Maybe that coyota just moved after you sent that first shot on its way. Were you keen to not loose dog into the forest edge..Remember my first kill with my new 3006. NZ back country. On the hunt for Red deer, chamois or Thar. Long day walking and helicopters had spooked the animals. Out of desperation my hunting buddy and I began shouting at top of our voices near a creek conference with a river. A chamois poked its head over the top of a log. Was a 400yard uphill shot. Great rest amonst the large river boulders. My buddy backed me up with his 243. Let rip and chamois disappeared. We made the treck up this steep creek. Found the log and lying in a patch of sand was a good sized doe. Dead centre and back head gone. Dressed animal out and then had long walk back to the motorcycles. The game packers would buy fresh kills if you left kidneys and liver in. This was about 45 years ago. Think go about equivalent of a weeks wages for that animal..

Thanks pal! And I usually run howls on about 18-22 volume...depending on terrain...wide open flats I'll run it a bit higher.. but if I'm tucked back in a valley with ridges all around the call really echoes and sounds loud so Ill run it about 18-20...

A coyote is a coyote...only time there is a preference is if a pair comes in...then if your good enough to tell which one the female is (9/10 times the smaller dog) than you would want to shoot the female, in hopes the male comes back looking for her when you play a pup distress immediately after the first shot!

Finally caught up with the action boss. Have been missing too many of your videos. Like you’re new torch. What model Tikka? You may need to re-range scope.
I’ve been watching your videos, I know you’re ethical your kills are always quick. I have a question? We’re you shooting handloads?? The reason the shot was bad I believe is there was something wrong with the load; I watched this on big screen and not only can you see the trail, you can actually see the bullet or something going along with it(debris of some kind?)and this can be seen in real time. The trajectory also doesn’t look right especially for a 22.250 or 243, doesn’t seem flat early on, big arc. Watch the video on big screen and if you can, do it frame by frame, you will see what I mean. You might want to chronograph this lot of loads and compare with another lot, because there was definitely something not right.
@t.o.3522 Жыл бұрын
@T. O. I did see that..I believe it was the bullet, I don't think anything was wrong, sometimes conditions can be just perfect to see shit like that..also I was on a big hill shooting somewhat downward..the trajectory seemed good to me...at 340 that's like a 8 inch drop for my ballistics...

That's hunting boys. Wish this cold would stick around I broke a dry spell last night with a double and missed 2. Keep the fur flying
Believe it or not I think more mild temperatures make for better hunting! Ever since it got reallll cold I been struggling a bit!
I’m a big fan..
Every rifle is different but running tape from the stock over the barrel can change the harmonics of the barrel and affect accuracy. Nice shot at 340 anyway!
Thanks buddy!
hello, bro, can you please write the name, model and brand of that jackal calling device?, I want to buy it from him, thank you in advance...
Luckyduck roughneck
Are you required to do anything with the coyote or notify the DNR?
No sir!
Good Job! Great shot, especially in that temperature..
Thanks tom! It was a rushed shot and uneven ground! I wasn't very steady when I touched the trigger off...
Congratulations
Thanks man!
What snow camo are you wearing?
Kings camo!
what happened to the Browning 22-250
Still got it...but wanted this tikka!
He definitely seemed to take a step when I touched off!!!
Nice looking rifle 👍
Thanks Steve, I like it!!
Nice job.
Thanks!
Great hunt!
Thank you l!
Why?
That will definitely save alot of fawns !
You betcha!!
Thank you for this video. Good hunt, and good hunting! Subscribed.
Thanks appreciate it
Way to make it happen!!
Thanks!!!!!!
Love those Tikkas
They are phenomenal rifles
How windy is too windy to go? 15 mph?
15mph is no big deal! I hunt winds 0-20ish....anymore than that I usually don't go or I get in a deep valley or somewhere where it isn't blowing hard!
What kind of bullet you using
50 grain superformance

