  • If anybody have told me that this Wolfpack team would win 10 straight games to get to the final four, I would have been shocked. DJ Burns and DJ Horne both have been extremely aggressive and tough in the 2nd half. Monumental win for Coach Keatts and N.C. State

    • It’s wild. Hands down the best combined day of basketball in my alma mater’s history. The 1983 survive and advance men’s championship only saw the women’s team make it to the Sweet Sixteen.

    • @@crzycolchriswatch Burns’ hands while he defends the post, he literally keeps his hands down to his side so you can’t call foul on him. He’s stronger than Edey so it’s not gonna be easy for Edey to get to his spots but Burns definitely lacks some stamina and agility that Edey has. It’ll be a fun matchup to watch for sure.

Better guards, a big man that weighs as much as Edey, but is 7 inches shorter, Burns can knock him off balance, no one else has been able to do that. NC State is a more cohesive and complete team across the board IMO. If Edey has a slightly off game... NC State will win by double digits IMO.

  • Crazy thing is that to win the national championship in '83 we had to win 9 games, including the ACC tournament, two to go. Who else was on the brick yard on April 4, 1983. Bryan F., '84.

    • I was there the weekend prior for the semifinal win. Bonfire, people on roofs of business on Hillsborough!! Incredible. 31 of us were spending night at hotel on Hillsborough on way to Basic Training at Ft. Knox. Didn’t even get to watch the final. What a year that was. One special night of freedom before getting 3&1/2 months of military misery.

    • @@kja6336right. They were lucky to even get this far. Being beat by UNC both times and then getting beat by nc state twice as well. If dook made the final four we can mostly say they’d get whooped by Purdue. You can get lucky a couple times but teams will get exposed eventually

  • Die hard Duke fan, but congrats 2 State. They showed up and never caved when we jumped up in the 1st half. I'll definitely be rooting for you all moving forward. Well deserved. As far as my Devils, I'm proud of this unit. I actually thought we'd be out by the 2nd weekend & was just looking forward 2 next year (as i feel we'll be MUCH more dangerous). Either way, great season & much respect 2 the Pack! Bring home that chip!

  • I think State will match up well against Purdue. Eddy will be a force..but thats pretty much who purdue relies on you get big man a few fouls early it will be bench time for him. State is on a roll. I am a big fan and have been all of my 50 years...never would i have thought this team would have won the ACC championship and then be in the final 4.. kinda reminds me of a team back in 1983.. no one took seriously until they kept winning.. GO WOLFPACK!!!!!!!

  • I picked NC State to win it all simply because I live near Raleigh…..this is what can happen when a group 100% believe in one another. One thing I love about Nc State is all their players are stepping up. The announcers are talking about Burns and then Middlebrooks or Horne make a big play.

    • Yeah, the miracle ‘83 run team only had to win 3 ACC games to get the bid. This year we won 5 ACC tournament games to get in. Phi Slamma Jamma of Houston were huge favorites, but UConn has been destroying teams. If State makes it past Perdue, that’s an amazing season. If they beat UConn? Greatest NCAAM title ever, in my opinion.
