In this video I go over 10 to 15-ish tips I use all the time in my Helldivers 2 gameplay that the game never tells you about. This information is all helpful post patch and comes from a level 50 player (Skull Admiral).
As of today, April 2nd 2024, the extra grenade trick no longer works and has been patched.
A sad day for all of us grenadier build types.
RIP a solid glitch. I like the grenade pistol that seems to always have two in the tube on that first shot. Not even that helpful but makes me smile and I love an extra shot
Here my admiral tip for you. Your mission is complete. Your going to extraction. But your extraction is surrounded by poi and bug Nest with sweet sample your want. Here the tip. Go call the pelican. Wait in the edge of the landing zone. At 00:00 sec you leave the landing zone. Pelican will say : waiting for helldivers to come back to landing zone. And he will hover and wait for you to come back. And he will shoot everything. Pretty far too. Once your done looting. Go back to landing zone and he will land. Free unlimited autocanon. Quick tip for nurse splitter that sneak behind you. They create a fog. So is it getting foggy. Look behind you. Only the nurse one. The green one doesn't.
Will the Pelican stay there for the rest of my time in the map?
@@kev-o8817 if you call him he will stay until you get in or 20sec after the map timer hit 0
I'm going to test this. This is just dirty enough to be fun
Ssdly this won't work with randoms. They'll think you want to extract without them finishing every bughole/automaton constructor and most likely will kick you. But trick is a known thing. Many players just don't bother (even if it's free autocannon suppport near LZ)
I use this trick a lot when I'm solo. That AC on the Pelican is way stronger than our handheld unit. It will kill everything from almost farther than you can see. It does move toward the enemy as well. If you have one OBJ left close to Extract, use this trick before you go do the thing. Just DO NOT let enemies get close. Friendly fire happens....
Pro tipp: Throw distance is 45m, with upgrade 65m, and if you throw top in the sky it's 24m from your position. It really helps me with strategically placing ordinances.
Cool! But what do you mean if you throw "top" into the sky?
@@nickatnight782 up* Damn automatons autocorrect.
I just eye it and say "that looks pretty gud to me" and let democracy rain
Dive + throw like a chad
That is simply not true, for I have a clip of me throwing an impact nade onto a fabricator 50m away with no upgrade
ALWAYS pick up every sample you come across even when on the verge of death/overrun because when you die the samples you drop show on the map. Much easier than remembering where you saw the samples at
What do they look like when you drop them? I still somehow manage to lose them.
@@StormEagle5 a test tube symbol (you know like from a laboratory)
@@Bwakcmo69cool dude.
@@Bwakcmo69awesome
And drop it near or at the extraction point if you happen to run pass it during your mission.
The Laser Cannon can destroy a spore spewer from across the map. If you can see it, you can kill it. Also the laser cannon can destroy the ‘garage’ doors that often contain medals and creds so you can save your nades for bug holes…
Scorcher also hits across map with 4 shots
Slugger can break those doors too
Autocannon can 2 tap the Spore Spewers from across the entire map aswell!
My favorite side mission is the illegal broadcast tower, because with the autocannon( and many other weapons*) if you can see it, you can shoot it across the map for a quick skip ❤️
its a shipping container, just being a nerdge
Another nifty tip to kill bug nests is utalizing a charger's charge. Enemies do have friendly fire, and if you line it up right, you can have a charger crash into nests and itll destroy them.
If there are not many hunters you can zigzag your retreat for better collateral.
Also dropping any type of drop pod right next to a hole/fabricator can plug/destroy those spawners. handy when out of grenades.
@@lordvitae Try not to throw the supply drop into the hole and I did that and the hole collapsed and hid the supply's so none for team.
@@shandrakor4686 usually it is just a matter of positioning to get the prompt to appear to grab them. But if it ia just next to it the impact will close it and you should stll be able to grab drops
I'm using that, thanks!
Great tips! One tip I use that wasn't mentioned here and helps me allot. When running from bugs leave a little dmg on your health bar when you run out of stam stim to heal and it will instantly fill your stam. Jump off the next ledge that will do a little dmg now you can stim again when out off stam
I did mention that in my last video about solo'ing levels! it is a great tip!
