What did you think of this match?
tbh man city was better but psg defence too good
psg teamwork and chemistry was like 9 out of 10 lol.loook the defence.unstoppable.cant even get past them and scoredonnarumma today was next level
Man City should have won it, creating soo many chances , Should have brought Phil earlier, KDB should have got more of the ball and overall a good game for city , we will show them our true power in the etihad, let's goo city!
Not a commen but a video suggestion of the Arsenal vs Spurs game
From your intro of saying both teams were good is totally wrong. Psg were not good in that match home advantage had them
PSG were really good at defending especially in 2nd half. City still lacks that Striker instinct inside box. City were really good at switch of play to right hand side where Mahrez was a continuous threat, while Grealish was pocketed by Hakimi. De Bruyne wasn't at his best.
Et oui il aurait fallu recruter Kane .Le départ d'Aguero est regretter.
City won league and reached ucl final without a striker
@@ImtheIC yh and still lost they are gonna struggle if they cant get a striker
@@myduck9962 It's not about striker . They just need to be more Clinical in front of Goal. They had Loads of Chances , but didn't manage to score. Even if they had a Striker , If the Striker Can't score ( Like when the opposite side have a world class Goalkeeper, and good defenders), then it's useless. A Striker is not guaranteed to score.
@@tatsuyaradheya3528 that's why you get a striker who can score
moving gueye into the back 5 to mark the left side on mahrez turned out to be crucial. will be exciting to see ramos come in once he's fit. he will most probably replace herrera and psg can shift to a 343 and defend with 5 having two quality wing backs now. I think this formation will also allow neymar and messi to play more in the half spaces rather than closer to the touchline.
Great analysis 💪🏾
i don't think herrera would be benched, poch likes him, he works hard and his form shows.
@@bparahag Herrera has been in great form so far this season. Hr will not be benched. Along with Verrati, and Gana, 3 of them will be heavily rotated. Its always nice to have depth.
I dont think ramos necessary walks into this lineup i know he’s sergio ramos but kimpempe and marquinhos both been playing well and so has the midfield of herrera, verratti and gueye so hard to see anyone being dropped
@@chap5674for sure but the issue with the 433 is that Neymar and Messi were too close to the touchline, similar to Enrique's Barca. Messi doesn't have the pace anymore for that and neymar is also more effective playing in the left half space. playing a 3421 would certainly help to fix this and get neymar and messi more involved.
Some of the flaws of not having a Striker. Sterling isn't a striker, he prefers the wings.
yea Sterling was pretty useless, Pep should experiment with double strikers when playing vs a team that has good CDM's who can deal with F9's.
I have been saying that for a longtime he's not a striker and more of a winger
@@davidcollins2044 well Pep have been playing his wingers as strikers for some reason
could've go with the double false-9...
He is useless at any position
That Verratti ran every build up alone, what a monster ✅
He waa incredible. Easily top 5 midfielders
He is super press resistant and better than debruyne in the match
@@lp3198 he is more complete and better in deeper areas of midfield.
@@jehvanmontieth1292 he is very good in defending and decent in attacking
@@lp3198 Verratti thrives in high pressured, high staked games.
Good game. PSG was so good defending. City got few chances but failed to capitalize. I don't think there's any big mistake from either side. Verratti key to break City's press.
Few chances??? 18 shots.. 9 shots on target.. never knew that was few. 😂😂😂😂🤙
@@uchihasasuke9787 Mahrez had 2 weak shots, Bernardo 1, KDB 1 etc. Donnarumma saved a good shot from De Bruyne and Laporte's header. Apart from these and the hitting the bar yeah it was just a few.
@@kurtchester7073 bernardo had a clart shot ..also kdb
@@zorojuro600 only two shots (KDB's and Laporte's header) troubled the keeper though, all the other shots could be saved by any professional keeper but yeah for stats it helps.
@@kurtchester7073 laporte header went straight to goal keeper and that's the best he could do. It was not even a half chance. The best chance was from Sterling header
How to win against Man City: Pray that Sterling is playing.. Success 👍
Fr Foden should’ve started
Grealish is also pure waste
@@kilipoyi1208 Bullshit. One average game where the ref let PSG run riot on fouling him.
@@AzureSkyes De Bruyne was a red card... I rest my case
Ole Solskjær liked the comment
Verratti is the definition of press resistant player
Messi dropping deep to work with him vs teams like Liverpool, Bayern man city and Chelsea will work wonders to avoid pressing. Neymar need to pick up, he has the talent to play at messi level and win this ballon d
I think FRENKIE DE JONG is a VERRATI type player.
