That Elantra really put up a fight for the integra on the roll race, that was honestly very impressive
Yeah it’s pretty good especially considering it costs like 20 grand less
Fun fact elantra N is faster than gr corolla in roll race
@@Courtesyflush52 Power difference too
@@AwkwardYet not by much though, if any at all. The Type S is rated at 305hp at the crank, but the Elantra N has a 276 horsepower rating at the wheels, so at the crank it’s likely closer to 295-300
@@Courtesyflush52lol that's not correct brother
The N makes a compelling case, the other two are not $15-20K better strictly from a performance perspective.
The N is definitely the best dollar for performance value wise but if money is part of your buying factor also take into account that in 5-10 years the type s will hold much more value then the N. So you would probably end up loosing more money with the N in the long term
My friend. If Hyundai decides to make the EN wider, add real sporty brakes, add wider tires and reinforce the chassis to remove braces that gap will be reduced considerably. Those little things is what make cars like the CTR and the ITS have a performance advantage in the turns over the EN. The EN is a great car but still inferior.
@@Marbindit's inferior on purpose, they want it to undercut the other cars. They could offer a better car but it would be similarly priced and then people would probably pick the staples such as the CTR. But now it offers 95% of the CTR performance for 80 % of the cost, thus being a good value and being able to draw some customers away
They actually are, especially around a track. And the Type S and R will hold they're value waaay better over the long-term.
@@jec20721correct, the CTR and ITS maintain their value quite well, while the Elantra N depreciates relatively worse.
N wins this one for price range - the ITS barely pulled away from a roll. I own a FK8 and the N is so close in performance and price is amazing for what you get
Loses for reliability.
Can't have it all.
It’s a Hyundai…… embarrassing.
Yes, it is impressive for the price. It's a shame Hyundai still has such a negative reputation, most of the people complaining here can't afford either 😂
Everyone in the comments is apparently the worlds best shifter 😂
all are racing drivers
Don’t let this distract you from the fact Sam does shift slow
Strawman argument. If they found legitimate mistakes, it's fair game, as he uploaded himself racing.
*hits the rev limiter in 3rd gear in an AWD car* "I spun! I'm spinning!"
hahhaaa...yea i thought that odd
yeah i never really trust any of the races this guy does cause its always really bad lmao
Haha
He gets spanked all the time
pretty much sums up this channel and its credibility in one go lol....
He’s shifting that golf like it’s his second race in the world. The golf will dog them off the line and the teg don’t have the balls to catch in the end if he would have launched the golf at 3k hawk even 4k
The final drag race edited out the start and Sam left the line on the first drag race without max revs??? DSG is much better suited to a heavy AWD car.
Its because this guy has a vendetta against anything VW. It's obvious how he stages his "races". Pretty sure he's driving in eco mode and doesn't know how to use boost either.. lol
GOLF R IS made FOR DSG, juste 0-100 on the DSG is 4 sec vs Carl with is 6 sec
DSG is boring and takes no skill to stab at the gas pedal with your foot. I have had three DSG equipped cars.
@@GTIMAN2010 blah blah blah i am not driving manual in LA rush hour
@@howled0- or Toronto rush hour. Got rid of my manual for a faster DSG!
You have the Choice between one if the best automatic or a chocolat Clutch...sad
maybe people like cars past a 0-60 or 0-100 statistic. Unless you are taking it to the track how much does it really matter? Immature car enthusiasts really just can't understand this concept. If you want to see DSG, go watch a DSG video. Just so stupid seeing this same comment over and over
For those questioning the price difference between the EN and ITS. I invite you to compare just the front area after removing the wheels. You will understand why one is cheaper and the other costs more. Craftsmanship on the ITS is in another level above the EN.
Yes it's fancier, nobody doubts that. I'd be absolutely EMBARRASSED to barely walk away from a car that apparently doesn't compete.

