🤣😂🤣 👍🏻 you made my day!!!
mate, your imagery thus mind, never, arose in my mind.. the testing is of workmanship, specifically in weapons.. think of it that way..
I don't know man, humankind have been instilled with a battle instincts from thousands of years fighting with swords and hand combat weaponry. Now that we have reached a level of civilization where many country are conflict free, I think the fact that we can watch men cut ballistic dummies instead of people is a pretty good thing.

To be honest, I'm a big fan of how polite everyone is on this show, even to the point of just chilling and respecting each other's work while a guy swings their weapons at mimic humans to see if they die
Exactly 💯
To see if "It will keel"*
The Sportsmanship and Respect in this show is Astounding.
@@pootisbirb6683 I think it's that everyone who gets into black smiting knows just how hard it is. It's not something you can just pick up and do day 1. And really, if you don't do a good job on a blade or weapon there is no else to blame. But agree with everyone above that the sportsmanship and politeness between the contestants is great to see. I also like when they share stories about their scars the get from the forge, it's crazy what these guys deal with lol.
Pure class.
I've never seen more graceful losers and humble winners on a reality show before. It's even more impressive than the weapons they make.

Bladesmithing is a humbling profession, if you can’t except defeat, you’ll go nowhere
I love seen the blacksmith standing awkwardly and don't know what to do with their arms
Lol especially when the judges say "Are you ready?" LOL they are just going to stand there.
They really are just really cool nerds lol
You evil evil man 🤣🤣🤣 those poor guys just want to show their amazing work, and not to mention how hard of a job blacksmithing actually is...
They should give them a blacksmiths hammer to hold
You know what thats a good point but let's be honest what human being knows what to do with their arms when standing in front of someone who has "authority" over you
imagine being a Robber and enter Doug's house.. catch you in the act.. he grabs a Kickass long medieval Blade.. look you in the eyes and says : "It will kill"
Keel
“This blade is razor sharp, it penetrates the target with ease and slices through the body with ease. This blade will keel.” Meanwhile the robbers just laying there
but then he says "because im recovering from injury, my wife will have the pleasure cutting you deep and lacerate your organs, are you ready ?"
Not that I'd ever rob anyone but if that happened id leave MY belongings lol

The pommel falling off is a plus. Now you can end your opponent rightly.

This show really puts on full display how much of a brotherly bond the blacksmithing community has. It's a dying craft that isn't very popular anymore. That's The main reason these gentleman are so humble and not sore losers, they understand the effort and dedication smithing requires at all levels of expertise in what is a widely unrecognised artform.
I wouldn't say it's a dying craft. It is no longer needed as mass production has taken over pretty much everything that a blacksmith would make. So whoever does blacksmithing does it out of passion, and whoever buys stuff made by a blacksmith, buys it because they like the look and feel of handmade stuff. I'd say we have a pretty thriving community.
It's popular enough to be on TV... :-)
I think this show and some others have more or less caused a renaissance for blacksmithing
39:04 that sword is.. Insane like jesus christ thats some damage
that would destroy somebody's body, even the judges where impressed
I also liked who the judges couldn't stop giggling after that test. True boys at heart
I read this comment just as that clip came on so wow lol. It nearly cut he dummy in half, I've seen necks cut clean through but never the chest/torso itself. Wild sharp even the judges were in awe.
It's such a beautiful weapon too, so symmetrical and the black handle and wide shiny blade... just WOW
well, it killed for Jezus christ too XD
39:04 that is one of the best cutting test i've seen. Just wow.
The Sword of Judgement (heroes 3 reference)
that was like the first time I saw a sword almost cut all the way though the rip cage in one swing. This could totally be possible
Almost cut the head off/part of the chest in a V shape!!
i would like to buy this sword, for real
It was awesome, genuinely the coolest cutting test I've ever seen as well.
I love how Doug laughed after he said “just the tip penetrated” 1:49
When Doug has someone else testing the weapon he's always seen in the background with a face of pure enthusiasm
24:00 the guy who's sword failed should have won, the other guys was too heavy, not sharp and uncomfortable
I def feel like the judges knew that too
the tang got into the pommel not throu it, thats the problem of many modern swords.
Id hardly call losing the pommel a "catastrophic failure" that other dude in no way deserved it, he made a bloody block of steel not a sword
@@GwenShep at least he was aware of it 😂😂
i feel the same way, there was an abyss between the two swords
That bearded guy in the begining is so chill and relaxed, all he wants to see is his weapon kill.
Also that the judge acknowledged his work was cool too.
You mean keel
Die, I must
@@apollo8586 It will KEEEEEL
So this is what Hagrid has been up to since he was fired from Hogwarts.
39:05 has to be the best craftsmanship ever on the show amazing
That was overkill
39:12 - 39:18 I can only imagine how much fun these brothers have had together! Doug's reaction, paired with the other judges' reactions......PRICELESS!
“It’s wicked scary” that is the single greatest line of all time 😂😂😂 39:05
I would love to pierce that into someone....Any Volunteer please?....Now Please don't call me a psychopath....
Between wicked sharp and scary sharp he chose to say wicked scary.
Love the way Dough says "it will kill" with a giant grin on his face 😂
He probably says that that everytime he cuts his steak lol
It's not really made explicit in the show, but it's the KEAL test; Doug's acronym for "Keep Everyone ALive"
1:50 Doug just couldn't help but to laugh. :D
Oh that’s hilarious 😂
39:16 look at Doug in the background 😂
Then patting his brother with his bloody hand and his brother pretends to fling it back at him with his fingers. 😂
God**
Daves Templar Sword in the kill test at 38:57 is exactly like Doug said truly scary blade.
24:00 It's not a "catastrophic failure" it's actually quite an advantage. Many knights and swordsmen would remove their pommels and throw them at the enemy as a distraction. This method was so effective that it was actually forbidden to do this which is why you don't hear many historical accounts of this happening.
Exactly. If you needed to finish them off rightly, you would need to do it. But only then
Its a less catastrophic fkailure. You could get injured and bother your handling. But of course, in real battle even a stone can be a weapon.
Which game is the character in your profile from?