Hakimi was extremely dangerous especially if he has the whole right flank to himself as was often the case with messi often roaming centrally. Was surprised to not see hakimi fire off a few shots or even a goal in this game. Grealish was often too sluggish to track back and handle hakimi.
he bullied Grealish so badly
Hakimi yesterday has clear instructions to focus on defending rather than attacking. He was tasked to limit the danger posed by Grealish and Cancello . If he went attack, he will be exposed defensively. Hakimi is better attacker than defender. One time he went running along side Messi. Messi scored, since Hakimi took a defender creating space for both Messin and Mbappe. Hakimi is devastating if he makes those runs. Very very dangerous. PSG could become really a more dangerous side when all the pieces come together and use their strengths. Neymar need to stop clowning and give the ball. The front three could work greatly and adding Hakimi to the mix is just more danger. I hope Poche uses back 3 system with Ramos as Libero, leave Hakimi for attacking.
Donnarumma was honestly MOTM for me. he saved all the 6 shots on target by City and many more, quality GK
don't get me wrong, im a massive messi fan, but most importantly i'm a mancity fan, and seeing messi being exceptionally silent by his own high standards, and then scoring in the last moment, even when city were clearly the more dominant team, just frustrates the hell out of me >:(
Fax bro
You just need a few minutes of brilliance to win a game....but tbh city should have scored at least 3.
@@RohitKumar-hi4qf they can if they sign a proper striker
Don't you wish your club had waited another week and signed free Messi instead of expensive Grealish? Hell, I would've bought and benched the kid and made him learn from watching Messi for a couple years. Messi shirts would payoff his salary anyway.
what is your real frustration a loss of man city or messi beign low on his standards
Veratti and Messi are the only players in psg who can control tempo and play simple and direct. City really outclassed psg but individual brilliance saved psg and poch. Still don't understand why poch isolated messi and only used him to provide width? poch dosen't know how to use messi. This psg team is not going to go past quarters
Oui tu as raison et allez l'OM
nice analogy but i think they will improve as the season progresses
Yes I also think they will go to the Quarter final only
no, that was perfact. the only problem was that neymar was not giving messi the ball, coz messi had lots of one on one situations. neymar's vision was clouded, he wante to break through from the middle park all the way on his own, while messi was often left alone. With one defender to beat. messi could have done more magic today and even created scoring chances for both him and mbape.
One Di Maria is back Messi will slot in as cam.
The way Hakimi was pocketing grealish is equal to child abuse.
😂😂😂😂
Foden was better against hakimi
The way Hakimi was pocketing grealish is equal to...Usain Bolt, vs.... everyone else. Better? ...... I dunno know
Well, the ref allowed him to constantly foul, so...
Hakimi didn't actually pocket JG. I don't know if it was something planned, but you will have noticed that whenever JD received the ball on his flank he would be doubled on by Hakimi + another (usually that ex manU guy, forget his name). This left GD with no option but either pass inside or back to Cancelo. A pattern soon emerged - Grealish back to Cancelo then a switch to Mahrez. Meanwhile, with Cancelo high up to assist JG meant space was left behind him which allowed Messi to operate. I think Poch knew City would load that flank, since Messi no longer tracks back. That flank will always be vulnerable and be targeted whenever Messi plays, so it's likely that against strong opposition, with Messi playing, we are likely to see Poch adopt same principle.
Love the new rating system you employ, lots of people dont know a lost is not only on the managers.
Sterling should not play in big matches. He is clueless, doesn't know what to do with ball and moreover gives it to opponents than to his teammates. Foden or Jesus should have started this game.
tbh city had a lot of dcent chances but too much unneccessary dribbling inside the box is what cost them They couldve fancied taking more shots from outside the box too.AND THE BIGGEST MISTAKE WAS TO PLAY STERLING IN PLACE OF JESUS OT TORRES.
Not true. City had 1 big chance in Sterling's crossbar and 2 decent ones, with De Bruyne and Mahrez shots saved by Donnarumma. There's no huge save made by him. They had the ball around the area, passing or crossing with no real danger. PSG were more threatening on counters.
@@dammitimmad9121 I mean when ur 1-0 down it's wiser to put in first-time crosses in the box flashing across face of the goal cuz surely there'll be 3-4 players in the box. For example grealish never bothered to take on hakimi and put a ball across
Donnarumma Is a Monster in the post 🔥
Sterling is not that guy currently, he must start from the bench else City will not win anything with him.
Man City pressing was so difficult to go through
Verratti doesn't agree
City were really poor in the top end. Let's not pretend that PSG were impenetrable. Donnaruma was on point.. PSG's front 3 started to show some scary moments, especially on the counter. Interesting to see how that develops.in the CL.
