  • Wonderful video that you have put together about my idol and favorite player ever since I picked up the racket in my youth days! I've got the awesome opportunity to see and meet him at the Super Cup 2010 in Germany. An incredible talent, kind dude and inspiration to everyone! He shows that it's not titles, ranks and statistics that define a great player. His influence is among us, even to the people who don't realize it. Goat. Waldi forever!❤🏓

  • 5 min in voice says: "This victory was particularly sweet since it came after a series of challenging matches vs some of the finest players in the World." Truth, he won every single set in that World championship. No one had done it before and for sure now with sets to 11 no one will do it after. A journalist asked him directly after it if Waldner could describe his level of skill. Waldner answered without any sign of smile at all on his face "99% pure talent, 1% hard work." Which of course was 100% humour and a joke but this is his kind of humour being raised in the ironic generation. In later inverviews he has said that he probably trained more than any one and that Mikael Appelgren for example was more talented.