Granny shifting. Racing manual, it's always driver’s race.
I'm glad to see the Type-S did very well... to bad it's a sleeper to most consumers except car enthusiasts, of course
As long as the enthusiasts keep buying the spicy Integra, Acura will keep making it.
@@drivescene6747 valid point
It's just a Civic Type-R re-bodied and re-badged. Enthusiasts will always buy Civic's. That's the only reason they made they Acura again.
@@carlospacheco8640 it’s always been a rebadged Civic. It’s not the only reason Acura exists.
@@drivescene6747 I know that. Not sure if you live in the US or not? Because the old 190hp Intergra Type-R B18 was the only 190hp Honda available here (Civic Type-R was never sold here). That's what made the Integra popular in the US to begin with. Thus, the only reason they made a new one is because the Civic Type-R sold well. The Civic was a test for the Integra. It's all marketing. If you think not, then you know nothing a running a business. Always remember big car companies don't really care about enthusiasts. Just money they provide. Why do you think the A80 Supra/RX-7/300zx/3000gt were all axed in the 90s here = Bad Sales.
Everyone’s always mad when you compare manual cars to automatics. Then when you actually make a race with an even playing field everyone starts racing to the comments about how the automatic woulda been better 😂. DSG crutch boys losing it right now.
They're mad because he's making and selling sandwiches between his shifts or the matches are mehh. Unlike Carwow, this guy doesn't bang gears.
ITS is literally all about 'iVTEC kicked in yo!' moments in this one. Great closing disclaimer though. Each have VERY different personalities.
320 hp vs 276hp wow
@@popsandbangs8858 but think that elantra N is designed specifically for races which means it has engine and suspension has been tuned specifically for races moreover it is lighter comapared to others...others don't have specific race tuned engine and suspension..yet they detroyed elantra N...accept it or not any hyundai from technical perspective are lackluster...
@@rahulmondal3444 I wouldn't let the Type-S luxury fool you. It's based off the same platform the FL5 Civic Type-R, the same car that set the record time for fastest front wheel driven car at Nürburgring
Integra Type S comes standard with dash light that comes on in upper rpm range that say, "VTEC engaged Yo"
@@rahulmondal3444I don’t really know what you mean by the car being designed “specifically for races.” The ITS is a very close sibling to the civic type r which is designed from the ground up for track use so I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make there. Not to mention that Honda has been doing this stuff for YEARS while this is pretty much Hyundai’s first attempt at a performance car. Sure the Hyundai is lighter but it’s only by about 40ish pounds and it has a 44hp deficit compared to the ITS. And it’s also 20k cheaper. I think overall the Hyundai put in a great effort and to call Hyundais work lackluster here is just completely wrong.
Hi Sam, forgot the most important info, the price! Good job! My guest is that the N is 10k cheaper then the other two..
Yeah, the price difference is obliterated on resale when you realize the hyundai didn't hold any value. Used 2017 CTRs are still selling for just about msrp. The dealer that I traded my '22 elantra n into (with 45k miles) had it sitting on the lot for almost 2 months at 26k, so guessing g they took less than that in the end.
@@vjdfl5Imagine resale value being a deciding factor for a car you buy 🤡
@Symphoniics who said it was a deciding factor? You're still gonna be the clown when you to sell that thing tho 🤣 😂
@@vjdfl5 Bruh, you are dense asf
@@vjdfl5Nice! Speculation is always good to include in an anecdotal story. In my area, a 24 ITS has been sitting for nearly 2 months at 52k. I'd rather pay half and get a used EN at that point.
Fun fact: caranddriver recently did a 0-150-0mph test and the Ealntra N DCT was over 5 seconds quicker in the test versus the latest Type R. Main reason is likley the spoiler Honda added that is not as aerodynamically designed as ths previous FK8. That is likley why the FL5 is slighy slower than the FK8 in roll races. Id imagine the Integra Type S would be closer to the elantra N 0-150-0 test
1) It was a manual EN 2) CTR/ITS gearing isn't optimized for high speed stuff 3) The ITS will have a similar CTR outcome due to the improper gearing for high speed stuff. 4 vs 3 Final Drive ratios is a LOT.
@@Marbind I musta have misread it. I assumed it was a DCT. If it's a manual that's even more impressive because the DCT models are much quicker although maybe similar to 150mph. Also car and driver themselves cited it was drag from the spoiler causing it's weaker performance. The gearing in the Type R is perfectly fine even if it's a bit taller. Have you ever seen a Camaros gearing? That is the definition of a tall gear lol
@@ayushmalpeddi2793 People confuse tall with high gearing ratios. The higher the ratios the lower is the top speed ceiling. CTRs ratios are pretty high. EN are lower The Camaro has even lower ratios.