Just found that at a few days ago
Yeah as soon as I realized you can’t stim for stamina at full health, I started paying attention to which enemies I might let hit me once if it isn’t high stakes 😂
Sounds like some stim addiction here...
random stealth tip for bile titans: if you are in a bush and dont move at all, you have a high chance of going unnoticed if you are trying to avoid those pesky gaints even if he walks right above you
I love all these "level 50 says" videos. Like we're all fresh out of boot and the vets are like "alright kids, listen up..."
It tracks, given that super earth command puts you through a 5 minute training course then gives you your own ship
Dropping samples at extract is the best tip I've heard so far thx bro
I have tried this, but I only drop couple of samples and not all of them, not sure if you encountered this? I try to drop again but the drop sample option is greyed out and can't click it
@@AxomeV10 you only drop what you are carrying if your teammates have some they have to drop their own. Anything else might be a bug.
Some other things about the Slugger 1. The stagger can prevent bugs like the brood commander from getting anywhere close to you when they are chasing you 2. It can shoot open garage doors 3. It can shoot through enemies, hitting more enemies through them. This can really help in clearing groups of small bugs 3.
I mainly use the punisher but I also noticed, it can stop the bile spitter from spitting if you shoot them as they rear their head to spit. Super helpful. Oh and the stagger works on stalkers as well.
Slugger can take down spore towers too
Garage door? Is that the 2 man doors?
Bruh this is the first video with completely unique and very high value tips. Outstanding work dood
I tried to watch a couple others and make my list around things I rarely saw anyone mention! I appreciate you.
You can also see "the rock" with the super uranium on the map, it's very silver colored spot
The grenade tip alone is worth a like on the video!
Agreed, I think the mech shield tip as well.
i accidentally figured that one out bc i'm always accidentally still holding my grenades after i throw one and run away lol
If you're really eagle eyed you can spot certain formations on the map that will be side objectives. If you right click ping them on the map they will get the 4 corners marker instead of the pin confirming they are the side objective.
If you look at your compass the symbol will tell you what kind of side quest you're getting into
Finally, an actual video with useful tips instead of videos giving blatantly obvious tips like “shoot the chargers legs to kill it quick 🤡”.
"something you probably didnt know is you can call in airstrikes like call of duty"
@@Th3Mavr1ckthank you man now I can finally get past easy mode
@@TheCyberTurtle bless you my child 🙏🏽
So obvious… never would have thought of that in my life if the internet didn’t tell me
With the new nerf chargers are even easier, use an expendable anti tank and shoot the head. Anywhere on the head. Instant kill. Since you can call in an AT launcher every minute or so you basically always have access to kill not one but two chargers.
i accidentally killed a bile titan with a resupply just yesterday! cool to see it being talked about as a tactical weapon
I use the antitank call in as a weapon so it's like 3 shots lol
There’s an achievement to kill a charger with a resuplly
@@jordanweber5220same :)
Bonus tip: you can combine a few of these tips. When a charger rears up before charging you can attach a support call in to it's face for an easy kill (this also works on it's underbelly from the back but is much harder to hit) so yeah, call in that stalwart to kill the charger, why not?
The grenade launcher is slept on, I can easily solo elimination and egg missions on suicide mode running through just chunking nades into it all while the whole planet chases me
It's fantastic Been running it all day with the sickle and guard dog Makes soloing loads of fun
I like the nade launcher vs bugs, less so vs automatons but it's still good for sure.
Yeah good for bugs for sure
It’s good but make sure you’re almost facing the bug hole face on, it’s REALLY hard getting them to pop from the side or too acute of an angle
You can cancel out the small bug attacks (hunters fleas scavengers) by melee-ing them first. You just have to get the timing down and a hunter will never land those jump attacks. Doesn’t really help when there are more than two, however for those awkward times where your guns are empty and you’re staring down a hunter as it jumps side to side like the “YAAAAA” kid from vine. Definitely helps. Oh and you can stun lock one by spamming melee. The feeling of beating down the last hunter after swatting them out of the air is unparalleled. Makes you feel like bane beating down Batman in sewers. “You fight like a younger man, nothing held back. Admirably, but mistaken.”
not recommended to stim in your mech until they fix the bug that sometimes causes it to crash your game.
It does? I've stimmed lots in the mech and haven't had an issue. I'm on PC though so maybe that's a PS4 thing?
Extra grenade is game changing
Eagle eyes spotted that rock from far away lol I dodnt even see it after you pointes it out Thanks for the advanced tips
I love the slugger, very versatile weapon
It can blast open the loot containers you can find on the map. No waste of grenades!