Nobody is impenetrable. That's what they said about City because they don't concede much in EPL...now it's 5 goals in 2 games.
@@dammitimmad9121 it was just commentary was making out that PSG had set defensively and were really compact and difficult. When they weren't remotely watertight. Lol
Pochettino be like: i did all this?
😂😂
Don't underestimate him
Man took Spurs to a CL final and turned them into a force in the PL. The dude is good.
@@G4MBIT yeah, i think psg is performing badly in league 1 because of lack of motivation, in UCL with Poch, they do good
I think this analysis has been adapted to the final result. I would say City actually dominated PSG, and every stat, but the goals, support this. The first goal came from an error in the box rather than any tactical move. The second was a gem, of course, but was likely with that front 3 and City failing to capitalise on their own opportunities. Secondly, Poch didn't really make any adaptations, or if he did (the Neymar on RODRI) they had no intended effect. The Gueye dropping to double up on Mahrez wasn't an adaptation, the same happened on the other flank with that ex-ManU midfielder dropping next to Hakimi to prevent JG going round him. Verrati did a great job being the sole protector of the middle area in these situations. But even with all this City still had way too many shots on target for any coach to be satisfied with this set up as an effective strategy.
I think if city had ferran Torres, gabby jesus and foden they would have been more aggressive and gotten 2 or more goals mahrez wasn't effective
"Error in the box?" I guess the ball just strolled into the box.
@@veritasmedia515 no, the ball was crossed...it reached Mahrez, who could have cleared (thats the error btw) before bubbling out to Gueye...who rammed it in!!
tbh man city was better but psg defence too good
Why when they gave up way more chances
@@JayzsMr you can't stop City from creating chances What you can do is stop them from scoring and that's what they did good
Marquihnos is the wall of psg beast for so long🔥
@@danielgomes1631 what ? Giving up chances means you didn't defend well . The more chances you give up the higher the chance to concede and PSG gave up lots of chances
@@JayzsMr but did they concede?
Thanks. This was great. That manager rating is a great idea. You can even pick one player from each team who was most crucial in executing a certain tactic
It has become universal fact that, irrespective of any tactic, you start with Sterling, your chances of loosing increase significantly
The game was simply decided by city's lack of a natural goalscorer. They created many chances but no player had the confidence and ability to take the shot and score a goal. With a good striker in city's ranks the scoreline may have been vastly different. PSG cannot win the UCL with their front three not tracking back
Dumbest comment in whole comment section. How then city won the league and reached to ucl final without playing their natural striker Aguero in the first place. Psg didn't even parked bus like Chelsea. The thing is city were just dealing in useless crosses and hoping for someone to be in the position to score. Lol. PSG counters were more threatening than those useless crosses. Psg didn't even 50% in the attack. After making of linking between Messi with other players, City won't even push half of yesterday. Vastly different, that's why they end up losing by 2-0 XD
@@ImtheIC last season city always had a Gundogan, Phoden, Sterling or Mahrez to pitch in with the goals. At this point in time none of those players are firing on all cylinders. I'd expect city to not score many goals against good defences without a natural striker. Their success last season was largely down to them having the best defence. As for PSG's counterattacks, they only started looking dangerous in the second half when city commited more men forward in desperation. With a goalscorer who had converted the chances early on their would not have been a need for that and the scoreline would have been vastly different
@@sumit7ranjan again some dumbest statement against your own first comment. You talked about pure no 9. Guno, Phill, Rahim, Mahrez no one is no 9 here. An the thing is 3 of them played yesterday. And talking about playing against good defense, you're telling that epl defense are not good lol. Except scoring goals most of city players played well by pressing more. And about psg counter, I doubt you watched the match yesterday. Psg did the most attacks before the half time. In total 6 shoots, 4 were before the half time. In 2nd half they did just put an extra defender and passing more..
@@ImtheIC you missed the whole point of my comment. City's goalscorer are not natural number 9's and hence city struggle when those players are out of form. They started last season slowly and only started to gain momentum when Gundogan started to pitch in with the goals and were subsequently helped by one or two players always stepping up for the occasion. But it's very difficult to win crunch games without a poacher who is consistent. They struggled against the best defences. In the 6 matches against United, Liverpool and Chelsea they only managed to win 2. About PSG's counterattacks you can present the stats in a way that suits you but you and I both know PSG were much more dangerous in the second half compared to the first. The attackers had much more space which lead to better quality chances.
