Now Iam in a serious confusion between the Razer blackshark V2 and the Corsair hs65 wired. My top most priority is sound/audio quality as I'll be mainly using it for media consumption tbh and yes also ocassional competitive gaming. Wanted to know that which one among these two can Overall give me the best experience and make me feel that the upgrade from my current headset is actually worth it Really in a serious confusion at the moment, and your precious suggestion and response to this will really mean a lot to me man, eagerly looking forward to your response and thanks in advance!

  • Hi Dmitry, I love your headphone reviews. How do you rate the VIRTUOSO RGB WIRELESS XT? I'm looking at a higher-end set and thinking of cutting some wires. I got my hands on one to feel at a local store and like that there's almost no plastic--the band is metal so no chance of breaking from constant putting on and off. I hate to say it, but my Sennheiser (now epos) gsp 600's are mostly plastic, which has cracked and the ear-cups have disintegrated . . . again after less than a year after replacing the originals. I love how they sound and feel, but the quality issues are really pissing me off. I need good sound when editing videos and doing audio, but also for gaming, so if the Virtuoso's are good, I'm down to try them. Unless you think they'll be upgraded/revised soon. I can wait some. Thanks and great vid as always!!!

  • I was excited about the HS65 Surround... And then I noticed it was open back. I like headsets that block out background noise. The open back headsets tend to let too much outside noise in. With a closed back headset you can play games while there's someone else in the room watching TV, etc. With the open back you usually can't do that because, not only will you hear the TV, but sometimes the other person will even hear your audio coming through the back of your headset.

  • True surround sound must have 2 drivers in each ear, (front and back) and most have four connections for the front, rear and left and right drivers. If there are 2 drivers one left and one right all you can do is tell if the sound is higher in the left or right ear.

  • Suppression of background noise always comes at a price as voice manipulation and filtering happens. I've always heard that audio manipulation in test clips when background noise suppression in on. Sounds a bit robotic. The H65 and H80 mics sound amazing! BTW - Amazon currently has a coupon code (may require Prime but don't think so) in the US site for $20 off the H65; $59.99 + tax.

    • A good directional microphone can sound fine. Sound processing on the other hand does tend to degrade the sound quality, especially when using older and simpler algorithms. Some of the newer developments are however miles better than what was available just a few years ago. Krisp as implemented by Discord is pretty light weight, doesn't have any HW lock-in, does a pretty good job of eliminating key clicks and most noise from the surrounding while leaving the voice recognizable if still definitely processed. But if it's noisy enough it can be worth it. Nvidia Broadcast is objectively better than Krisp, but is tied to Nvidia hardware and still adds some of that robotic quality that you talk about. The good thing here is that it's possible to choose if you want to or have to use noise suppression instead of the microphone sounding crap from the beginning.

Fiddled a bit with some G935s but ended up returning them since they didn't feel like much of an upgrade, and if anything they removed the dolby surround from them. Also tried the Cloud 2 wireless but again ended up returning them as well as the surround was really not great and as another deal breaker the mic mute was on a button instead of the mic itself. Best I could do so far was get better pads for the 633s but it's not like that changed how bulky and plasticky they are...

Which wired headset would you recommend for predominantly PC (and XBox very rarely so not a deal breaker) at the below Australian prices right now: (a) EPOS H6PRO at $186AUD; or (b) Razer BlackShark V2 at $89AUD (the V2 X version at $67AUD); or (c) Corsair HS80 RGB USB at $$113AUD; or (d) CORSAIR HS65 at $99AUD? If going wireles, what would you choose over (i) CORSAIR HS80 RGB Wireless Premium at $195AUD; or (ii) Razer BlackShark V2 Pro Wireless at $149AUD; or (ii) Razer Barracuda X (2021 model) at $100AUD or (2022 model) bluetooth version at $164. Or any other headset that is superior/better value than the above. Thanks

  • How would you guys (owners) go about prolonging the life of your ear pads since they aren’t replaceable? I’ve always had HyperX headsets since 2017. And frequently replace them because the “leather” would flake away eventually. 🙏

  • HS65/HS80 have the most natural sounding integrated mics I've heard since the Cooler Master MH751/MH752 from several years ago, which was clear enough to be mistaken for a lav mic in most non-professional listening setups.

  • Hello i woud like to change my old hyperx cloud for something better. I think this HS65 is a good choice, but it is ear pads detachable? I think is a importat. I always change my ear pads after some years to new one. Or is better change my old hyperx cloud to hyperx cloud II? I have B360M D3H Motherboard, Realtek® ALC892 codec

  • How good is the HS80 at blocking out background noise? I usually game in a living room where people walk around and was curious how well the microphone doesn't pick any of that up.

    @samarro7250@samarro7250 Жыл бұрын
    • @DEEJ these headphones are not intended for busy environments, so the microphone picks up everything around you. I had a problem with the size of the headphones and they did not suit me at all due to the comfort of the ear pads. ear pads are very small and the material is not pleasant at all. I recommend 100% leather ear pads. If you are looking for gaming headphones buy something from hyperx and don't look at the reviews because they will probably tell you that they have bad sound. If you want something of quality, buy something from audio technica. But if you are looking for headphones purely for gaming without dealing with software and settings, buy the hyperx or shennheiser which are praised rightfully. But cheap all-in-one headsets are hyperx for me mainly because of the comfort. I wouldn't bother with the microphone at all because it will be at the same level everywhere and HyperX doesn't have an extra good one but it's enough to chat with friends on discord without sounding like a robot. If you want a good headset with a microphone, I know of only one audio technica that is comfortable leather gaming headsets in the more expensive category. Don't rely too much on the reviews. HyperX has deserved popularity.

  • The only thing that breaks it for me is no detachable cable. No matter how good a cable is, something can happen and buying a whole new headset b/c of a cable is just pain. Also I find it odd that your mic test of the hs55 and hs65 are so different while other videos I've seen the mics seem identical. Wonder how that happens.

    • yout totally right I also saw other videos of the HS55 vs HS65 and they weren't that far of, yes the mic on the HS65 is better but not by that much. In the video it sounds like it wasn't recorded properly or it had gone threw some changes!

    @alexisonfiiire@alexisonfiiire Жыл бұрын
  • I had to return it because it does not fit large heads well. My hat size is 8 3/8 and this headset was way too small, even after removing the elastic band. It kept sliding up and falling off my head, it's a shame because the mic is so good. The elastic design is so counter-intuitive. You are trying to push the headset down so it fits your head... and then they add an elastic band that is pushing the headset UP away from your head.
