  • Dee as an amazing fellow. Articulate, funny, informative. He has great comedic timing and a flair for keeping your attention. His Congressional hearing testimony really caught them off guard! Twisted Sister is a great rock group and is instantly recognized around the work. "We're Not Gonna Take It" Is a legendary rock anthem! Rock On my brother!

  • Dee is a class act. One of the highlights of my almost 41 years old life was in 2009, when I was 26, and saw twisted sister here in Brazil, in the city of Sao Paulo. Im from a small town in the state of sao paulo, more than 6 hours away from sao paulo, one of the biggest cities of the world... it was all new to me, almost a country boy and of course a headbanger... today I work in Sao Paulo for the government in an electoral court and Im still hoping that I'll see Dee and Twisted Sister again, now that Im close to Sao Paulo. I already saw Helloween in 2022 in Sao Paulo.... now, lets hope we brazilians can see twisted sister again! Never stop rocking and headbanging folks from all over the world!

  • Great interview! Dee really brought it....and I'd expect nothing less. Used to see them frequently when they were still a Long Island bar band. Covered lots of Bowie, Thin Lizzy, etc., then eventually started writing their own stuff. Used to get the crowd to chant, "Disco Sucks! Disco Sucks! Disco Sucks! Disco Sucks!" while tearing up a poster of John Travolta from Saturday Night Fever, then launch into Diamond Dogs (or maybe it was Suffragette City). On the cusp of a record contract (around later 1977), they had to give that up as a condition of being signed by that label, which also had disco acts. People were kind of pissed at the time, thought they'd sold out their core principles just to get signed. But that's how things go. Dee, we forgive you!😉 Thanks for lots of great memories! (And also thankful no permanent hearing loss!🤣)

They played mostly hard rock covers like Judas Priest etc. They kept claiming they were going to be big and they were right! Dee knew they were a little shocking to behold for first timers. He pointed to a girl in the front and imitated her saying, “Oh my! I can see the head of his p***s through his pants!!” He was wearing bright spandex and he wasn’t wrong. 😳🤣🤣

    • Yeah, well, laws were different then...and they didn't change much years after that as well. One of my friends back in 2000 was 21 and was seriously dating a 15 year old, and this was in Indiana. It happened because they claimed they were both so much "in love", that they sat their parents down together and explained their feelings about each other to their parents. Well, both sets of parents bought it, and went along with it...in reality, he was from a church-going yet somewhat open-minded family, and she was a manipulative malcontent who almost convinced him to rob people at gunpoint. Luckily, fate stepped in and it never happened. She convinced him to rob the manager of Books A Million as he came out of the store with the bag drop at the end of the night, but apparently, he left early that night, and it mever happened. It was something that was WAY outside of his character. Unfortunately, he died in 2002, and she went on to do horrible things to others out in California. Sorry so long, your comment just brought a potent memory to mind...but yeah...