I think the punisher is also slept on in its own way. It doesn't have as much penetrating power but the wider dispersal of shot makes it great for clearing big mobs of low tier enemies. Like hunters and scavengers. If you're carrying heavy at ordinance, it can be a life saver if enemies get too close.
@@Kylephibbsky It staggers really well too, helps from getting rushed
For weapon swapping, I edited my buttons, now I tap the button for primary, double tap for support and hold for sidearm. I got tired of blowing myself up because I didn't realise I still had a grenade launcher in hand. Now all I need to do is tap once and I'm 100% sure I have my primary equipped.
New to helldivers and watched quite a few videos the past few days. Most of what you covered here was info i haven't seen elsewhere. Good job!
Lot of good tips here I haven't seen anywhere else. Slugger/Punisher animation cancelling Adding far objectives to the mini-map Using water to exploit enemy pathing
sadly since this video wwas made they patched out the +1 grenade trick afaik. I tested it and it doesn't seem to work anymore, everything else should still be good though.
Commonly known tip for the autocannon to manage reloading before empty provides a faster reload. This same concept can be applied to your primary, secondary and some support weapons! If you manage reloading these weapons before they go empty, you’ll save a few seconds from not having to do an empty reload animation! This has definitely saved me from those pesky hunters 😁
8:58 you unknowingly pointed out another tip. Red beam strategems will always land wherever the beacon first shines, meaning your Orbital won't suddenly land on u if it sticks to a bug/bot that then charges you. Blue beam strategems will track the beacon and always land wherever it is - even if it gets stuck to an enemy or friendly
Grenade tip was clutch. I'm level 38ish and didn't think of it. Thanks bro.
Your chrono trigger song in the background brought me back. Great vid.
I had no idea that you could drop equipment and samples. Especially the latter will be of great use, thanks!
So nice to hear an explanation for the extra grenade thing. I did it accidentally one time and now i can repeat it.
Useful tip! Got a Jet pack ? Run forward, use the pack and at max height launch your stratagem for extra distance 👍 great for launching orbitals and eagles into bases without having to get too close 👍
Did not know you could fill bug holes with pods! Thats an awesome tip!
The slugger can also take out spore mushrooms.
Really good stuff. Thanks, man.
Hey man, just wanna say that tip about using the precision strike on a charger worked immediately! Awesome to keep the precision strike relevant even late game.
It works like a charm for me on every mission except the ones where your calldowns take longer to drop! Thanks for checking it out!
Great tips! Thank you. 😊
Hell yeah bro im level 45 and i learned alot great video! Got a sub here
For the fall damage tip I would not do that because there is a better use of the stim. What I do is when I jump down and it hurt me like 5% or 10% of my hp I hold on before I use it. There is something I never saw anyone talk about. Stim replenish your stamina bar completely when used. So I run a bunch and when my stam is close to finish I pop my stim and get a full bar again. It allow me to run fast for a damn long time
I talked about that in my last video!
I'm glad you're doing great with the Helldivers content Nas, you should definitely stream this and keep it up!
its gonna be tough for me to make a daily or even near daily thing out of this game, but at least it shows i still got it in me lol.
Bro.. I rock the same armor suit without ever seeing your videos.haha..great minds think alike
the fake rock can in fact spawn the super uranium.
I use the slugger instead of the breaker instead most of the time. I also use the expendable rocket for chargers, 2 chargers per call in, 70s. Its more efficient than the orbital. And if done right I can take out another charger by sticking the expendable call in and sticking it to him.
As for throwing the precision air strike at the charger, this works with support weapons aswell. I use the single use anti tank for this as it has a low cool down and gives you two more shots to deal with big stuff.
That last Tip was my favorite 😉
Great tips thanks hope the game keeps people diving
you dont need to stop for the smallest bugs, you can just regularly walk over them. also the slugger shotgun will open the cargo that you can blow open, saving you a grenade
Dude... every single one of these suggestions were helpful.
Another good tip I have is using the recoiless rifle exclusively for chargers. Either let them charge at you and turn around to face you or get them from afar, it doesn't matter. Just so long as you hit the head, it's an immediate kill. Even if you miss the head, it most likely will instead hit the legs.
Also the Arc Thrower can kill a Bile Titan when it’s about to vomit at you.
Fun fact; before you shoot a charger with an eat-17, keep it on your back and call in a fresh stratagem so it sticks on the charger! The hell pod will kill and now you have more AT for the next charger pack or bile Titan
Nice video, good tips man.
