  • Not every married woman loses their sense of independence and view of the world. She is still a strong-willed and “ she does not stop talking”. In this experience,She gained more knowledge about motherhood and values in life. In the book Eloise still remained true to herself altho they were ups and downs of the odd relationship they had at first but ultimately she found herself happy and contented at the end.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Even though wrought with sadness and painful moments there was comedy that I found quite humorous. Eloise never lost her independence, vitality nor confidence throughout plus she’s just as talkative as ever. Some moments will have you tearing up and the next it will make your heart flutter with warmth. If you don’t want a spoiler then don’t read beyond this point. . . . . . . The most funniest I found was when all four brothers showed up! hope they include this in the live series.

  • I can't lie, I haven't read this book but it sounds terrible to take the most strong-willed, independent, out-spoken, confident feminie character, have her fall in love with a man who has lost his wife so that he can find a mother for them and turning her into this woman who seeks marriage bc she is now the last few of spinsters in her circle and ultimately become domesicated, docile, maternal person is wildly out of character and feels like the most disappointing storyline for a Bridgerton I can think of. Have no clue how Netflix will do this one, but I hope they change A LOT of stuff.

    @eliabrown8435@eliabrown84352 ай бұрын
    • Agreed! The author tamed or brought this character into submission, and had her conform. Imagine the things this character could have done? How fun it could have been to write her adventures. Marriage and children aren't a path for many women, but it doesn't mean she cannot fall in love. I hope Netflix takes many liberties with Eloise. I admire the character's boldness and resonate with her desire for a more expansive life.

    • I've read the book and she remained her strong-willed, outspoken and confident self. She was neither domesticated nor docile although yes, the more she interacted with the twins, she developped a strong maternal affection with them. To Sir Phillip with love did Eloise's character justice in a lot of ways. Brings a lot of contrast to her desire of independance but yet wanting to have a love marriage.

    • I have read the book, and it is very much in keeping with her character. She leaves home by herself to meet Sir Philip, only to see if she likes him in person. She remains outspoken and independent and is the best person to help his children. And her relationship with Philip is very passionate. Loved this book!!!

    • Not every woman who gets married and has a family looses themselves. I know quite a few women who are married and can still run a tight ship, kick some ass and still be the most loving sweet and romantic women ever. Also this is keeping with her personilty. Sometimes feminist just don't want to see that a woman can be all with a husband and child(red).

  • I highly recommend reading the book before making conclusions based off the little details you were allowed by the series, where the story line strays a little from the book’s. I read the first five books and I must say I was not looking forward to reading Eloise’s story simply due to the fact that Sir Philip was already married to Marina, I had no idea how that would’ve panned out, and I hoped it was another Sir Philip but alas, it turned out to be the very same one. However, this was one of my very best reads, of all the Bridgerton books. Sir Philip was a man plagued by darkness and Eloise was the light he so very much needed. I love this book with every fiber of my being. I went through so many emotions, and I shall definitely read it again and again. ***Marina though, seemed to have led such a sad life, right up to her death…I wish we could’ve gotten to know her just a little better, to understand her. She obviously needed love and it seemed no one offered her that, seeing that the only person who would’ve fought for her, died on a battlefield. She deserved so much better than the cards she got dealt with.

  • What I find a bit strange about the series is that it is presented to us as The Bridgerton family's closeness to each other. I do think it was a mistake not to replace the duke with another actor as it is too odd without the duke and Daphne joining the family gatherings. Is that is what is going to happen each book you'll get rid of one of the family you no longer need? I don't think that says close family. I think it says there is no good excuse not to be joining the family on occasion. They are portrayed as this incredibly close family yet one by one they dissapear. It's a shame we can't continue to enjoy that part of the series.

    • @ZoneflixNews curious how Marinas story will play out on screen. The actress who plays Marina has spoken out saying she had "Two Psychotic Breaks From That Show" I am curious if they'll continue with the story as originally and unrelatedly written or avoid due to the actresses described experience. However, she 100% would need to be replaced as she does not want to return so maybe that would seperate the 2 situations if they were to continue the characters story as written. On another note I enjoyed this synopsis and really look forward to this story❤

  • I'm sorry in this I don't agree, I can't believe that she ended up with a man out of a cave, just because she felt alone, after all it's feminine power that she had, it's the scene of her first wedding night, philip did nothing but bring to mind marina, marina, marina and marina, he only compared eloise to marina, he only married her to have someone to have sex with and someone to raise his children with, THAT WAS NOT THE END THAT ELOIS DESERVED,, , she wanted someone eloquent, cultured, who loved her, this was a sad marriage that was only CONVENIENT FOR BOTH OF THEM. It is ridiculous that the author turned Elois into just another woman desperate for a marriage.

    • I have not read the books, but from what I have seen, I see Eloise as someone who may just become interested in men and relationships a bit later than most women. When she starts feeling lonely seeing all the couples around her, and this proposal dumps into her lap, she would be exactly the type to investigate it with an open mind. And what was supposed to be a 'practical', not very romantic arrangement, actually turned into love. Even a love who would allow her to be the type of person she was, and not squeeze her into the role of someone she was not.

      @HereIAm247@HereIAm247Ай бұрын
    • @@HereIAm247 The problem is that in the book she was not even sure about getting married, she never came to the conclusion of marrying him on her own, Antony left her no choice after they went looking for her, and they found her with him without a chaperon, he never proposed to her in an organic way, he literally just ordered her, WE HAVE TO GET MARRIED, and she herself feels cornered, in the book she says that it was either marry him or be forever disgraced. She didn't love him, they didn't even love each other apart from a physical situation, he makes it very clear that he marries her because he needs her to take care of her children, and she marries him because he doesn't. has another option.

  • In the book Phillip wanted her for his children. She wanted to avoid the old maid status and ton.. I realized folks want a modernized hyper Indy today's woman. For her day_ she was that, in making her own choices. The tensions came from his hard exterior and the layers he hides under. Their love has time to unfold as it should with 2 such headstrong people. JQ is not my favorite writing voice_ her narratives can be long and dialogue short. But the writing of a series of books with character arcs isn't easy. I'd love to see Amanda quick or Garwood books to film, because as much as we love modern females _ we love books seeped in the historic restrictive society and how resourceful females get their HEA anyway _ we enjoyed this series of books and their spin off series. The least for me was the one where the hero spent most of the time Ill in bed. I liked the tension in this book and the difficult challenges based on deeper things than the superficial or immature tropes of most. I didn't see the real attraction in the season 2_ didn't feel the chemistry. He had much more passion with his mistress in previous scenes. Which was a shame because the book is good. Others loved it, so to each their own. There's a reason we love Austen stories_ and even if I'm.drawn to intelligent and Indy females _ I enjoy the era and historic authentication too. I suppose we shall all know soon, how this story will unfold. I'm sure good writers might do her justice. There's nothing wrong with giving her a taste of the crush and attractions before Phillip. And when she does love, it will be something deeper for her.

When she meets him she grounds her in a good way and together they find happiness. The Netflix series made her a feminist, but on the books she is just difficult and rebellious haha

  • I can’t stand to watch these “clips” when they can’t even pronounce the words (especially names) correctly.

  • This obviously AI generated and narrated video is awful. Every other pronunciation is wrong, and some of the scenes come from very different movies.
