4,000HP NHRA Corvette C6 vs Lia Block's 1,400HP AWD Mustang // Hoonicorn vs The World 2
Hoonicorn vs The World is BACK! But we’ve made a few changes this time around... We added paddle shifting to the SADEV Sequential transmission, weird science prototype VF503 wheels from American Racing, all-new livery, and maybe a few "beep boops" to give it a little more GO. First challenger? U.S. Nationals NHRA champion Alex Laughlin and his ridiculously ridiculous 4,000 HORSEPOWER 526ci Hemi C6 Corvette, enjoy!

It was a blast on a prepped track but dry roads felt like ice. I ran a top loader 4spd because I couldn't afford a tremec trans. I could smoke Eagle GTs at 65 in high gear on the highway just by punching it. Later on I had an 1800lb 66 911 with a carbed and hot rodded 911SC 3.0 liter, another totally tail happy car. All this is true, but I prefer cars which are fun and usable in the varied situations of the real world, rather than one trick ponies which need a specially prepared 1/4 mile stretch to do "their thing". That the Hoonicorn could get anywhere close to a dedicated drag car in a straight line makes it worthy of respect considering it could also be used on a rally course or winding road where the drag car would have no chance.
@@rosstee the thing is that they knew it was a drag car so it's not gonna perform it's best on this type of strip
@@josuelozoya1599 True, and I'm sure the drag car is even more impressive on the strip, but the fact that it needs that specially prepared surface to reliably win makes it less of a car for me. Vette driver earned a fan today. I'm gonna look out for this guy. What a super chill, cool and humble guy. You know that vette would crush the Hoonicorn on a prepped strip, but he went safety first and lost to a 14 year old girl with grace and class. Helluva guy. And a helluva day for Lia and Ken.
Yea he couldve kicked her head in the first 2 and gone home, good for him letting her win
if gonna go with a fully prepped strip for the vette, would also need to give the hooni any similar pre run optimization. edit- and yeah, came back to this for a rewatch after the driving test, vette guy is cool, and the evolution of Lia has been something that is just so wholesome to see under Ken and Lucy's parenting.
Awesome Car ! Awesome Driver ! Awesome Guy !
As a dad my self feeling the dad feels watching Leah do donuts I can only imagine how Ken feels. Proud moment for sure.
Haha yes great to see. Its even worse, proud for him see that kid literally smoke an nhra driver, beat him on reaction time and his own game. Not to mention she doesn’t lift for a second spinning the wheels more than half the track.
25% proud / 75% absolutly FEAR. That most be a really painfully happiness moment.
@@carstutorial yes for sure. Even if you know they got the skills.
R.I.P Ken Block, you will forever be an idle in my life and so many others. Thank you for everything
Wow, it's hard to watch this again without being a little heart broken. RIP Badass father, racer, HooniJockey, and super cool guy.
Bruh does anyone remember Ken’s “Teaching My Daughter How to Do Donuts” video like a year ago with her struggling a bit at first driving a Vanilla Ice 5.0, to her consistently launching, shifting, sliding, and just generally charging it in the Hoonicorn? 🤯 I was stoked about the Pegs and 3 piece crank on my Haro when I was 14 🤣🤙🏼
was just thinking about this. Like she learned how to drive manual and do donuts only a year ago
I love how they're not driving in a straight line, they're floating across the ground persuading the car into the right direction
😂 😂 😂 😂 😂
"thats my baby girl" - ken block smile and proud. Rest in peace, brother.
Watching this video remembering such a great man with a great talent.. 😢 Rip ken block you will be missed and never forgotten 😢🙏🌷
Lia takes 'taking daddy's car out for a spin' to a whole new level! Respect
Gotta respect the humble character of the vette racer (I forget his name). He didn’t even throttle out, literally giving Lia the win. We all (should) know that the Hoonicorn doesn’t really stand a chance against that monster. Great confidence boost for the kid.
He did exactly what he predicted before the third race. He didn´t present the win to her. He reacted to the track for his and his cars safety. Everybody knows that the Hoonicorn doesn´t stand a chance on a prepped track. On this track though, it is indeed a win. Btw, i don´t think she needs a confidence boost in any ways. Not sure about the dude whos going to ask her for a date though....
@@andreasthoben4645 lol
@@andreasthoben4645 if I wasn’t double her age I would
Nah he's got a 4k hp monster on an unprepped, nasty surface. If they were on the strip on a prepped track, Lia probably wouldn't have stood a chance and everyone there knows that.
@@andreasthoben4645 I guess we all wanna see the Hoonicorn race on a prepped track to prove or disprove this theory.