@WisconsinCoyoteCallin thanks for the information. Stay safe.
Nice poke! Nice rifle! Congrats 👏
Thanks for watchin!!!
very nice
Awesome brother!! That was a great shot and he was getting ready to exit the field right at the time you let'er rip. Awesome video brother and stay safe!!
Thanks man!!!
Good read on the body language. You prob wouldnt have seen her again once she hit the woodline.
For sure, thats why I had to swing and take the shot as quick as I could, because she was gone once she hit the woods!
Is that the 1-8" or 1-14" Super Varmint? What weight projectile were you using? Decent shot distance, well done
1:14 with 50 grain superformance
Nice one, I was looking at getting the same rifle. How are you finding it?
@@craig6809 I found it online at beararmsco.com They shipped it from Missouri to the closest shop with a FFL
Norske Nook!
Great shooting! Which bullet did you use, and did you just holdover or dial?
Dialed, and Hornady 50 grain superformance
@@wisconsincoyotecallin8620 Thx man. : )
Nice shot from that distance Is that the varmint T3x?? How heavy is it combined with the swaggers ??
Thanks!! and yes it's the super varmint t3x...I belive it's 8.5lbs bare gun, so with scope and swagger It should be just about 11lbs all setup
@@wisconsincoyotecallin8620 Great video. Tikka's are great. But trying to find someone that carries the caliber and model one wants is a pain. I have looked in the Chicago, Cities and now WI area to find one. What a pain We're you on public or private land? Keep yp the good work.
Good of you to track em down and put her out of her misery. The shot was good but when you pulled the trigger she moved, that sometimes happens... Good video btw
Yeah I noticed she just started to take a step..but it looked like I still would have hit her in the guts! My first coyote I killed this year I tracked over 2 miles..hit it far back and finally ran it down and finished it off...I don't like when animals suffer, I always do as much as I am able to finish the job..
You had a pretty good strut there at the start ,lol . That vapor trails is so neat! And that's a great shot!!!! By the way what's all the tracks in the snow where the coyote was?
Lol you like that walk! Haha..my over camo was falling off because pants are a bit big and had stuff in pockets weighing them down off waist..lol...those were mainly deer tracks by the coyote
"great" shot?? smh
My younger brother walk on the tree line not the open field so they can see you, for if other's see you they will run the other way, back into the woods. Never give up of where you are to them. Old Master Gunnery SGT USMC. For if you blend into the back ground they have a problem to see you. Do you get my drift, my younger brother.
Yes sir
You hear that crow? He was probably tracking your dog. It is common to see crows following. Great chance for leftovers.
That's awesome!
That’s some nice country! Nice poke on that one.
That's Steve!!!
Idk if I would wrap your free floated barrel to your stock.
I don't have it very tight...seems to shoot fine at range wrapped up...
I never turn the call off. They may stop but they immediately resort to their nose
Is there a BLM call ?
If you can not get a clean shot dont take it
Sure thing Peter peter
Great shot! That isn't easy to do on a coyote size target. Now the tikka is broken in. Do you run your caller on full volume for the howls? I can not believe all the poor shot comments. Have you guys ever shot at a yote at any distance? It is not as easy as you think. This one moved at the last split second witch does not help a bit. Get over yourself guys.
Thanks pal! And I usually run howls on about 18-22 volume...depending on terrain...wide open flats I'll run it a bit higher.. but if I'm tucked back in a valley with ridges all around the call really echoes and sounds loud so Ill run it about 18-20...
Nice shot with your new gun ,it looks like a beauty . Happy hunting.
Thanks for watching john..I like it so far!
Love my Tikka! You will not outshoot that Tikka for many years. Peace Be The Journey!
Is there any preference to take males v females or vice versa?
