I want the same things from Colin that I want from Aziraphale in Season 3 of Good Omens. I need to see them EARN the love that they have scorned. They need to prove themselves and show that they value Crowley and Penelope, and that they have been complete fools for not appreciating them. I need actions, public declarations, and private acknowledgements of just how much they have screwed up. I need them to visibly breakdown and profess their affections, preferably while making Crowley and Pen feel adored. I may have some personal unresolved trauma in this regard. 😒

I highly doubt the makers would show her losing a few pounds. I have high hopes for the treatment of Penelope's character, given that one of the leading ladies in the previous season was dark-skinned. Personally, I think curves are meant to be celebrated, just like any other physical attribute.
I was never fond of the way Collin ignored not only Penelope's admiration but her friendship too, I'm glad she's getting more suitors, he needs to gain her respect because his immaturity and impulsive actions show the guy he is
Colin doesn't deserve Penelope. She deserves someone who knows her worth from day 1. Someone who doesn't act offended or defensive when people mention say their courting. Someone who respects her enough to follow social protocol when interacting with a lady.
This Lord Debling character breakdown is making me like him. Damn it! If he’s anywhere near the stand up guy you described him to be I think my heart would break for him knowing that Polin is endgame.
I haven't read the books, but my first guess would be that they reveal something really off-putting about him (Mistress? Wife beater? Never wanting to live in the "ton" and hence ends her career as lady Whistledown?) by the end, and that Colin then sweeps in and save the day. But, from this little overview, I would say that this lord Debling seems like a much better match. Colin is dense, and Penelope is not!
@@elisaa9981 Debling wasn’t in the books. And yes he seems like a good match for Pen based on the crumbs we’re getting but… I mean, Pen deserves to be with the man she truly loves. Colin just needs to earn her. You should read the book. The declaration of love and how funny it was when Colin was finally seeing how great Pen is was a good read.

Pen deserves to marry someone who sees her and understands her. Collin is not emotionally mature enough to carry Pen’s heart. As someone who didn’t fit in, and whose heart has been shattered over and over again by the false affections and double standards of others, it kills me that Pen and Collin will end up together. She deserves better, and Collin will have a lot of groveling to do in order to fix the damage that’s been done.

I‘m interested to see the changes from the book series, but I hope they keep the core vibes of the characters and story the same. Sometimes adding too much takes away more than it adds
I just hope there's a higher adaptation ratio of Romancing Mr Bridgerton to She's All That. Although I really REALLY need a classical version of Kiss Me in the soundtrack.
I agree. This character isn't in the book. Too much has been changed for my taste. I almost always feel that way with many other books to screen adaptation though.
I agree, but I think that so far they’ve made the adaptation so good. First season with Daphnes debut instead of being already on her 2nd 3rd season, so we can understand how this world works. Then in season 2 with an actual interest from Anthony towards Edwina, and that confrontation with Kate, instead of Edwina just being in the background and not interested at all on Anthony as is written in the books…I think this new suiter for Penelope in season 3 is to give us a real motive on why Colin is now and not before interested on Pen. Cause in the books 12 years have passed since she debuted, and the author gives no reason at all why in that moment is that Colin notices Pen. I think they’re filling the plot wholes from the books, and obviously making background characters more ingesting for the sake of the show, not everything in a show can go around the main characters nonstop😂, we would be bored! What I missed in the show is that all couples had more a developed friendship not only tension and passion…in the books Daphne and Simon were so joyful they were best friends, in the show they more like flirt all the time with that “forbidden fruit” trope..in book 2 Kate and Anthony share several traumas that made them confidents, something beyond friendship, and in the show again with that flirt…that is the only thing I would change
I think Netflix ruins the books. The charm of Violet is completely missing. And revealing whistles down just ugh. Not sure I can watch more. Would rather reread books
I'm not a fan of love triangles, especially when one party is just used as a plot tool to come between the other two, but pen deserves some affection and they could do it well if carefully written (i.e. give the third party their own agency and a happy ending).
I feel like the show does give the third parties a happy ending or at least a suggestion to it - like with Edwina and the Prince 😅❤

As someone who's read all the Bridgerton novels I have to Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, Colin and Penelope story, was my favorite. I can't wait to see this season of Bridgerton, I have a feeling it will be my favorite.

I feel like the series had failed to show the friendship between pen and collin. Because the friendship between them is much more. Collin never despises pen its just that he sees penelope as penelope.. as his sister’s friend, as his friend and nothing more. The book was sweet with collin slowly realising how adorable and beautiful she is. Whereas the series seemed “crazy” yes, crazy indeed making it more interesting. I am excited to see the new addition plots. The trailer is already giving me thrills. Can’t wait for the coming month!