That damn Elantra is crazy, no way it kept up with a vehicle that has nearly 50 more hp.

Golf wasn’t even on boost in the roll races 😂😂😂
DSG Golf R would walk all those cars easily in roll or dig. R is hampered badly with the manual. Wasn't designed with a manual in mind yet everyone compares the manual.
Dct Elantra would be closer.
I mean considering I’ve walked a dsg MK8R in a roll your sentiment isn’t completely accurate. I was Octane leaned. Non octane learned in a roll he had me by a car length. Much closer than you want to admit.
carwow did a race between golf r and new type r and it won in drag and roll races so this channel is either biased or manual is bad or they can't change gears

@@MaxMediaGroupLLC The surface doesn't look nearly as prepped as a proper drag strip. That alone could easily make up the difference...
The Golf R with DSG will beat all these cars and it's the must livable and practical car here. The Elantra is the Best Value. The Acura is good but the most expensive by quite a sum at least here in the USA.
Golf r is also better mod for mod. Shit my mk7 gti makes 530whp with under $6000 in mods. You can’t beat that. Will also make the most on stock motor. EQT currently has 473whp out of the mk8 golf r with just an intake, intercooler, and E85. The new hybrid turbo is amazing.

@@FB6K24Z7 "it did fairly well." No, no it didn't. Why are you a Honda piss baby? "It's a heavier car." Did you watch the video? The weight difference is 30LBS. That's nothing- that could be made up for by having different sized drivers. alone. Absolute blinding moron The Elantra N absolutely dogged on the ITS whilst being $32K and that's an absolutely pathetic showing from the miles more expensive ITS. It's once again a horrific showing from Acura they're slower than effectively all competitors. Not to mention you cannot get it with an automatic- the automatic versions of the other cars which have DCT's would absolutely trounce it.
I drive an EN. I like both the Golf R and the Type S. I always see the EN compared at much higher price points. Kind of expect the EN to lose when its under power in comparison but did well. The manual will be slower than the DCT but i love to row my own gears. The EN wasnt built to be a drag car anyway but still fun!
Ive seen all kinds of videos golf R beating N big time, why this one it lost? I don't get it? Do we blame on the car, or the drivers? I have a golf R and just dragged with my friend's N, he couldn't even catch up, even I let him run first a bit and he still lost, and I just don't get it why in this video the R lost big time.........
The N is a solid car . I'd buy one but correct I've never seen a stock N in any tranny beating a Golf R except for this channel. Lol.
Octane learned and non octane learned make a huge difference. Over 1/2 a second over the 1/4 and trap 5-6 mph faster over non octane learned. Octane learning makes 40+ wtq more and 20-40whp more over non ol. Octane learned I’ve walked a MK8R dsg. Non octane learned he walked me. It makes that much of a difference sadly, it’s the most stupid thing Hyundai could’ve put in the EN. And it’s ridiculously so much harder to octane learn the manual over the DCT.