@@sumit7ranjan I made my point what it is. PSG gonna take city even more in the Etihad. Because they have more things to left.m
The only weakness that I saw in that PSG team, was Nuno Mendes, He is very young and inexperienced, he is great, he just needs more experience
Agree. He got exposed some times
They need to play with 3 at the back when Ramos will be back, Mendes wasn’t bad yesterday tbh
That's why he was subbed.

Thank you Football Made Simple i was waiting for this
For me it was a game of who gets better, Let city possess and beat them on the counter, that's what Chelsea did in the final and Psg wasn't different.
Long awaited tactical breakdown from a clash. Appreciated FMS
rlly good video. love the tactical rating segment
You are so fast to finish this video. Excellent!
I waited a lot for this video
I am not an expert like @Football Made Simple but I think PSG should try 3-4-3 once Ramos is fit. The lineup should be like Kimbepe - Marquinhos - Ramos Hakimi - Herrara - Veratti - Nunes Messi - Mbape - Neymar This will allow PSG to be an attacking powerhouse whilst maintaining a lot of possession with Messi and Neymar dropping to midfield. Plus, Marquinhos is good with the ball, so he can play a pivot midfield role by pushing slightly higher than Ramos and Kimbepe. This ensures a midfield overload and pressing will be very effective with Veratti and Herrara. Both Veratti and Herrara can be replaced with Di Maria/Gueye/Wijnaldum. More possession means more ball time for Messi and Neymar to unleash their creativity. Pochettino has a real good chance to create a prime Barcelona-esque with this squad and also to create an amazing play style for PSG with a touch of his own identity.
How do you record these matches for analysis, because it's easy to analyze a live game. Any kind of app you use?

Verratti is a monster in the middle...he was the resistance to city press because of his ball rotation and movements on n off the ball..
Hi mate could you make a video on Inter 20/21 tactics?
Valverde---Rakitic Ole---Fred Guardiola---Sterling Mysterious manager obsessions that cost the team😌
Could you make a video talking about the tactical evolution of Tuchel? His PSG team with Neymar as a false 9 was amazing!
Man city played better but finishing they missed, psg need creative midfield they have more than enuff strikers
Hey football made simple do you think psg can fix there flaw by changing the formation to 343?
veratti was also KEY in italy midfield, not jorginho
Every time sterling plays city loses
Defending against Grealish should be very easy. Man just dribbles one way 😂
Neymar was still not that good in this game & not even close to the Neymar in Barca. He's getting hefty now while at Barca he could went pass number of defenders due to his slim body. Still , it's very hard to Beat PSG with Press because they've so much quality Dribblers who can turn the game on it's own. Verrati , Neymar , Messi , Mbappe are all able to Break Tight Press. Players like Nuno Mendes & Hakimi are fast too. That being said , result could go either way & imo City's chances were way lethal as they properly Made from Dominance & were creating Panick ,hone ground does help a team so let's see how PSG roll into Etihad. Messi May score more or less but it's helping the team , so far I haven't seen a single team committing to Messi because one on one they'll be dead & even with two , now PSG has players above the quality of Barca & they can easily capitalize. I'd like to see Mbappe at Winging Position , Neymar as a 10, Messi as Right Wing or striker. Mbappe at wing Plays deadly game while at striking position he just waits for a good Ball.
spot on. Neymar for me was the one who struggled against the tight pressing of city. He needs to pick up and release the ball much quicker. PSG players need to release the ball much quicker. things could have been worse for city if that was the case. Messi could break through all the city presses every time he had the ball. Unfortunately, because psg players were slow on passing, it was hard to find Messi and mbape more.
Well said

Donnarumma and Gueye 10/10
Idrisa gueya was simply awesome
City played with a high defensive line Psg knew that and played deep Psg were just waiting for mistakes in city transitions which could lead to potential counter attacks
Well, I will give Poch a 7-8. Because, it was as if he was more of letting Mahrez and Grealish have that wide space. It would have been more dangerous if Hakimi and Mendes stretched themselves, because obviously the front 3 will hardly ever track back to be frank. So I think it was more of a greater evil, lesser evil decision. Prefering to narrow the shooting angle rather than a wide post to hit at. Even though they were narrow, City still found those 1 on 1 or a full post to shoot at. Just not clinical enough😉, remembering Sterling's header against the post and Bernardo's miss also. So I give Poch that rating for foresight and realisation on what his side can and can not do. I give Pep a 5-6. I believe he should have noticed the intentional part of PSG's game. That is keeping the line narrow and preventing through balls. Maybe telling his players to find a cut back rather than a shot at goal would have been better. Generally an excellent team performance for PSG. Happy that Messi scored his 1st. Poch should leave Gueye and others in the squad. Verratti, Mendes. They are good destroyers of play and Verratti is like an Iniesta in the PSG squad. With that front 3 they need someone like him ready to not shine but do the dirty work.