I will say lia your one hell of a driver an definitely following your father as Ken was a inspiration to me as I kid an he will always be carry on what your doing it’s amazing ill be glad to follow you in your travels ❤️
Lia block definitely jumped on the first run and they saying her reaction timing is on point 😭
Agreed but I mean she's fucking 14 Soo she gets a pass lmao
Haha for sure
yeah but bro still chased so its a win regardless. 3rd race was actually pretty sick reaction time
Jumped on 3rd run too… first run was really bad but still cool to watch. Have seen the Bette run in person…INSANE
@@erickromero010 lmao 3rd race wouldn't have made a dif she was 3 cars ahead 🤣
Can we just take a second and admire the level of confidence drift cleanliness Lia is performing at the end??!! Block Legacy is promising!!
Ain't gonna lie, I felt proud-dad-tight-throat seeing that, and she's not even my daughter!
Best donuts to date on this vs. that.
Especially considering it was a few months ago she was just learning how to drift in the Foxbody!
I thought this was new till I seen Ken and then I saw that it was 1 year ago.. Big props to her, would love to see her back
Legends live forever! Lia is a badass!
As a dad… my heart would stand still the moment she launches.
Agreed, I was watching Ken tensing up thinking I would've been fine, not tense at all...after my heart started beating again. I can't imagine putting my little girl in a monster like that or hell my boys either.,
I appreciate the part where they reassured viewers about her training ... w/o that the comments would be freaking out
What's your diet and workout routine?
@@omarijohnson1881 not natty.
Mad respect for the c6 driver. Would be waaaaay more proper having a tree to stage on and get better reactions. Jumps lose automatically
thats what i was thinking. On the street it's an auto loss, none of that chase is a race. Even with money on the line.
@@aceboogie7832 depends where your racin, out here in Chicago most the time it was chase is a race
@@Deemney shitholes doesn’t count
Hold that arm drop an extra second and Lia jumps it everytime, she expects the drop not reacts to it.
@@kylethompson3218 you realize she’s only 14😂 of course she’s going to jump she has no experience
He didn't drive the car all the way because he didn't want to mess it up? No prep track, yep very unpredictable and scary.
yeah he probably only got down 1/3 of its potential
So awesome and wonderful for her. Still in tears over this huge loss😢 but I’m so happy for Lia!!!
Leah can drive for real!! Savage skills.
She's got mad pedigree lol. I don't think Ken will let her finish high school until she has the appropriate number of wins under her belt.
minus her timing, in a professional race, she'd be disqualified
if your dad was ken block and you drove the hoonicorn you would be that good 👍🏼
@@r1_de1ta-_-59 She's 14. Timing is conduct and is far from the hardest thing people have to learn to go racing.
@@funfun5656 I know, I'm just saying that she could work on her timing. She is an amazing/outstanding driver for 14
12:12 this is legitimately the most smooth and enjoyable way to do in video to do promoting for companies. Not as in your face as stopping the entire video for a silly commercial that seems scripted, just a footnote like “yeah these are the fluids we use, we trust them,” and just like that I’m hooked.
Ken & Co. are a big enough name that they can probably negotiate a low-keyed plug-in-passing, rather than having to deliver a couple pounds of blather.
❤❤❤ just rewatching all the good memories as a fan. I hope so hard that everything is better than suffering, which just means I hope everyone is ok.
For some reason, this is the first video I thought of when I heard Ken passed. RIP
This kid is driving a car faster than anything most of us will ever drive. I love it
and she's driving it better than most of us too!!! crazy impressive skills, especially so young
I get thrown in my seat and shit my pants at 500hp thats 1400hp!!!i could'nt even imagine it
@@sirgeel5094 and AWD
lol, just lucky strike on birth lottery. I appreciate people which parents had nothing in common with racing and they still are shining in motor sport.
It's just such an amazing engineering feat this car competes with so much purpose built stuff while still managing to be 'all purpose' in the realm of on-road motorsport.
I just found out Ken passed away. I had to come back and rewatch some videos.
At only 14 and she has all the confidence in the world. Mad skills! Reaction times are top level. Keep humble and you will go far young lady. To the NHR driver, congratulations on being a champion and humble. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Being humble is overrated when you’re better then everyone else at a given task
@@smm7540 id firmly disagree. Being better doesn't give you right to be an ass. I know that's not what your implying but still. Being genuinely nice, regardless of skill, is always the best road to walk down.
@@TheDarkPacific and prefer to be nice and Cocky
I wanna see them both on the strip now. Let’s face it, 1400hp and 100lbs heavier isn’t beating 4000hp 100lbs lighter. He probably couldn’t go past half throttle and was spinning the whole way. Lia can drive though props to her
It wouldn't be any different, the Hoonicorn would smoke it 10/10, it would also hook up better...
@@michaelgamble2848 LOL, ok, keep dreaming. Where do you get your drugs?

Dag man this video hits different now....wow gone too soon!! Glad his daughter will continue to carry his legacy. Praying for the Block family.
that was a great race. Alex is an awesome sport considering he had a lot going against him on this but it was fun to watch. The last time I saw any footage of Lia was when she was trying to learn how to do figure 8's/learn how to drift with that fox body...look at her now! nothing but pure confidence in her abilities.
yo props to lia for living out every teenage boys dream, truly amazing