Predictable outcomes, but very interesting to see. The Elantra N continues to punch above its weight (the DSG would take the Integra S in a roll I bet), the Golf R uses its AWD and power very well, and Honda products are as good as ever. Thanks for keeping these coming!
Why not the 2024 Hyundai Elantra N ? I don’t like manual transmission like I gotta keep doing this with my hand😎
Does it make more bhp?
@@SamCarLegion Nope
Purposely sandbagged the Golf R times. Not one channel, publication, test, etc. anywhere had a result like this. Kind of comical
I must say that the N did a really good job with 40 Hp less.
Underrated. In reality it has more hp.
@@Eugen-Edepends on the fuel. If they go 91-93 octane, it should be near 300-310. Regardless, for a full 10k less than the golf r, it really shows how incredible it is
@@Eugen-E in Germany the N has 20 HP more as Hyundai claimed 😅
You guys should let us know if Elantra N is octane learner or not since it makes a good difference
Not only you hate to dragrace fwd, but any Man hate to drive fwd, especially if he like to drive kind a sport style in any road conditions. FWD is useful for my grandmother when she goes to shopping at hipermarket 😂
A real man just drive and doesn't complain about any of this.
@@Marbind did you feel.. mentioned in my opinion above🤣? Ok baby, , keep considering "FWD are SAFER" and any other propaganda bullshit which could be easy eaten by those with modest math-IQ level and those which always skipped physics courses in the school 🤣
Awesome to get this line up of cars... The elantra n is a huge value to be 30% less and just a smidge behind
Acura is the supreme one…and a luxury brand vs the other mainstream cars. No comparison.
Korea left the chat 😂😂
It costs 50% more than the Hyundai and was even on the roll, that's pathetic. These are performance cars. The Acura is based on a Honda and has weak luxury doesn't even have rear heated seats
@@roboticvenom1935 Even if it was for an inch a win is a win. The EN can be cheaper but that car is so ugly that should be considered a capital sin. But things dont end up there. Chassis needs visible brace support behind the seats, no real performance brakes, no wide body, no wide tires. All those little things add up and for that reason it always ends behind the CTR and the ITS. The only area that is better is in straight line acceleration but only applies to the DCT.
@@Marbindat least the Elantra won’t over heat like the Fl5 the Elantra is honestly more track ready completely stock it doesn’t need any cooling mods just tires, brake pads and camber.

