I still need to see Doug Marcaida saying "it will kill". That's why we love this series. Without the kill test it's just a show. Disappointed.
@Ebiegberi Adonkie Too bad the historic context they provided is wrong and mixes up and combines the different history of completely different swords. The jian (generic word for any straight sword) is at least 2500 years old, but the tai chi sword design comes around very late in history - around the equivalent of the late middle ages or Renaissance era (within the last 500-600 years). The later sword designs such as the tai chi sword designs had a heavier blade profile that could cut better than other thinner sword designs that were lighter and better for stabbing.
This show finally started adding historical context, but ended up adding a completely wrong history that mixes up the different history of completely different swords. @@karimazizkembo5312 so true
HISTORY where did "it will kill" guy go ;-; Nvm I think he broke his arm .,.
Woah they actually read some of the comments asking for the history of the weapon.
Yeah but we lost dougs kill test in its place.
Didn't have much of a choice, they've covered several famous swords, axes, and Spears. They had to look around for what people really wanted Personally, I wish they'd look deeper. Like certain knives, axes, and even custom weapons. I would kill to see the Kujang knife, Dane axe, Leonidas sword from 300, Chinese sword from Dragon Blade (Jackie Chan) and my personal favorite; the Mesopotamian khopesh. Dig deeper guys. You already do awesome stuff

@@massey81 was going to say the same thing. Not worth the trade in my opinion
Nah... The test was cut short, with no kill test. So to make this 10 minute video, they have to fill in extra time by showing the explanations at the beginning. When you see the extra content at the beginning, then you KNOW it will be a shortened test with one element missing, or a blade getting disqualified.
Judges: The sword is *light* Neil: I'm gonna make my blade heavy
Also judges: Winged guard Neil: nah
Yea he pretty much ignored the point of the sword. If they wanted a broad sword they would said so.
Look at his Cinquedea.
Seems more so Neil has a strong dislike for the Chinese or their culture.
3:47 sounds like they just created that sentence with different words haha
MePorro I was wondering the same :D
Lol. Can definitely tell was pieced together
MePorro 3:56
lol yeh I noticed that too
They did...
Neil: I don’t like skinny, little light swords, I’m gonna make my sword twice as heavy as Theo’s. Fans: So you have chosen...defeat.
Came here for my daily dose of KEEELL.. *was not satisfied*
Same here bro.. im angry..
Keel guy....those who dont even know his name dont deserve to hear the sacred words anyway
Plenty of episodes have other guys doing the kill test for Doug. Usually it's one of his students. We got robbed!
@@Tb4870 Probably got hurt too late to get someone else
@@vld7759 ... Every fif die hard fans know about Douglas Macaida... the founder of Macaida Kali martial art school and ex army man...
Omg they actually added the history of the sword. I remembered someone commented about wanting the history of the swords to come back. Kuddos for getting what the people want!

I think they do give history on the weapon when you watch the full episode, they just cut it out for KZhead.
Maybe because it's not a full ep you mongoloid
If you actually watch the episodes, they always do abit about the history.
Taiji sword: a light sword and a gentleman's weapon. Neil: makes a heavy sword with a pirate cutlass guard. Loses because of course.
Remind sme of a saying "Drawing legs to a snake", but in in this case, he drew monkey

LOOOOL
today. Is importANT. THE BLAAADE hAs to bE heated EvenlyyYyy
“Same thing I did last time, go to the junkyard, get some stuff because I didn’t think I’d make it this far.” That’s so relatable....
I gotta say, I love the way Theo forged the guard and pommel directly onto the blade. There was nothing the judges could throw at it that would serve to make it come undone or loosen up.
Imagine being told to make a Tai Chi sword and your first thought is "I'm gonna make it *heavy*" I knew he was going to lose when he said that.
Fun fact: heavy weapons never win unless the other weapon breaks.
Other fun fact: heavier weapons outside of a duel tend to win the strength and damage tests
@@scottbauer71 unless it's heavy in the wrong ways. I.e. thicker blade doesn't cut well as seen here. It's a not an axe, so it won't be tested as such
I guess if they can deal and withstand the same damage, but one is lighter, its the better sword? - someone who is guesstimating
@@CDMaccles usually yes, as it means you can do more with less material, aka you're the more skilled blacksmith
@@CrazyDutchguys Also, a lighter weapon means you can use it for longer without tiring yourself out, which also makes it a better weapon.