In the novel deep inside he knew what pen was.. a wallflower, he could not admit but also couldn’t deny that penelope was not attractive as a woman like everyone in the society had believed. But collin was one of the people who knew that pen was much more than people thought. “Disintrest”? No! Collin knew how interesting pen was and how witty, intelligent she was. She was fun but he could not see her beyond their friendship maybe because deep inside he also agreed with the society that the pen he knew as a friend was fun but pen as a woman?? 👀 And “indecisiveness”? He cared for her that’s why he would dance with her at most of the ball, as he couldn’t see her standing at the perimeter of the room every time watching people dance her face saying how much she would love to dance too. Was it pity? Maybe.. but he cared enough to notice her desire! U should really see the interaction between them, it’s so much better than the whole series provided. But let’s see.. what the series shows.. they already changed some things.. but im not sad rather it’s thrilling!
Oh my goodness, Colin looks so much older this season. Finally, not the looks of a young boy or young man; but a man’s man … mature, with an eye on his future and his place in the world.
Kudos to the hair and makeup team. Queen Charlotte 's hair is one of a kind, it made me smile at how flamboyant and creatively outside the box it is. Also a shout out to costume and wardrobe, the ensambles are well put together and the colours are beautiful. The curiosity and anticipation increases when snippets are released for season 3. It would be great to see a genuine bond and understanding between Penelope and Lord Debling because they are perceived as outsiders, although for different reasons. That Lord debling discovers Penelope, as she is described in the books, as intelligent, business savvy, kind and generous, but that these qualities are shown in someway in public and preferably in front of Colin especially if it has anything to do with Lord Debling . Because we know Penelope is unconventional, savvy and intelligent, it would be great to see Penelope coming to the rescue of Lord Debling in some way. Even prehaps a small gesture, such as stepping in front of Lord Debling in a scene, that shows solidarity, defense or in support of, in front of the ton . At the same time showing Penelope coming out of her shell. This also serves to send tongues wagging.😊

what i love the most about this series is that the main leads shift every season so i it will never be the same love story all over again. and i love the different rases and body types and sexuality that is being shown makes it easier to relate with.
Pen is the prettiest and most attractive actress at Bridgerton. Not only on the outside, but also on the inside, she simply has charm...you don't often find that! i'm really looking forward to the new season.

I know this usnt going to be the ending but I wish Penelope ends up with Debling. I feel like her ending up with Colin just sends out the message that if you wait long enough and get hurt again and again and be treated like a doormat then eventually your crush will like you too. Whereas Lord Debling is the good guy who SEES YOU and treats you well even without all the history. But i guess maybe they'll maybe make him just a tiny bit of an a*sehole so Colin would be a better partner in comparison. Like maybe Lord Debling loves penelope but doesn't accept lady whistledown persona or maybe he doesnt listen to some of the things she says. Penelope deserves lots of suitors tbh. I mean Cleopatra didnt attract Mark Anthony or Caesar becaus eof just beauty. She attracted them because of her wit and intelligence. THE GROVEL BETTER BE GOOD
I stopped subscribing to Netflix years ago because I really didn’t like the nature of their content. But, I recently got it again for one month so I could watch “The 3 Body Problem”, which was well worth it. I’m familiar with the “Bridgerton” characters only because they are all in the zeitgeist. I’ve never watched the show. I tried to watch the first episode when the show first came out and I could barely make it through. I really didn’t like it and the only character I liked was Eloise. A couple of weeks ago, though, I did watch the “Charlotte” prequel. As an African American woman, I wasn’t about to miss the chance of seeing a story about a Black queen on the throne of England. I liked that series a great deal and I think the actresses who played young Charlotte and young Lady Danvers were superb. I won’t see season three of the regular show because it’s always the same thing. This Lord Whatever-his-name-is - I’ve already forgotten it - isn’t going to win in the end and we all know it. He’s just in the story to make Colin wake up. In the end, Pen will gets who she wants but who she wants is bad for her. She wants a child with extremely low emotional intelligence who is *always* slow on the uptake rather than a full-grown man who knows his own mind and sees her for the woman she is. It’s too much. All these suitors are just red herrings.
We don’t need some other gentleman! I want alllll of Colin and pens screen time!

I would rather her take Lord Debling for a change in formula. I mean it’s been the same formula pattern ever since starting with Simon and Daphne up until Kate and Anthony: he didn’t know he loved her until it’s too late, he took her for granted but then she took him back because he finally realized. Realistically, it can be rather unhealthy and self-devaluing to get all hung up on someone not interested from the start while pretending not to, and then taking that person back. IOW, you don’t value yourself enough unless the person who rejected you finally values you. It’s like you’ve never really grown and moved on. I wish Penelope’s arc would be that of moving on from Collin- for good.
Crazy that love triangle did not happen in the book. This woman adds so much cliche drama to the Show. But im still hurt over her and her writers killed the best book. In season 2