A coyote is a coyote...only time there is a preference is if a pair comes in...then if your good enough to tell which one the female is (9/10 times the smaller dog) than you would want to shoot the female, in hopes the male comes back looking for her when you play a pup distress immediately after the first shot!
@@wisconsincoyotecallin8620 awesome, thanks for the insight!! Great videos, I’ve learned a lot!!
@@wisconsincoyotecallin8620 you're* good then* you
Finally caught up with the action boss. Have been missing too many of your videos. Like you’re new torch. What model Tikka? You may need to re-range scope.
Tikka t3x super varmint in 22-250...
Is that the 1-8 twist what pills you pushing
@@ffvg9909 1:14 twist...50 grain Hornady superformance
@T. O. I did see that..I believe it was the bullet, I don't think anything was wrong, sometimes conditions can be just perfect to see shit like that..also I was on a big hill shooting somewhat downward..the trajectory seemed good to me...at 340 that's like a 8 inch drop for my ballistics...
You're more than welcome to come do some calling at my place!
Where you located!!?
@@wisconsincoyotecallin8620 eau claire. I don't have a lot of property but if you were in the area it would be a nice quick stop and try
Nice shot. Love your videos. What kind of camera do you use to record hunts?
Canon xa20
Great job.
Thanks ryan!!!
You made the right call, he seemed like he was gonna head into the woods and try to close the distance. He would’ve got your wind by that point I bet. Good call to shoot him there. Marginal hit but, did the job. Didn’t go far.
Absolutely! Thanks for watchin!!!
Insane vapor trail? There was hardly a vapor trail, good shot though.
You don't have the brightness on your phone up, or the quality up or somethiin...because it's there...lol
Why kill an animal for no reason? What do you do with the carcass?
Its predator control
Thanks cobber for doing the right thing
No prob!
Coyotes are weak if shot well that 22250 should have plastered it. I consistently pin them at 300 with a 223
жалко очень жалко этих красивых животных охотников нехрена не жалко
Nice shooting!
Thx!!!!
😢
you had plenty of time to shoot him do you want him to walk straight up to u
Hahahahahaa! New-Rifle-Curse! Hahahahahaa, ahh, you poor bastard, I fell you, brother.
Good shooting Mister 👌
Thanks brian!!
Great shot ,,any hit at that distance is an accomplishment, especially in that weather
I agree
Nice shot, yote wasn’t going far leaking like that!
Haha right!!
Nice gut shot.
Well thanks cheeky rick!!
kinda far wasn't it
Helluva shot!
Thanks!!
Granted it was a hard shot, still, gut shot is a tough way to die.
He was dead in less than a few minutes
Good, I hunt too and really hate to anything suffering, even varmints.
Unfortunately not a good shoot, beautiful scenery though. Southampton UK
You are correct..poorly placed, but got the job done
No, it's not Southampton UK. Or are you giving your location, if so that's odd.
Looks cold as shit! Nice poke!
It was chilly, but tolerable with warm cloths!
Apparently 340 yds is too far for you
Apparently not! It's dead moron!
The landscape looks suspiciously like the Fenimore aera of Wisconsin.
The entire southern half of Wisco looks just like that. Pigeon Falls is 125 miles north of Fennimore, so you're a bit off in more ways than one.
Nice shot just want to say it makes me laugh seeing such a nice rifle wrapped in ghetto duct tape. Almost as bad as spray paint on a nice rifle.
Just for some camouflage before the snow came and I didn't take it off...and its definitely not duct tape..it comes off easy as hell..just a cloth wrapping
Pretty is as pretty does!@@wisconsincoyotecallin8620
So whats the point in Shooting the.animal and just throwing his body there Wise dude.???
Looks like you need to bring your shooting skills up to match what the rifle can do. You wounded that critter pretty bad, should have been a clean kill but it wasn't.
It’s pretty easy to say from your arm chair hey
crap. practice patience more
???
That was just plain cruel.
It would have been better if you had told what company makes the call!
Luckyduck
Are you kill8ng for a reason or just for the fun of it?
What a poorly placed shot. Way too much suffering. Back to the range for you, sir.
Thanks for watching!