“Keal”
That first guy may have made the most complete weapon I have seen yet. Strong, sharp, and well designed.
you discribed an halberd, the most complete weapon
The guy at 19:40. What he says. If everyone had that kind of mentality the world would truly be a beautiful place to be.
What i love about this show is the fact that when you normally look at a blade u dont think how much thought goes into it.
speak for yourself
Unless you're a knife maker. Then you think "how long would that take me and will it fit in my quench tank?" with every blade you see.
27:02 my mans has nether wood on his handle
When dougs brother walked out, I was like “oh god there’s another one”🤣🤣🤣🤣. Lol in all seriousness Doug is my favorite judge on this show
14:05 You can see the disappointment in his eyes
he did miss with his swing though
Me: **sees Archie Marcaida walk in** "This is getting out of hand, now there are TWO of them!"
What i love about this show is how humble and good sports these competitors are.Phil for example ; instead of being cocky he thanks everyone for his experience and thanks his fellow competitors. The defenition of good sportsmanship right there!
39:04 Whoa I didn't expect that 😅
1:54 when he chuckles ever so slightly because he realized he just said “just the tip penetrated”

Keeel :D what a dude, i want to see him in a comedy snuff film and look straight at the camera after a nice bloody murder and say "this thing is sharp, it will keeel" 😏
Buy youtube premium or get an ad blocker. Problem solved.
I feel kind of sorry for Hagred, that was a robust Halberd, but Ned Flander's Halberd just seemed more effective
Craig's hammer was a beauty, one of the best weapons I've seen on this show.
This dude is brave af to be swinging all these weapons as hard as he does. I'd be worried about a piece of metal hitting me in the head or neck
24:35 he got lucky
Right
Very... I've never forged/finished a sword or anything before but im confident that I could present something as good or better than that dude did
he said it himself, he won by capitalising on oponents failures, passed first round witha butter knife and now this, he won, but he didn't want to win like this
Would really love to see the show expand and challenge smiths in how they have to forge their weapons, traditional or modern forges provided by Forged in Fire and not in their home.
49:52 when you're an ottoman in the siege of vienna and see the winged hussars arrive
They should award 2nd place with $2000 (given that it doesn't suffer a failure) honestly
Btw a custom blade that was professionally tested is worth approximately 3-4 grand Note: the loser gets his blade back after the show
38:20 I love how even though Doug is not doing the "Keel" test, you can still see him just screaming "KEEL!" inside his head!
at 1:50 he realised what he just said ^^
The tip was enough to get her crying 😂🤣
Good catch ! 🤣🤣
This guy could swing a rusty spoon and anounce, "It will keel"
9:35. I’ve never heard someone be so happy of their weapon being able to kill🤣😂
24:33 my guy's really lucky his opponents pommel fall off
33:15 "no broken bones" *zooms in to show clearly fractured ribs*
@7:47 when you think of a funny joke in class and you're trying not to laugh
25:46 the only issue I can see is that they tested the daggers on butted mail as opposed to riveted mail
22:30 I love how the stupido was laughing and then changed his face
Ben is a good addition to the show. He fit right in.
I think Jake (the blade destroyer) is a lot stronger than he looks, when they say "this test is designed to be brutal" it's only brutal because Jake is involved. lol, respect though, great show.
And he smiles at top of it... he likes to destroy them lmao
39:08 i love how after those 2 cuts, all the judges shook a little
39:09 ..Their faces says it all..that is one of the sharpest swords I've ever seen!
Oh god this showed on my recommended and now i am binge watching it late at night
My favorite has to be the Smith's that worked on the Glaive, they were friendly and I loved how they complimented each others blades
I waited 40 min just to see David’s crusader sword. That sword is a monster
Probably the best weapon ever made on this show.
They should make the Zulfiqar
I need more of this show… this is literally the most professional show on the Internet!!
I have become addicted to this show, man there's some fine craftsmanship going on, and if there was ever a zombie apocalypse I hope they saved all the creations :P Fun show eh!
I want to know what weapon each judge would reach for when the zombie horde came through the door. 🧟✌️🖖
14:28 Now that is a rare sight I enjoyed a lot! The weapon wielder from the judge's side, admiting his cut was not totally on point, and admiting it was him (still could be excused because of the handle made it hard to control), and not the blade being straight up not sharp enough, too heavy, or too flexible... Thumb up for this guy! He is my hero. (Swing at 14:01)
Why do i feel satisfied on hearing "It wil Kielll"
probably, because Killing is something that's been a habit of many humans that it has likely become an ingrained instinct in certain gene pools. My genetics come mostly from Norway, Denmark, and Scotland, so I am not surprised that I too, find it quite satisfying to hear him say that :)
Of all the random thing that I can expect from a comment.....this just pops right in my back
😳
@@erikblarg5498 I am From India and don't satisfaction because my gene is deferent and india also known as it's calm people and many monk and great person like mahatma gandhi are born here 👍
I'd prefer to see the Smith actually forging, grinding and detailing their weapons. I do love to see the tests, but I also like to see the effort that went into the items they're testing.
Thats in the full episodes
@@patrickazzarella6729 I'm aware of that, I was meaning if they're gonna make compilations of all the testing, maybe make a few compilations of smiths working their forges. Or of comebacks, the smith makes a mistake and manages to overcome it. 🤔

