If you were being serious about plaid running gear, you're right, drop a bunch of weight, then up the traction. There's a lot of power not being utilised even in boring looking runs.

Imagine what it would do if they actually made it hook up.. like an actual race car and not a drift toy. People apparently think these slot cars are an automatic pay to win and if they get one their like some kind of world champion at racing and it doesn't work like that. It puts everything down without waisted energy. And that is on almost any surface even with a dirty back alley road.

      @navithefairy@navithefairy Жыл бұрын
    • @@navithefairy The tires won't make much of a difference here it's not really the traction of the tires limiting that Tesla. It's the computer "slowly" ramping up the power. The insane instant torque on those things unless limited would snap CV shafts or strip the spines on them. Not to mention the aluminum subframe that the drive unit mounts to is subjected to insane amounts of torque.

    • @@navithefairy There are some good engineering videos on it. It will definitely be faster on slicks. The TC can respond so insanely fast because they are electromotors, very easy and instant to control. The Tesla TC is BETTER than any ABS on the market, hence the completely counter-intuitive fact that it can actually accelerate faster than it can brake. This isn't due to the brakes being shit (they are not good for repeated use such as track, but they are good for regular driving and stopping the car), it's completely due to the TC responding faster and more accurately than the ABS.

    • It's not fast, it's quick. In any discipline other than drag most cars would smoke the tesla. It looses power with battery charge, making it weaker with ever minute you drive it. That in addition to other factors will exhaust the vehicle long before the gas car will even break a sweat. Tesla's have terrible range. IMO a tesla is a great intercity vehicle, going from neighboring city to neighboring city or just driving in the city in general (imagine how nice and quiet new York could be for example), but anywhere other than direct city traffic the car would be next to useless. The issue is, at a certain speed it's neither engine nor exhaust making the Loud noises, it's the tire rolling noise. It's much louder than the engine even with quiet rolling noise tires. What good is a "silent EV" when you'll still here the what, 90-100 decibel loud tire rolling noise? The faster you go the louder it gets to the point where it's like 110 decibels, each decibel being 10x louder than the last (magnitudal, just like earthquakes). I genuinely only see EV's useful for short ranges and stop-and-go traffic. Like at that point your advantages not only stop but become disadvantages

    • @@KryptoKn8 Its fast, 200mph is fast especially for a sedan this size🤦 Also Teslas range is great, it is greater than what the plaids competitors have. Tire noise is the loudest noise of most cars, correct. On a gas car you have tire noise on top of the engine noise too, gas cars are so loud inside. Teslas stay well in 70db area. I have lived with model s for 3 years and its been awesome. 10 times cheaper to run than a gas vehicle. Just way nicer experience overall. You will get it when you drive it