I really appreciate the different music in the video instead of the Loading music on loop
im a sucker for editing in my own tunes lol
@@Nasdorachiseriously, great to see some variety in background music.
You can destroy spore spewers from across the map with the slugger as well in about 8-10 shots you don't have to use explosives like most people think
I can confirm that while inside the mech, the shield will tank a direct hit from a missile. Extremely useful against bots specifically.
For chargers, I found that if you throw any support stratagem at a charger, and it sticks to them, it can also one shot any chargers. One EAT stratagem can potential kill 3 chargers
Pro tip: Drop your samples off at extract especially if you are carrying a lot or have super samples nd pick them up when it time to extract. This saves you from the pain of returning to an area contested with enemies. You can also drop them of at accessible location before engaging a fight or objective so it doesn't get lost in the chaos.
yeah i covered this somewhere near the end.
How do you drop samples?
@@StormEagle5press X and select what to drop
Some weapons can be reloaded before the final round is fired allowing you to have one in the chamber in addition to the full magazine.
I just wish the mech would give you a grace period to get out before it blows you up. Like "destruction imminent, 3 seconds to evacuate" or something. Also, you still take damage after using a stim. It just has a HoT effect. Saying it's an invulnerability window is incorrect, and I don't want people blaming you for trying to stim and tank a spewer or titan spit or charger charge or something. In fact, it only takes about 9-10 hunters to completely negate the effect of a stim and kill you through it's healing.
an eject button with funny ragdoll physics would be great lol
@@Nasdorachi I'd be fine with that lol
I believe it should depend on a damage. Something like a shot from a cannon should Explode it IMO
slugger breaks garage doors with one shot, light fencing and boxes with multiple shots destroy research outpost, only requires the building with a dish on top to be destroyed, which can be done with orbital stratagems or just drop a resupply or the nuke on it with the call down ball.
great tips, btw you can switch off the helmet it got fixed, it doesnt give you speedboost anymore.
I wear this one cause it's the only hooded helmet and I like the aesthetic lol
Playing difficulty 7 just to show some tips and tricks - a true death captain!!!
Thanks, great video
Also there’s enough of a time window to call in an EAT and use it against a drop ship the second you see a red flare get shot in the air. Just aim for the jet boosters in the corners.
Yeah that could come in super clutch with a squad that's on-point. You could knock out most reinforcements before they even arrive.
Look at the mission modifiers. Sometimes, they increase how long it takes for the EAT to drop. On those missions, I bring the recoiless and coordinate with my team to see if anyone wants to team reload. It's great for harder difficulties because you can drop 3+ drop ships. Not to mention any tanks and hulks they drop off as well.
@@axel8406 i’ll keep that in mind. Thanks!
@AwwhHex no problem. I love the EAT, but those modifiers make it so you might get one dropship if three come.
You can "use" Charger's Charge to kill another charger or bug hole
This vid is top tier..didn't know any of these
appreciate you for checking it out!
The kid is back! Lessgooooo 🤌🏼🔥
You not using your impact grenades to take out those big clusters of bugs is giving me hives.
i wasnt really concentrating on playing well, morseso presenting all the tips. lol. (I blew up my own mech while messing around lol)
A master diver, like myself, simply dodges the drop pod, with precise timing, whenever it's beacon sticks to them
Great tips!
If you’re in your mech you can one shot a charger with a middle. Wait for him to charge at and run at you for a little bit and then aim for the head and they go flying. Arc thrower opens doors and pretty much everything you said was things I do lol
The grenade and weapon control tips were helpful🔥🔥
I used my SOS beacon ALL the time before wasting grenades
Level 30... still learning, some great tips there fella xD
great vid mate, thx
You had me at “extra grenade” 🥰😍😘
I don't think people appreciate how amazing the HMG emplacement is. Its a staple of mine, when placed in a good position it can wipe out hordes of bugs with ease, has saved so many matches having that stratagem.
i usually bring that for the eradication missions, or the mech now.
@@Nasdorachi Same, but also larger maps too. Perch it up high and mow down bug breaches or defend while an objective is being done. When used right it's invaluable imo and much easier to avoid friendly fire than eagle call.
@@Nasdorachi And if paired with recoiless and stun grenades you can step off it stun everything and take out the chargers before they destroy it.
