I wil still be skeptic over the Lewandowski thing,, coz i dont think Lewandowski will be able to pull off anh goal last night if he was present. Psg has neatly kept the spaces tight and left little for us(bayern) to attack. This has resulted in poor quality shots on target mostly easily received by navas palms. But the presence of Lewandowski would have made psg more alert and with gnabry, goretzka playing we could have capitalized such instances. Also sane wasnt impressive last night and has been almost diffident occasionally since his arrival. Also in such tight spaces long rangers would have made some effect i guess.... but again gnabry tolisso and Lewandowski are more experts than rest of the players who had played. Its only unlucky we had 2 injuries within the game and some of the key players out for sometime. Short of player options last night also had its effect. There wasnt great options for tired coman and sane ( these players have been playing like 5 matches kn 2 weeks) not in midfield witb alaba cannot exacly covering for goretzka s attacking ability inside the box.

A lot of people are criticizing PSG’s midfield and lack of creativity, but they are forgetting Verratti and Paredes were absent and they are PSG’s best midfielders. Paredes will be back next game. Verratti is still doubtful due to corona isolation
Neymar got them covered just fine, so Veratti missing is no excuse. The problem is attack overload with players not able to defend properly or make transitions, and weak defensive line. 1 in 4 front line was clearly excessive, as Neymar plays just fine with Mbappe covering half the pitch. They don't need half team in attack including Marquinhos, they need stronger defense which clearly missing men while everybody's on a mission to score. The team is simply not well balanced in terms of formations, but I hope we'll get lucky on Tuesday once again as I guess Navas is the only one not being instructed to kick and run.

It was very easy for Bayern to get a 1vs1 or 2vs 1 on the wings but unfortunately they missed the final pass or the cross. I think PSG became less vulnerable when they changed to a 4-4-2 defensively, but still Bayern came forward enough to score more goals... PSG were brutally efficient that was the main problem imo.
PSG was defending in 4-4-2 and 4-4-1-1 shape the whole game.

the key for Bayern in the second leg would be to open PSG's back line wide and pin Kimmich and Goretzka deep.If either Paredes or Veratti plays in the second leg,PSG will hav a lot more control in midfield,which would then allow Neymar to remain high as an attacking threat along with Mbappe,DiMaria and Draxler

It takes a genius to play your best player? you gotta be kidding. Neymar did all the job cause he's Neymar, he just wanted to win and took everything under control. Both Pereira and Gueye got 7.1-7.2 raiting on whoscored, Muller got 7.4 for instance, so much for wooden sticks. And the defenders got 6.0 - 6.3 btw. Poch is only responsible for weakening the defense with his 1910th football kick and run whatever happens tactics, which led to 2 goals conceded, that's all. They could have conceded more, if it hadn't been for Navas and Bayern's bad luck.

Bayern missed Lewa, PSG missed Verratti it's not about if's and what's it's about who got better of the other 12 to 5 shots on target 12 for Bayern and 5 for PSG, the latter were just clinical.

The defense is not very good, due to the high pressure it is also prone to high balls behind the wall. PSG has been trying this all along. But I would like to know why the defensive has such a fluctuating performance. Viewed individually, every defender is world class, but since Kovac everything has been chaotic at the back. Bayern are extremely lucky to have the best midfield and the best offensive in the world, no matter how many goals their opponents score, the offensive is able to turn the game around. combined with the incredible mentality and tactical understanding of Flick, the team is almost unbeatable, provided all players are healthy. Bayern will continue to dominate football for the next few years, just like Barcelona and Real did back then.
@@Mas-ic8bw It looks chaotic but they cut a lot of balls and they don´t give away nearly as many chances as you make it sound. Last night's game, like some others of the mediocre games this season, is more related to individual mistakes and/or lack of intensity than with a real problem with the defense. I mean, that first Mbappe goal was a blunder, it´s pretty clear he didn't even mean to shot that way, he wanted to cross his shot in the exact direction that Neuer dove into. But well, sometimes it's better to be lucky than to be good, a poorly executed shot got between the feet of the gk. And the Marquinhos goal was also a poorly executed offside trap, hardly an indictment on the high line Bayern plays because it was after a free throw so everyone was in the area. There is no problem with Bayern´s high line, people almost fanatically want to find the flaw in it but there isn't any. Of course, the other team creates more dangerous occasions when you do that, but in total, they also create fewer occasions since your defenders intercept the ball higher on the pitch immediately after a loss of possession. And well, if they fail to do that they "just" need to get back and hold the attack until the midfielders catch up. One of the big issues in this game was that Sule, who despite his looks is literally the fastest CB in the Bundesliga (and I mean literally, go watch the stats) got injure and Boateng, who is probably one of the slowest, had to go in.

Without Gnabry and Lewandowski Bayern's attack is heavily crippled. They had 31 shots on goal compared to 6 and only converted 2. I hate to say it, but Bayern needs to throw their hat in the race for Haaland or at least a decent backup striker to Lewy. With Flick's tactics you have to outscore the oponent. Yes, Bayern conceded 3, one of which was Neuer's fault, but they had 31 shots on goal and only scored 2. With better finishing, Bayern should realistically had 5-6 goals on the board.
Which top Striker wants to sit behind Lewy to wait until he retires? As long as Lewy is fit and still banging goals, he will play every minute possible. Haaland won't sit behind Lewy until he's gone. Choupo Moting is a preety good alternative cause he doesn't mind to sit on the bench. But it is logical that he doesn't have the skill of Lewy
A change between Coman and Sané would have given a lot of problems for Dagba. Dagba had a bad day, so by changing a right footed with a left footed wing, it would become easier to do more different things on the flanks. We never saw what Sané can do, by isolating him on the right side. His pace should've been used more against a slower Dagba. Instead he stood against Hernandez and Davies. PSG did execute their task well. Bayern conceded 3 goals against Bielefeld at the same way, they're weak in counterattacks against them. So with Mbappé and Neymar at top it was brilliant from Mr.Pochettino ⚽️

Not necessarily. We could potentially have Gnabry back (also has covid along with Verratti and the game is 6 days away). Paredes was suspended so he'll be back. It was confirmed that Sule and Goretzka did have injuries and they will most likely miss the match in bundesliga and might play in 6 days vs PSG. Marquinhos went off early with an injury but I can't find anything online about it so ??? Without Gnabry or Lewandowski we still managed 31 shots (and we had early subs of Goretzka and Sule) against PSG who were without Verratti or Paredes (and Marquinhos was subbed early). Whilst yes PSG have the advantage, saying that its already over if two people play is just dumb

PSG's tactics in a nutshell: Long balls for Mbappé and see what happens. It was so satisfying to see Bayern pressing so high and efficiently (14/15 Barcelona is a memorable example of this). I believe Bayern can make it to the semifinals.
But that Barca of 14/15 had fast and hard players for their Highline. Bayern players are too slow to play with Highline. They paid their price yesterday
