emotional listening to the lady ask if they’d seen any ghosts and that person who said they liked to dance. Just made me think about death and how it’s sad they don’t get to experience simple things like that anymore. And that woman sounded like she was genuinely curious and having a good time watching them A part of me wondered if the person saying “it’s dangerous” when Ryan was in the basement was trying to warn him/keep him safe
This series wasn’t about whether ghost are real or not…this was a journey of one man who conquered his fear
With a nice supportive friend by his friend. This show wouldn't have been so appreciated if not for Shane.

Tbh, Shane seemed legitimately scared in this one. I know he has his own stance and typically leans more towards the side of disbelief, but I wonder what he was hearing when he went in there on his own in particular as well because he did seem pretty creeped out when he was doing the outside interview when Ryan was having his solo turn

This was the greatest, most clever thing Buzzfeed has ever produced. Maybe the ONLY good thing to ever come out of Buzzfeed, but regardless has become the only ghost hunting show I've really liked. They used a lot of the same goofy methods as other phonier shows, but you can tell they never intentionally faked anything and the contrast of Ryan's belief and Shane's complete lack of enthusiasm for it is PERFECT. The only ghost hunting show where sometimes (most of the time) they might find nothing at all, and yet its still hilarious. Love it. Somehow Buzzfeed made the most honest, realistic ghost hunting show and it blows my mind.
If you haven't seen it already, Ghost Files is pretty damn good too. Not exactly the same, but pretty similar to their formula here. In a lot of ways they even improved their investigations.

I grew up loving Ghost Adventures and being terrified of spirits and demons, but now, after watching the entire Unsolved Series, I realize that ghosts and demons (if they're real, I really don't know anymore) only have as much power over you as you give them. I'm very thankful to the Ghoul Boys for showing me that there is nothing hiding in the darkness to be afraid of (also for giving me mountains of one liners to over quote every single day).😂
They're just fooling around,if they stay a couple days they might get something,like cold spots or even movement.

That final monologue was the most chilling thing from this whole show, that and Shane destroying the spirit box really tied the series together in a beautiful way
That phone call between Shane and Ryan while Shane was outside was just very wholesome and lovely.
Finally the day has come where, Shane didn't completely deny the possibility of ghosts existing and Ryan laid down on a pentagram trying to communicate with a demon. I'm gonna miss this show.

The fact that the Sallie house is the finale is so cool. Out of all the episodes the Sallie house was always the best one in my opinion. I think this is the best ending they could have done
I spent a lot of time in the Sallie House in the middle of the night with a ghost hunting crew. Really peaceful place. Not a single spooky thing about it. (Except there was a weird hole in the wall in the basement to a different place with dirt floors and walls. Weird looking, but nothing happened there either. I don’t know if it’s still there. This was 18 years ago.)

I can’t believe Ryan actually laid on the pentagram. His character arc throughout this series has been incredible. He used to be scared of everything but these days he’s just as wild as Shane is lol. i think the plan now that this series has ended they’ll finally have the opportunity to do a show very similar to unsolved just under a different name and obviously different editing.

Shane having no fear or belief seems to show that, belief in and fear is what gives spirits and demons power. Ryan is starting to show that he can be but, without the fear, spirits and demons become powerless.
Lol the funniest part was when ryan freaked out the ghost, who told him he was insane and showed concern for him, warning him the basement is dangerous! Lol!
