  • 4:58. Passenger glances at the speed. 4.58->5.05. She maintains a veneer of calm but a gleam of fear. 5.05. She raises her eyebrows. 5.06. Misha exhales and exclaims "ok, i'm good". She laughs with relief that she's still alive. This is better than a thousand reviews.

    • @@GPT202 its not faster on straights than a S plaid that had its limiter deleted just like this one. The S plaid has a top speed of 220mph or 350kmh without the limiter while the turbo S struggles to break the 300kmh barrier and has a top speed of only 330kmh compared to the S plaid. And the time it takes to reach these insane speeds is incredibly shorter compared to the porsche as you've seen in this video. The S plaid reached 305kmh while on the same stretch the turbo S only about 278kmh and only 290kmh at the main straight.

  • Around 39 kWh of energy used in one lap, quite impressive amount to put out in around 8 minutes. And gives an average of around 290 kW (390 Hp) used any given second, and that's including braking so the average while on power (with an estimate that 35% of the laptime is braking) while accelerating would be around 450 kW (600 Hp). • That looks like a win for Tesla and the Model S Plaid. I am impressed as to how well it performs there at the ring. You can perceive a couple of its down sides, but for a family sedan, it is Amazing! You can tell that the power and handling is very good. With time, the main down side will improve. The main thing is weight, but that's just the way the tech is at the moment. Manufacturers are investing billions in battery tech, so it will improve over time. At strength for the tech is that the balance is excellent, and the center of gravity is difficult too beat. I am also very amazed and impressed that it is compared to one of the Italian carmakers best, the Ferrari SF 90 Stradalle. One of my favorites from the brand. They say it could have more power, but for driving dynamic, it just isn't necessary. I hope we hang onto combustion tech, but we can't sell Gas after 2035. So for combustion, my hopes are with Toyota and their methods. Toyota is experimenting with Hydrogen and ammonia, that was a surprise to me, Ammonia. I hope Toyota can figure out how to reach Zero Carbon without the downside of Noxides of nitrogen.

The acceleration is different, you actually feel it more in them because you sit upright. On a bike it's closer to how you feel gravity when standing, so it's not the same. Incredible machines and so docile to drive, but you know underneath that pedal is an absolute mountain of energy waiting for you.

I gave the Tesla video a slight head start, the SF90 pulled ahead by some margin but got held up by the yellow flag delay, after which I saw both cars go into the Carousel (I think it's called) at exactly the same time, then the SF90 started pulling ahead again, and Tesla was getting reduced power... At the end, the SF90 passed the finish 5s ahead of the Tesla. Lots of variables with other cars on the track I know, but still epic to watch.
