  • As old people myself, I can attest you are well able & expect to go a while longer until some day you can’t anymore. I suspect somebody got a companion thinking they were good for the dogs lifetime - but a fall or illness or grief came crashing in and a well loved companion was very much needed but the person could no longer do the care. He’s been loved & socialized at the least. I love big dogs, could use one that is strong enough to help me stand but I only have a mini doxie and a chihuahua because I can care for them -so far. Life is what it is, I’m glad he came into rescue but sad not mad that he had to.

He was trying to remove his headband, until he heard the noise of the dryer, then I think he realised why you put it on him and he stopped trying to take it off and just chilled sitting with it on letting you dry him for the most part.

Or you can even teach him to accept a nail file or a dremel if clippers make you nervous. If you decide to use clippers, make sure they're the scissor type and not the guillotine type. Guillotine nail clippers can crush the nail to cut it instead of cutting right through cleanly so it could actually be hurting his quicks even if you don't accidentally cut the quick.
