Ep. 108 | Calling all Coyotes with Dustin Butler
Looking for a howling good time - look to calling coyotes. Jimmy and Mark sit down with Coyote calling expert (he would be humble and deny the title “Expert”, but we insist) Dustin Butler to chat through how a person goes about calling one of these masters of their surroundings into gun range. These crafty critters will test a hunters mettle every time they head afield. Coyote hunting can be a year round pursuit, licenses are cheap, and there is typically no bag limit (obligatory always check the regulations before heading afield.) And, if you get into putting up and selling hides, you may even make back a little gas money. There’s so much to chasing these buggers. Tune in to hear all about it.

Locating coyotes by howling to locate prior to hunting here in populated area of the east (in south central PA) is difficult. Small parcels of land and I’d have to basically stop off the road right next to a house to sound off with a locator howl. Plus IF the homeowner doesn’t pop out of bed and shoot me, more than likely if I locate some I won’t get permission to hunt on that land. This is the PA struggle gentleman. Having said that this is still a great episode thank you. Learning a lot.
NW PA here and it's a challenge here as well
Just came across this podcast a few weeks ago and you guys are killing it! As a coyote addict myself here in Ohio, this is one of the best coyote videos on just the information of the dog itself I’ve seen for a while keep it up!
That's fantastic to hear - thanks for tuning in!
Sorry to be offtopic but does anyone know a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb lost my password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me.

@Maximiliano Kingston Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm trying it out atm. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Maximiliano Kingston it did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy! Thanks so much, you saved my ass :D
I trapped for 4 years but I got into thermal hunting Coyotes and fell in love. Traps are in the shed now and I coyote hunt every chance I get. I killed 31 since January but it blows my mind how many some of these guys kill. I hunt NC and it is hunted hard around my area.
As an avid Eastern predator hunter and trapper it's easier for us to run hound dogs. but calling is the best feeling knowing you beat the odds of a super smart predator
Great pod
Thanks to all you gents for letting us listen in on the chat!
Also call pa Greene and Washington county’s called in all predators from fox to cats a fisher and even a black bear but this warm winter makein it more difficult and now several dog hunters now getting even harder

Here in SE Minnesota around our farm we drive them like a deer drive during the day and get them burning calories so they are good and hungry and sit and call with some distress calls the following day or two and just pile them up