Can Mauricio work out in Chelsea

Seriously, considering how shite PSG were, amazing that they won. Such is football I guess.
PSG's defence was pretty decent, I guess the front 3 were very lackluster and in midfield other than Verrati nobody really did anything effective.
yes, more like considering how good city were, its a shame they were so bloody wastefull with those chances
Pep is obviously superior in term of tactic and pressing. But yeah, psg defense was quite solid, man city forwards did not have enough composure, and Messi had his moment. So the scoreline doesn’t actually reflect the gameplay.

Neymar is smart that he now avoids getting injuries. I think he will unleash his speed when PSG get deeper into the knock out stage. MNM are ineffective if the opponents place 7-8 ppl in the final third. With Verratti, PSG can finally bring the ball up quickly.
City was really good in the first half, controlling transition of PSG and making inversions to the wings (specially by rodri). However, in the same time, city attack players weren't individually well as they are normally. Pochettino take the risk and put Messi-Neymar-Mbappé alone (with the intention to counter-attack city), which give a lot of space for rodri. City made a good performance

PSG will not be able to win C1 by defending at 7. The easiest way would be to ask Neymar to enter the middle to form a line of 4. Messi does not defend more than 10 years and Mbappé by staying high is a threat for the opponent. 100% Wijnaldum or Di Maria (who has already made great defensive performances) can join the 11 instead of Herrera to improve the team.
YES! I love the idea of manager ratings but Tuchel definitely needs some ratings for the games he has just managed in the past 6 months for sure
City gamestyle is always about spaces and easy option to scores but they don't have natural hitters. KDB isnt on form, Sterling is not a striker. Grealish slow dribbling make the opposition recover their spaces in the box.
It was basically 7 guys defending and 3 up front. Waiting for counter attacks. Mbappe still a threat. That can hurt you in a second.
It’s impossible to beat psg if they play with 8 defensive players , the wing back are very fast so u can’t bypass them grealish couldn’t do anything the whole game , u need real skills like mahres, also all their attackers can go thru 2 to three players by themselves.
Grealish was terrible in this game. Not only was he completely pocketed by Hakimi, someone who is not even known to be a good defender, but he was also extremely lazy and sluggish defensively, with not tracking back most of the time. You can do that when your name is Neymar, Messi or Mbappe, but definitely not when you're Jack Grealish, maybe his price tag has made him believe he is a star. When he was subbed off for Foden, City was more dangerous and the game was way more dynamic.
Rubbish take. Jack does track back. The ref allowed him to be constantly fouled by Hakimi which affected his ability to play. City only really improved after Sterling was subbed off.
@@AzureSkyes The fact that you call him "Jack", as if he is your pal with whom you regularly go to the pub with, and Sterling "Sterling" rather than Raheem, automatically disqualifies you from having an unbiased opinion. Foden had the same amount of tackles in 23 minutes as Grealish had in 67. Grealish had 0 interceptions, 0 clearances, 0 blocks. And even if you have the opinion that he did enough defensively, it's still telling that you don't deny how useless he was offensively. You'd expect a guy who costs 100m not to be "affected" by fouls. I mean, these so-called "constant fouls", which are more Grealish simply losing possession, that you supposedly saw are part of the game. How can you be affected by something which simply belongs to playing football, you know?
Please do sherif vs madrid
No North London Derby ??
I am not a City fan, in fact I support a rival club, but that referee was so biased towards PSG it was comical. Grealish goes down easily sure - but the ref clearly had some kind of issue with him. They should have had at least one penalty.
What about De Bruyne red card then? Grealish is just a diving merchant like Sterling and you should know that
@@ibrahima6907 he draws fouls a lot like Hazard, if he just dived City wouldn’t have spent 100m on him. And that challenge wasn’t a clear red in my opinion, although I wouldn’t have been outraged if it was given either. Yellow seemed fair to me.
@@dannyadams2211 The point he is making is that the ref was not biased towards PSG, or that was a very easy red card imo, that was the same challenge that saw Manu get a red.
Fodenstarting on left instead of grealish will make all the difference on wednesday. Plus laporte can't be trusted against good attacking teams. Stones and dias should start. Jesus for sterling.
Mbappe Donnarouma and nuno mendes where outstanding! It seemed like Mahrez will make the difference but kimpembe and gueve stopped him and Grealish was pocketed by Hakimi the whole game!!
*The ref allowed Hakimi to foul Grealish all game. Fixed it for you 🙂
