I already talked about the plan I had to expand the log cabin to add bathroom and sauna and I began with the work a few months ago. I lifted the main logs in place and created the frame for the bathroom and sauna.

When you were inserting those vertical beams inside the horizontal cabin logs, I was wondering why, so your explanation about planning for the movement and settling of the logs made complete sense. Hell Yes, The Insulated Slots I had a hard time Trying to Figure how much Heat loss you would get, but then you Explained, it was for Settling, and Movement That was Brilliant, Great Work. I took my Family, to my Friends Log Cabin, at the Lake, and a Small Storm came in and that old Cabin was, Popping, Creaking, and Moaning, Damn, so much for he Romantic Getaway. had me my Wife, both kids and the Dog under the Covers. I'm Stealing that great Idea. 🤠
I was so confused about those inset vertical beams you put in the ends of the existing log house! I figured I'd never know what purpose they served. Nic I realize now that I could never muster the patients and fortitude to wrestle and work those giant timbers the way you do. It seems to take forever just to position and anchor one single giant log; you just hang in there and work, work, and work until it is just where you want it and then bingo, a beautiful addition begins to appear. Who would have thought that building and adding to a log home would be so complex. My hat is off to you my friend as you are truly a man's man.

The story arc with Nik throughout the channel has been that of some type of woodworking superhero, lol. He started as a lowly man in the forest learning and honing a craft into a full blown woodworking machine that I have complete faith in. i know that sounds nerdy but I was just sitting here thinking this as I watch.