it had a blade on it
First challenge: "it will keel" Second challenge: "it will penetrate steel" Third challenge: "it have nice FEEL"
49:13 probably one of the worst facial expressions I’ve ever seen on a human

I just love the fact that , how all these men are such good sports .. I just love it . They took their defeat with sucha grace .
Sometimes I feel like these blacksmiths are so nice, that they are rooting for each other in the final round
They Bladesmiths when they making Blades Such cool attitudes to winning and loosing deffo
Judges : this blade is amazing Me : it's a hammer The reader : he has a point
That's kind of a double edged statement man...... DOH lol.
the damage that daves templar sword done to that ballistic dummy is insane
The last guy with the crusader sword, Dave, the look on his face was priceless, lol.
13:20 I love the design of this weapon
Nick and Alex was one of the best competitors that went against each other
I like when he says " Your weapon, will kill😁"
When Doug says "It will kill." I just smile
*Doug eatting his lunch* "Doug. Your banana...will PEEEL."
to the loser "Surrender your weapon" to the winner "Present your weapon" basically, though they do the same thing
same action, different energies
Different conotations, present your sword is usually used when presenting it for judging, appraisal for sale, or to make sure its even worth it. Surrender your sword says that its not worth even apraisal for sale, that you will have to redo your work and try and do better.
I mean, it’s probably illegal to have some of these weapons in your house, even for decoration because of it’s fatality potential.
You know you have done a great job when Doug says "it can kill" 😎
Did anyone else notice Doug fighting a giggle when he said just the tip?
My boy Drew was robbed wtf
It was very fortunate for that other guy, I actually said wtf when that “sword” appeared on screen.
Lucky is better than good
on god
I swear that ice block test has broken more blades than any other test.
Wow!... Another Close Competition. Thanks for Sharing
This is funny, watching blacksmith competition are feels far more chill and enjoyable rather than cooking contest 😂😂😂
I knew which halberd will be the winner the moment I saw both. Phil's weapon didn't just perform better, it is simply beautiful unlike the rival's. (Jonathan, if you're reading this, I didn't mean to insult you. You definitely can, and probably will, craft weapons that are both functional and beautiful.)
23:50 I dont see the pommel falling off as a catastrophic failure seeing as this is a medieval test and in medieval times knights/swordsman would take the pommel off the sword and strike people with them like chucking a stone but with a huge peice of metal, as a way to combat armour via concussion. compared to that other 'arming sword' with the tiny handle and no edge i know which was the Victor...
I'm gonna assume the blade that lacked a keel test was the one that injured doug. The guy that failed lost cuz his blade was bad at cutting and Doug mentioned that he was injured by "a heavy blade that didn't cut well"
