I would have never thought to come up with this, very cool and ingenious.
Excellent ! I will definately try your method of making a square bowl! Your bowls are beautiful!
Great job. Nice work! Thanks for sharing. I'm old so bear with me here. I learned much in 17 years from a Master Craftsman from Denmark and he saw me rapping the tool rest to clear the chips from my (his) gouge and said to me. "Never do that again." Being full of questions & eager to learn, (I still am today) I asked why. He said what has stuck with me now for the rest of my days, I'm retired now. "Every dig, scratch, dimple or wave in a tool rest, reflects your inability to respect your tools and your work." It was hard to hear that from him as I always left an area I worked in cleaner than I found it and I respected his lifetime of teaching his trades to others. I spent the rest of the hour that day bringing to a polished surface that tool rest and gouge. Sometimes the simplest things make the difference between a Master's work and novice's work. I'm still learning those differences.
Beautiful work I love it. Thanks for sharing
Now, these are beautiful, and practical!
Wow brilliant work thanks for sharing 🥂
Wow; what a beautiful shop! I could make anything in there! Just this weekend, I was turning a big 6x6x36 piece of mahogany into a replacement front porch roof finial, and a drop. I've been using my great cheapo old lathe for over 40 years. I've done all kinds of woodwork, but the lathe is still the coolest tool!
Dave H yes, I’ve been drooling over his shop for a while .... I could easily lose all my fingers there in an afternoon.
Hi Olivier, Two lovely bowls. Great work. Cheers, Huw
Very nice bowls. I am going to glue up a blank today. New subscriber!
Great technique as usual. Composition, and artistic expression also, as usual, top notch. Love all your videos, very informative. Would love to see more of what speed you have your lathe at.
Fabulous bowls. Thank you for sharing 🌞🌞🌞
Bravo l'artiste.
Beautiful .also would have made a beautiful box.with final top. Thank you.
Wonderful works!!!!! Hello from Los Angeles, I truly enjoy your videos!

beautifully executed!
Very nice work. Nice concept too. Excellent!
Very beautiful superb amazing work God bless you
Great skills. Love your shop
Gosh until you see how it's actually turned, it's hard to understand how it stays square even tho it's spinning on the lathe. Love your wrk mall original and never a dull design. 🇺🇸👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you for posting with tasteful music at a lower volume so can hear your work in progress. Nice shop layout and great work!
love your work Olivier :)
No problem ! Superbe travail. Merci pour ce partage.
Finally, a great video with listen-able music! Nice job Olivier.
Great looking bowls. There’s another one to add to my list of things to try making lol.
What a great idea, very nice work.
Perfection!
Wow that’s great I like what you did and I never seen how you did it.
Only silly, immature or very jealous people would dislike a video like this one..or kids. You are more than a craftsman. You are gifted that's for certain.
Great looking bowl 👍
Nice project and nice lathe!!
Wow Oliver, you always surprise me, and I’m always thoroughly impressed with your work. In my opinion you are the best turner on you tube, your work and imagination for the extraordinary are so impressive. I only wish you were able to upload more videos, but of course it takes time when you are doing such complicated works of art, (like your 30,000 piece, that should be on display at an art gallery) just know I love your work xx
Thank you Elaine ! I'm looking forward to your nice comment now every time I upload. Cheers.
Very nice, and very clever. The contrast of round and square is very attractive. It might have been interesting to leave some of the darker wood in the centre, for some colour contrast as well.
Merveilleuse!

Really nice piece .
When I saw the title, I was like, “Whaaa?” Those turned out awesome
excellent art work.
You are the mad scientist of wood turning! AMAZING WORK!!! Do you sleep with that lathe!?!
Nice, Olivier, really nice! Billy
Vachement sympa !👍❤️
super travail... c'est magnifique...
C' est tres bien. Mercie pour cette video.
BRAVO l'ARTISTE
Great work
Magnifique
Cool!!!!! Bravo👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Ok, you started with a cube and turned it into a cylinder. That seems straightforward. Then you turned the cylinder into 2 square bowls. That seems completely counterintuitive (given that I am not a woodturner myself). What amazes me is how you conceive of these projects. Do you have it all figured out to start with, or do you have to do several "drafts" before you get it the way you want? Either way, it is a pleasure to watch the progeny of your mind emerge.
