    • Brake tests are a bit if a parlor trick though since it's entirely determined by the size of your front tires, you could equip any passenger car with massive front tires and stop just as fast as the Senna. Ordinary brakes actually stop just fine so you won't lose a braking contest with consumer model brakes, what cheap brake pads can't do is stop from 200MPH repeatedly, you get to do that once and then the pads need replacing.

    • @@budthecyborg4575 "Brake tests are a bit if a parlor trick though since it's entirely determined by the size of your front tires" LOLWUT not even close. Don't oversimplify things. A 1700kg passenger car, no matter WHAT size front tires it had, would NEVER be able to out-stop a Senna weighing 400kg less. Period. Mass and braking calibration play a huge role, as do tire compounds (not just tire sizes).

  • I’m Brazilian and my family was raised watching F1 and we love SENNA. There are lots of funny stories people have no clue about if SENNA. One of the stories I’ll say here because it’s 100% true because he admitted to this was of how many fender benders he got into in São Paulo Brazil. Hahahaha He would race and drive fast everywhere he went and would always get into a accident. They where never big ones but most where his fault. People would get out of their cars pissed until they realized who was driving. The joke was that people loved those stories and never got upset but loved getting into those accidents purely for the story. He would always race anywhere he needed to get to anywhere in the city or anywhere in Brazil.

The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is faster than a BMW M5 CS on the track while just being rwd and a manual, and also faster than a Ferrari 458. The GT500 is also a great track performer. Not going to mention Corvette though since those have always been track focused grand tourers

    • Yes it can do that, but only after you've spent 15 - 20 minutes waiting for the battery to reach the right temperature. And then you can't do it again for another 20 minutes because everything needs to cool down first. The brakes are also an issue, I saw a side-by-side comparison between a Model 3 and a Polestar 2 doing multiple consecutive 100 - 0 km/h brake tests. The polestar consistently stopped at 41 meters while the Tesla stopped at 42, 44 and 47 meters and then they couldn't go on because the brakes had gotten too hot. Granted this isn't an everyday scenario but when going down a steep road in the Alps I'd still prefer to be in the Polestar.

    • If both went 100 mph and fully braked at the cones, then using the most technologically advanced method I have available (equally-sized lines copy & pasted in MS Paint), it seems that the F-Type was only 60% done braking, meaning it was still going around 40 mph. Going that fast into wall would probably kill you, as far as I know.

  • @0:14 -- @The Grand Tour: What is with all of the camera theatrics? Is it because the car cannot stand on its own merit; that it needs your post-processing edits to "fake" fastness? When you did lap times on Top Gear, you let us watch the cars perform. Yet, here, you deny us that viewing. Where is the footage of the Senna launching and traveling down the track, all by a single camera angle (or two, perhaps), where we could watch the car take off as though we were there and watching? The way you edited this video, my 2003 Nissan Sentra could be made to look like a super-car.

    • All those paragraphs because you're supposedly being denied to see the car performing at the track? Just watch the actual episode and you will see just that AFTER Jeremy's review. Absolutely nothing different from Top Gear. A review with some action sequences and camera tricks and AFTER that, back to the studio to see the lap. You could just look for the actual episodes to see that instead of typing all that nonsense.