"Imma make a heavy tai chi sword" A bold strategy, Cotton. Lets see if it pays off.
2:00 "i guarantee mine is gonna be heavier .. i don't like skinny little things" at that moment i knew he gonna lose
Wth? Where is the it-will-keel-guy?! Ten minutes of my life I'm not getting back..........
Doug is at the end if the episode. His arm is in a sling.
@@DementedDoom is this your first time watching episodes from season 4 and 5.... Doug does not test, some doppelganger guy does it for him but in the end Doug gets to say the KEEL word.....
He is one of the contestants
Doug Marcaida (Markaida?). Yeah, he's awesome.
@@dipanjanbiswas9740 I think it's actually his brother 🍻
No keeel test! Losers sword had the wrong type of guard.
And pommel
At least he can now eat that noodle in peace
Dudes a better blacksmith than half of the people who have been on this show.
7:50 The moment it didn't cut, we knew he lost. And in this competition if your blade is heavy, you lose
They pieced together that guy’s description of how his Day four should go lol
love that we are getting more history and details about the weapon
Harry Potter vs Ancient Chinese Warrior (Not Chinese actually) You wouldn't expect who won.
Do you just wait for new FIF video all day because i always see you at the top of comment section moments after being uploaded
So miss chi !! How is your corona disease curing??
Harry, he turned the sword into a Chinese warrior, holding a sword of a Chinese man, holding a sword made from bat meat.
hey if I remember correctly, this comment is a lot less bloodthirsty than the last one
Sturdy H. Potter/D. Radcliffe was my first reaction aswell.
(Finish carving up a turkey with a knife and turn to the wife) Me: "It will keeeeeeellll." Wife: "The turkey was already dead." (Song playing: "All around me are familiar faces, worn out places...")
I love that you included the description of the weapon and its history. very informative .
Why tf does Doug always break his freaking arm
Because he's human? If he injured himself because of the show again, it was probably due to out of spec, rushed swords that could mess up technique and edge alignement. HEMA/FMA guys know you can practice the same cut a hundred times on a good sword but if you mess up edge alignment even just a bit you could get seriously injured. What more for a rushed sword competitors are making for the first time?
@@bitterblossom19 I mean I feel like that's how Jay always hurts himself is that he's doing a strength test (usually ice block) and just completely slaps the thing instead of hitting it with the blade.
Because Doug does kali when he's not on forged in fire
@@pokeroots2 EXACTLY! I hate seeing Jay whine and complain about "bad" builds that hurt him, CUZ HE'S SWINGING THE BLADE WRONG!!!
I'll be honest the moment I saw Neil's sword I thought "That's a bowl guard and a block pommel ... not a Tai Chi sword.".
At least they added the historical background behind the weapons Love this
I absolutely love watching these shows. I just wish these KZhead versions were a bit longer. 🙂
Knew it was over as soon as he said "it won't be as light as Theo's blade. But that's fine." Dude, you've done this before, you know how this works.
Neil is a boss. I think him and illiya from Baltimore knife n sword should go at it. They have both improved so much
“This is like chines so they can eat soup out of it at the same time” *laughs and then proceeds to cough*
I'm glad they showed the Historical aspect of the weapon again, was missing that from these clips
these are my two favorite competitors on the show
This one of my favorite episodes that I watched from the initial rounds leading to this final round
Thank you! So much cooler with the information about the sword at the beginning❤️
Noo what happened to "it weel keel" guy's hand :( I wanted to know if it will keel or not
came here for my boy Neil. I love his Damascus work and knife designs
I really liked how they included some weapon history when revealing the weapon to be made.
3:48 wtf editors you could have done a better effort on overlaying the audio jesus christ
Good for you guys for showing the history more.
Thnx for including history of the sword 🙏👍
I like the added detail in the earlier seasons
“I want this blade to be heavy” *alright he’s done*
Omg thanks for some history, really liked it😍
Taking a loss doesn’t feel good for anyone, respect to you for being graceful
Who would have thought Bill Gates is a swordsmith as well! Truly one of a kind!
Wow good thing you also add some history about those sword on your KZhead videos. I just really saw it on TV series not with this one, good job adding it.
Much better format with an explanation of the sword’s significance. Thank you. But yes, agree with others that the kill test has to be in there somehow.
