  • This showed the importance of Free Throw shooting. UNC made 6 of their last 8 FTs, Duke missed 4 of their last 6 FTs, and UNC won by 4.

  • Caleb Love has no fear in the big moments. That's a quality trait that not everyone has. He was just 2/9 from deep and when it came time to sink the dagger he didn't hesitate.

    • I believe he was. When Hubert conserved his timeouts and down the stretch he used them to calm down his team and to set up defenses Dean was there. Hubert learned from the best and this victory had Dean, Guthridge and Roy's finger prints all over it. The torch was passed to the right man and keeping it in the family preserves the Carolina Way. Dean would be proud.

  • Love with the clutch 3 and hitting 4 foul shots sealed the deal. Incredible game on both sides. I’m so proud of my Heels! Hats off to coach K and all that he has done for the game. Best rivalry in sports hands down.

  • This was college basketball at its finest. As the game has changed over the years... one thing remains true... this tournament is some type of special, man. To have Duke/UNC in the final four for coach K's final game.. and then to deliver a game like this. This game will live on with legendary status for generations. It is not a recent bias to say that this was/is one of the greatest college basketball games of all time.

    • So much emotion in that moment... it's easy to say we would all do the right thing, but IMO, until we're in that moment, it's hard to speculate about. Had the roles been reversed & UNC won, I wouldn't have blamed them for walking off while the opposition celebrates either. Like you said, though, an instant classic!

  • Words cannot describe the amount of stress and agony I was experiencing. I was losing my mind. When it got down to 18 seconds and we were up, I was so sure my heart would jump out. I literally said to myself "we're up, I'm not moving from this spot. . .I'm staying here until the final score cause this spot is helping us." When that final score flashed and Carolina won, I was sure my neighbors downstairs would call the cops cause of how loud I was!!!

  • Big shout out to Puff Johnson somehow holding off Banchero on that missed free throw to help seal the game. He's made some significant contributions. Got us a bucket when we desperately needed it when Bacot was out. Pretty much the only help off the bench in this entire run besides Style's 3 against Baylor.

  • Rewatching this clip, you really get to see so much stuff that transpired that goes unspoken about that truly could have changed this game's outcome or sent it to OT. rewatching the game in its entirety will be fun for the same reasons. Agonizing, yet fun as a basketball fan.

  • Carolina fan here that LOVED the EPIC win! But wanted to take a moment to recognize Coach K for his incredible career with 5 National titles and 3 straight USA Basketball Olympic Gold medals. I don't think anyone will ever top that. Loved to hate Duke all these years, but admit it won't be the same without Coach K. Thanks for all the memories Coach.

One and done guys ? How many pan out? 25 30%. PAT Connington had a 10 million dollar contract to pitch in Mlb. 6 signing bonus. He stayed at Notre Dame to play with Grant. They lost to Kentucky in Elite 8. When they had towns and another 6 11 guy. Connington a 6 4 white guy outrebounded both those guys. Even with their 6 8 center only play 20 minutes cause lame calls. Irish still should have won. Kentucky got theirs when Wisconson beat them in semis to ruin undeafeted season. Notre dame missed 2 front end 1 an 1. Missed 2 of four after in last 5 minutes. Left 6 point off board. List by 1.