How did you come up with that?
Yeah sure 🤦🏻♂️

@Nbaby-jjusjjoe wasn't this N octane learned yet 😂
If costs 50% more than the Elantra you dingus
If I had to choose, it would be the n. With the hopes that a tune would match the other two's power. But I would go with my wrx though. Same price as the n, but with only 4k beats all of them with 400hp at the wheel.
Your shifting and rpm control for a drag race is off my man
Thanks for sharing and your drag racing 🏁 is fun, but track is what Honda is about.
My guy in the type s can shift.
Dude he shift quick but someone dared to say that it was a slowshifter that doesn't know how to drive a manual.
@@Marbind maybe they meant the commentator sucks. He always shifts slow. But to be fair it isn't his car so he doesn't want to hurt it and he also isn't nearly as familiar with it as the owner. That's why I wish he would have stayed in the Acura and not moved over to the vw. that skewed the results imo.
@@nvrdwn3140 Nope, he meant the non host guy.
That's who should've driven the elantra
@@viewsunderscope The elantra guy did a good job too. It was shifting super fast.
im sure both the type-s and golf-r will hands down be faster than the N.. but there's a reason why price isn't show here lol. At this price point should be throwing in m340i and other 50-60k competitors..
Everybody knows the EN is the best bang for the buck. I could have bought a M340i but I wanted a long term car with excellent overall performance and a manual transmission. The M340 performs really well but lacks that manual transmission, their value tank at a fast rate and their aren't known for a pleasant long term experience. So, the acura wins.
I would be curious of the tires
Not much. Is cold very cold outside, tires and cold don't work together really well.
@@Marbind thanks... I meant pilot sport 4s, continental, etc
@@marcjones744 The EN and the ITS come with the PS4S, not sure about the Golf. But all these cars are located in canada, the temps still very cold so is very probable that they are running cold friend tires that with reduced grip.
For the price, that Hyundai is impressive. But wow that type s is mean looking in black.
Golf R’s manuals are to slow , DSG is better
Long throw
They can't be launched hard either.
Full second slower to 60 and 1/4 mile. 😂
They are all manuals bro
Let’s see how many people ask if Elantra N was Octane Learned? 😆 love my N super fun car 💪🙂
yeah as an N owner i know if it was octane learned it would’ve performed a lot better!
Another "con" for the EN. The ITS doesn't need to be octane learned. I don't know what the koreans were thinking about when they implemented this over complicated hassle.
@@Marbind yup no idea brother, I guess they were bored haha 😆
No spoilers... I didnt see that coming with round 2
Real winner of this one is the integra like it or not 🤷🏻
"like it or not." So is we have a BMW m240i vs the ITS then who's the real winner? The Integra is not a real winner starting SIDE BY SIDE the Elantra N which is a $32K car. That's PATHETIC given its price. What a low performance vehicle LOL, and they have the option for automatic which is what most buyers will get and will smoke that Integra
@@roboticvenom1935someone clearly isn’t a Honda fan… you’re comparing a car with close to 400 horsepower AND potentially optioned in AWD AND an i6. The BMW is priced better because the type-s is literally 10x more desirable by the car community and ITS is a 4 door hatch (meaning they’re in completely different classes…) And yes, they still sell more integra Type-S’ than the 240i’s. You really seem to have no clue what you’re talking about.. the Elantra N is a great car for the money, but you’re not buying an Elantra N to keep them for 30 years lol keep reading motor trend magazines and car and driver reviews!
@@roboticvenom1935 I traded in a G42 M240 for an ITS and couldn’t be happier. So much more engaging to drive on the day to day and I’ll take the added practicality of the backseat and hatch. The M240 from a dig is blisteringly fast but the lack of manual is just sad. The B58 is legendary.
Literally almost the same price as aq50/q60 red sport 😂 still will smoke all 3
Hyundai brokeboys only know one flavor - salty.
The Golf 8 R in reality has 340hp (check dyno runs from germany mcchip). And the Elantra N has about 300hp.
yes thats right 👍
North American and Australian golf R's are detuned compared to euro versions I think
@@ZimConstantine Officially the same HP. In most cases is viceversa because the emission regulations are stricter in Europe.
@@Eugen-Ebro he is telling you the truth the American ones are detuned 5-10 horsepower go do some research
@@joshuapounds7646 No. That's the difference between brake horsepower (used in USA) and metric HP (used in Europe).
Focus Rs? 3.5 V6s, 3.0s, Small block V8s. Relics lol we didn't have drag channels like this to compare.
You shoud compare DCT version of Elantra N with Golf R. Compared with 6-speed MT EN, 8-speed DCT EN(which us more expencive by only USD1,500) is faster by 1.x sec in drag. 8-speed DCT EN which is cheaper by USD10,000 than Golf R(MT) is faster in all cases (Drag, Roll, and on tracks) than Golf R(6-speed MT). Compared with EN(8-speed DCT), Golf R(7-speed DSG) shows the advantages of high power. However, EN(DCT) which is a coner rascal could win Golf R(7-speed DSG) on tracks.

Can you let a golf r Driver Drive a golf R
Who hired this guy? He can’t shift to save his life.
ITS and Golf R Race, The guy driving the Integra doesn't know how to drive and shift for crap. Should have put someone who knows how to shift. That guy was literally fighting the car every shift. I know that because ITS beats the GOLF R in draggy. Sam you got to get good drivers who actually knows how to shift. Dead were turning in the graves every time he shifted.
Guy in Type S is a great driver
Disagree, the ITS driver did an outstanding job given the conditions. Is a faster shifter than Sam. Look again. In cold weather is very but very unlikely that a FWD will have enough grip to be able to take out a Golf R from a dig. Draggy still a simulation.