Thank you for the historical background.
i like all changes, everything much better, thanks
I love how doug's just sitting there in with his broken arm 1:13
It was good to hear the background history of the weapon🤤
You can guess who is the winner from the disciplined way they make the sword.
The finally clips are better when you include the history of the weapon
yes, finally the weapon history
I love the longer video! I don't mind the absence of the kill test.
One. Small. Problem...: WHERE'S THE KILL TEST?!
@@taoufiqbenallah9029 there are other episodes where he's hurt so they have other guys come do the kill test. Usually one of Doug's students. We got robbed.
@@taoufiqbenallah9029 It's a longsword at the end of the day, designed to be used on ancient battlefields. It can cut through a person just fine.
I want listen "will kill"
Here's an idea. They also put in the history of the weapon... And they left out graphic violence to (dead) animals. I think they were trying to appeal to China. They certainly have funding from China, and the CCP doesn't want to see a symbol associated with China being used for barbarism. I've heard of similar cases, where China blackmails studios into depicting them in certain ways.
Finally they have back stories to these swords love these vids
Yeah but it costed us the keeeeel test
I wish they gave them more time so they can make a perfect blade. Would be cool to see how it would play out
Thanks for adding wepon history.. 😊😊
Oh my they actually put the storytime back
The more complete videos are so good
Finally they brought back the history of the blades
Neil's sword reminds me of those open world games where you just build stuff from the scrap you find during the apocalyspe 🤣
0:00 "Knel, Dio..."
I love how we now have a back story of it
I just started watching ,I'm so excited and wonder if the swords will KEEEEL? I hope they do.
Neil’s and Theo’s attitudes were always great to see on this show. Stand up guys
Awesome work you guy's! I hope you pass on your talents to this younger generation.
I've never seen a show where there is so much comradery, respect, and sportsmanship, it's truly wonderful to see. The weapons are the bonus.
It is simply splendid episode.
Loved the history of the weapon
That dished guard looked awesome. Theo is Avery unique competitor.haha
Where is the keeel test? I feel like I missed a part of me.
His name is doug
erkin yaşar çerik we all got tricked
I hope Doug will recover soon. Without "I will keel" its not that satisfying.
When you see the extra content at the beginning, then you KNOW it will be a shortened test with one element missing, or a blade getting disqualified.
Like the new format.
Anyone else got that amazing ad for a soap? I loved it
These kind of swords are usually aesthetic > shear power
They changed it from 4 days to 5 days. Sweet more time to prepare.
mh this might be an older episode tho..
Cause Neil from Hawaii. Very long time to fly
I love Theo’s Jian. It’s simple yet beautiful and elegant.
I want the integrated handled sword so badly id sell my so for it. I love the color of the handle. The design is beautifully executed. Im... just sad ill never have something like that.
4:36 wise man
you guys always cut up the voices to make them say stuff they didn't say can you like stop that
Cause that Hawaiian was cursing so much, they ran out of bleeps.
@JedStrogan I was going to say the exact same thing. 🇨🇦
Idk back in the day how they did it and now with all the equipment out there im amazed they even have difficulty
THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE.
WoW! Doug Marcaida is hurt! Hope you recuperate soon Mr. Keelll
hmm so glad they switched to doing the keeel test first in later seasons, always miss it when it isnt there (even though i already saw everything more than once )
Now neils blades can slice arrows in half hes improved alot
Yaaayyy more foraged in fire it will keel
Neil dug his own grave when he said "Hurr durr me like heavy ooagghh" dude. You're recreating historical blades. Not making an original.
I watch Forged in fire every Day!!! That is the Best show for me
Same here bud
This is the worst show for me cuz theres no keel test..
wtf!? NO KILL TEST!?!? ffs that’s the whole reason why i watch this show... bring it back!
The electric guitar kickin in lol
My favorite show!!
1:48 Bruh, they sholud have employed him to flex tape commercial. It looks like A LOTTA DAMAGE. This guy is freaking hulk
Even though Neil lost id still buy a blade from him before id buy one from the other dude, Neil puts heart and soul into his work. Ive been following and keeping up with him way before he was on forged in fire and id say he is also a much bigger influence in the knife community.
He’s Japanese that’s why, they always put heart into their work.
You're a wizard Harry!
Dude Neil was seriously goin at it at 1:48
2:09 yeah, but the judges like lighter swords. Know your audience, my dude!
Oh wait we've already seen dis one
