HI BAW if I didn't see the video I would have not believed what done it was amazing and beautiful. weldone.
Thank you so much for your comment 💖
I love the "slap slap slap" of the tools on the workpiece when you first start. It's soothing for some reason, but I bet it can be utter hell on the hands and wrists at times. Awesome work, as always, sir.
Erick yes it can be hard on the wrists if it lasts too long 😉 Thank you so much for your comment 👍
It really gets the inside of my elbow the most.
The colors are wonderful!! The reds and blondes are great together!! Love your world!!
Thank you so much Annmarie 😉
again , a stunning creation....love it.
Thank you so much Barbara 😊
I thought it looked cool even before you started turning it. Super nice!
Thank you so much 😊
Watching you saw that oak log reminded me of all the times we've had to clear a tree or some branches. I love the somewhat sour smell of fresh cut oak.
Queenb67 yes the oak has a very particular smell that I really like 😉
Cutting the mid section out so finished piece had two sections of bark was inspired, the rest isn't too bad either ... another fantastic piece 👍
Thank you so much Barry😉👍
Unique piece, great job!

...at first I didn't understand gluing the two pieces of the cut log back together, but now I see it allowed the piece to have the two live edge adornments...brilliant and beautiful...congrats on an awesome piece!!!...👍

Simple, yet ornate, functional, but elegant reminder of how things were.
Thank you so much Harry😊
Very nice Morgan. Cute design.
Thank you so much Laura😊❤️❤️
Wonderful project!!!
Thank you so much 😊
Excellent.
Thank you so much Alan 😉
You had me thinking at the start, as to why an oval wood blank. After the turning stage I called you a " Sly Fox ", as a compliment because I did not foresee the beautiful finished product with both turned and natural finish. Great job, and even the laser had input too. Thank you Morgan for another fantastic job, well done. It is a 10/10 from the Wales panel lol.
Thank you very much for your comment 😊

Once again, I am amazed by your uncanny ability to create from complex and integrated designs that provide symmetry and beauty in the finished project....bravo!
Thank you so much Dr Skip😊❤️❤️
Oh My Goodness....could you be any more amazing??? That was like watching a mystery unfold...there is a point where your vision is revealed (to armchair aficionado's like me) and it is so very satisfying...I am mystified as to how you managed to keep the rough work...so well done...you should be very proud
Thank you so much i'm very flattered😊💖

Thank you so much Bhim 😊
That vase I really like! ❤️ It's intriguing to see where you are going with each piece you make. The construction and planning process is as fascinating as the turning. The live edge on the side of the vase is very attractive and hanging your logo around the vase was a nice touch. 👌 😊
Thank you so much Lynn 😊❤️❤️
Very nice, Morgan! Simple but beautiful vase with just the right touch of special features you add. Well done!
Thank you so much Greg 😉👍👍

Genius
Thank you so much Irène❤️
Very beautiful piece! I love the top of it, and the natural bark on the side. Absolutely amazing as usual! Take care!
Thank you so much Racheal ❤️
Very nice!
Thank you so much Doug😊
I have already looked at your work three times and I cannot yet perceive how you managed to erase the bark only partially as the log turns at great speed. I am totally ignorant of woodworking techniques and for me you are a hardworking magician.
Thank you so much Beatriz,i'm very happy that you appreciate my work💖
He starts with an oval which is turned into a cirkel. So instead of taking of material all allround, only material from the “high” parts are shaved off. If you stop in time offcourse. Perhaps I’m wrong. But that looks like the solution to me. Great idea btw. Don’t see it often. And I like it!
@@TheUnknownDutchman Thank you, sauerchristiaan. I see it now clearly. While looking at the video I was all the time wondering why, instead of working with the whole log, he cut it into two pieces.
You are truly an amazing artisan! I am always intrigued by your choices of woods, angles, and even the tools! Like when you choose the small carbide tool for the finite curve…. Mmm good stuff 👍
Thank you so much Terri❤️❤️I’m very happy that you appreciate my work 😊
Stunning piece 👌
Thank you so much Terry 😉
Not seen this yet but know it’s gonna be good, this guy never lets us down👍🏻😉😀
Thank you so much 😊
Amazingly beautiful job my friend. I appreciate your talent and your incredible imagination. Don't ever change, love from Minnesota ❣️
Thank you very much Wendy I am very happy that you appreciate my work, I salute the Minnesota 😊👍👍💖
Love, love, love the bark that you left on this piece! Also the introduction of the other wood to highlight the throat. When you use a large raw piece of wood how long does the process of working it down to the general shape you want take? Are you gripping the tools for dear life or being light handed? Thanks, Morgan for another beautiful piece and the great tag you put on it 😉.
Enaid Thank you very much, I am very happy that you appreciate this piece 😊💖 to make a piece like this it takes several days with drying time.
Muy bello!!
Thank you so much Maria 😉
Amazing as always. I have tried this design twice on smaller pieces (rolling pin and a pepper mill) and can not seem to get the crossing boards to intersect properly. Very impressive.
Thank you so much Jon. , I’m very glad you like it 😊
Great work. You should post your work in KZhead 😍
❓ isn't it what I already do🧐
magnifique
Merci David 😊
Very nice ❤❤
Thank you so much 😊
It would have been easier and probably safer to use a roughing gouge on the the live edge section at the bottom. It's only when you get to the knot section that you have cross grain. The other sections are all long grain. Still looks good though
😉
Belo trabalho parabéns
Thank you so much 😊
Always wondered how woodworking lathe survive beating from such huge disbalanced piece of wood. My washing machine travels up to 10-20 cm when improperly loaded.
Dimitri yes, this is one of the criteria to check when buying a wood lathe, it must be heavy and have solid bearings 😉
great xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Thanks Paula😉
Amazing inspirational work! But what were you smoking when you came up with this idea? 😂 Love it
Thank you so much for your comment Mike😉
great job i love it,wish you would talk thur it
Thank you so much 😊
What did you put on over the Danish Oil to get that shiny finish?
Edward I put Danish oil back😉 1 coat is satin but two coats it shines
Nice. Question Why not let your Laser cut not your coin? Thanks Tim
it's too thick for the laser😉
This is beautiful! Is it available to buy?
Thank you so much Colin😊 no this piece is not for sale 😉
@Beatriz- if I understand your comment/question correctly, the bark is only removed from part of the log because it is not truly round as it spins on the lathe.
Bryan That is why I cut it in three at the beginning of the video..to get an oval piece
