I have some EGL dresses I'm working on the next two weeks and then hopefully working on a top to match my Syrena tail I snagged on black friday. I also need to noodle reinforcing my luna. 1st one has a small tear... 2nd one I ordered I popped the strap clean off somehow. I'm thinking of using horsehair braid and aquarium sealant. :(

A couple of years ago, my little granddaughter, 10 at the time, was fascinated with mermaids. So, to bring her a little joy, I crocheted a tail for her. It was fun because she could get in it and use it kind of like a sleeping bag, except that it looked like a mermail tail in beautiful colors. She was so very happy, and it kept her warm in mermaid style! You do wondrous work@🧜♀️🧜♂️🧜

I have finally decided to start my own tail as a personal birthday present. I am extremely excited to have a tail skin especially one of my own design. I am making it out of neoprene. Tho if you have time. How much do extra fins (especially larger ones) effect swimming?

I got a few questions. What fabric are you using? If it’s real neoprene it would be very hard to use a regular sewing machine. Secondly, what was the reason for leaving the bottom open. I agree with everyone else. You make it really relaxing making this.
I’m pretty sure the bottom is left open to easily insert the monofin.

Thank you for this video, I recently got a neoprene tail which is a gorgeous design but the stitching wasn't great. They overlocked everything to sew it to together, which you shouldn't do with neoprene as it bunches and becomes chunky, and that was it. Didn't even straight stitch it first and overlock to "neaten", the overlocking IS the stitching holding it together! So all the stitching is showing on the outside because the overlock stitches are too loose to actually hold it together. So I'd been contemplating whether I should unpick and just sew it myself, but I wasn't sure if overlocking was a standard practice in neoprene tails and I was upset for no reason. Seeing this video makes me think I should go ahead and re-sew it.
