when mengueza subbed, de jong becomes the sweeper allowing Firpo and langlet to build possession in the midfield and attacking. De jong is the only one who stays deeper and when he got the ball or ter stegan starts the passing de jong pushed higher with the ball. He plays like Koeman's role in Cruyff's 343.

Not to forget how Wenger constantly criticised the slow buildup and low intensity of football Barcelona played with no emphasis on team pressing under Valverde. The biggest and only strength of that Barcelona side was Messi on God mode. Not to forget how the physique and work rate of so many players like Busquets, Suarez and Rakitic went down considerably. Any team that sat high and pressed could school this Barca, not just Liverpool,even Roma won convincingly.

But Navas was on the ground very fast. It was a mix of both. Most of Dembeles shots were not very good but Even those good once were saved by Navas.
With Eric Garcia and David Alaba, Barca could be a genuinely good team again - Lenglet has too many errors in him, Pique is getting too old, and Umtiti is too injured

Messi, Pedri and Busquets we’re by far the best players on the pitch with their ball retention and the ability to break the lines as well as their diagonal switches. Verratti , Gueye and Paredes were struggling to cope with the constant pressure
You missed de Jong. His performance was by far the best yesterday. How incredibly he controls the ball in back and maintain the possession. Ball retrivel of him was also amazing.

You need pace. It isn't a "fifa player" thing. Slow player passing around becomes ponderous and ineffective, especially against teams that sit back into shape. Whereas use of pace in key moments, such as transition, turn over, or to get the quickness one true first few yards to get into position for a pass will always cause more problems.

I think you should talking more about 3-4-3 formation used by PSG in the knockout stages of UCL.
Would you consider doing tactic analyses on Dejan Stankovic's Red Star Belgrade?
This is the kind of play and result we should leave UCL with.
I believe PSG played like this because they knew they had the quality to defend which they have been building since Tuchel last year (only 6 goals conceded last UCL campaign). So PSG knew defending deep would allow them to close down Barca and they could hang on to the healthy away lead and attack when possible on the counter. In the first half, this strategy could have come apart if not for Navas' brilliant saves including the pen. In the second half, with reorganization and the introduction of diallo, PSG managed the game easily to a 1-1 draw in the end. But of course, if they are to win the UCL, PSG will have to play more brave and a little open like they did at the Camp Nou. They are certainly capable.

Mate nothing against your analysis which are often good, but you haven't really watched much of the match if you think Mbappe really caused Mingueza any problems. Mingueza managed to intercept like 90% of Mbappes runs before he even came close to the Box. And even when Dest was high up the pitch. Thanks to the 3 at the back Mingueza got straight help from DeJong and it was a 1v2 situation on the right almost everytime, as Mbappe was the only one really high up the pitch. Mingueza only once almost really lost him and this was when he got a yellow for a tactical foul. And yet after this Mbappe still couldn't really get behind him and they targeted specifically Mingueza with a little bit of theatrical Dives (as they did for almost the whole rest of the match) to get him send off. And as Mingueza is very young Koeman feared he might fell for it and took him off very early. But even after that Mbappe barely caused any danger as Firpo and DeJong still managed to close him down very well. This was a tactical master class from Koeman and it was only down to not being clinical enough. This tie was lost in the first match.

The first 25 min of Barca was mind blowing. Exellence in pressing , attacking, forward runs, but poor finish. But Barca still have to learn how to make goals with headers and high balls. Look Miniques and lenglet got easy chances for heading and poor finish. Barca still not even considering for converting a high ball into goals. That's why they can't find goals in limited time. And poor greizman, his dribbling quality is poor. Need a player in that possession who can dribble and find enough space in forward. He is good player in long shots but certain occasions he passed to messi instead of shooting individually. Matches like these dribbling ,speed up, long shots are important to maintain the spirit for comeback. After 25 min Barca slowsdown and get back after Messi long goal. But still slowsdown after penalty miss. And continue continue second half with old style football of this season which was lazy on field. And why the hell Messi teamup with alba instead of dest. Dest is a fast player he can run past wingers and cut in. Messi such a genius in through passes have to make that attempts in second half. In nearly 80s brathwaith tried lot of overrun but barca even not attempting a high ball run for brathwaith something they did in first half to dembele. If you have to score goals try different attempts , not only focussing on clean ground passes. Pedri was by far the best player of yesterday. Look what a potential he had. There Were some Serious Bad Ref Decision Making . Icardi & his team didn't say Appeal anything about the Pen but gave them , then The Pen that Messi Missed should have been a Redo. Not really fair. Icardi penalty was very weak but technically still a penalty and I highly doubt Veratti stepping over influenced anything at all but all things fair it should of been retaken. Also, let's not look at the legitimacy of every goal in PSG's 6-1 thumping all those years ago. I think some of those goals were questionable. Better team over 2 games went through.