I tried out all the primaries and braker in my opinion is still best, I think the nerf was to scare people into trying new things but it still has long Range, mid range, short range, stoping power, chaf clear, speed, etc. It’s the same gun it was with 3 less shells.
The grenade glitch also works with the Supply pack. And it seems to only work if you are using a controller, all my Kb&m friends cant do it. This has been in game since day one.
If someone has a supply pack and has used a supply, the resupply both gives them supplies and resupplies the supply pack
Not true. I've been doing the nade trick since the first week on pc with kb&m. Works woth 2-3/4 and 4-5/6 to give you 5/4 or 7/6. I do this every single game, and yes supply packs also work for it
Thank you Dax Sheperd
You can shoot spore mushroom if you see it even with primary weapon
Its officially called knob rock between me and my friends
Sickle is the new meta primary, imo. If you work it right, basically unlimited ammo.
Weapon swap tip is gonna save me big time
A better tip for the chargers, instead of wasting a orbital strike, you can dodge him and when his butt is pointing towards you, throw a impact grenade at his butthole. If thrown correctly his butt will explode and he will be on a (i think) 10 sec timer, after that he's dead. So when his butt exploded, just dodge for a few sec and he's dead. With 4 grenades you can take out 4 chargers if done correctly
Guess you can shoulder check a charging charger in a mech and it will stop him. Cool.
Something that has come up in the 5 days since this was posted is the new Warbond. The Sickle Laser rifle found there is one of the best primary weapons in the game. It's a very good, highly accurate laser assault rifle that has no recoil and effectively unlimited ammo if used correctly. The stun grenade found there is damned useful too. I am told the pistol is also good but I don't have personal experience with it
yeah ive gotten it and the plasma punisher (grenade launcher) shotgun lol. still a ways off from the final page/guns but ill try to make a new video this week just to update things. I saw a new version of the mech leaked that has 4 autocannons on it also!
@@NasdorachiI am a little newer to the game and don't have the warbond unlocked far enough to get the slugger, I'd add that the early unlock Punisher is a fantastic gun too. It's my go to even over the Breaker. It doesn't have the long range punch or armor pen of the Slugger but it has a much higher base damage and it has a knockback to it. That knockback is damned useful. It can interrupt the bug multihit melee combo. It can also open paths in herds of bugs to keep you from getting stuck in. I didn't know your reload trick with the Slugger but it must work with the Punisher to.
Pair the stun with 500k bomb for easy confirmed kill on bile titans.
we call that rock "Dwayne"
Automaton fighter here i got a tip that sadly most people don’t do till they’re low on stims Remember your ABC’s Always Be taking Cover and try to avoid getting pinned it’s best to shoot and skoot but still keep your head on a swivel and you eyes on the map so your cover isn’t just 50% effective And by GOD if there’s any bots in the distance walking around leave them BE Less Lasers flying towards you and your squad is always better
I miss Chrono Trigger, good soundtrack 😊 made me think bile spitters was Lavos spawn haha
Damn, I didnt even catch the chrono trigger until you said something. How did I miss it??
On the precision strike on Chargers, the devs have confirmed reds not tracking their beacons is a bug not a feature so this will be even easier eventually.
16:41 I noticed when I have a lot of samples and I want to drop them, it doesn't drop all the samples and some still stay with me which is very annoying bug. Not sure if you encountered this?
Charger Orbital Strike tip probably won't work on a mission with the Complex Strategem Plotting that increases the deployment time.
no, but it's more a tip that any level player can do, even new ones. if youre experienced then the buffs to the headshot meta for EAT's and Recoilless rifle is a great option. also if you run circles around the charger it wont move till it lines up a new charge, you could in theory use this technique for complex strat missions.
Good shit! 🥂
Nice video. what amor are you running in the beginning?
I cover it at the very end of the video! i believe it's the legionnaire light armor, throw distance buff and +50% limb health
I knew almost none of these! I usually just shoot everything that moves. Now I'll be a better player.
I'm a simple man. I hear chrono trigger music, I like and subscribe.
The pump action shot gun has a glitch. That lets you continuously reload the gun without any animation I haven't figured out exactly how to do it. I just mash the fire, dive, and reload buttons and it'll happen, usually because I'm being swarmed and and panicking hitting those buttons. You hear you reloading sound effect and you're will see you clip count increase but you can fire and look around like nothing going happening
yeah i triggered that at 15:40 in this video and you can see it in action lol
Must've been hunters
