Return to a world of two realities: one, everyday life; the other, what lies behind it. To find out if his reality is a construct, to truly know himself, Mr. Anderson will have to choose to follow the white rabbit once more.
Cast:
▶ Keanu Reeves as Thomas Anderson / Neo: The prophesised "One" from the previous version of the Matrix, Neo has been repaired by the machines and reinserted into a new version of the Matrix, with his memories suppressed in order to keep him under control. Despite sixty years having taken place since Neo's sacrifice, Neo has only aged twenty years thanks to the machines' modifications to his body. As Thomas, Neo unwittingly creates additional programming for the Matrix through his career as a video game developer.
▶ Carrie-Anne Moss as Tiffany / Trinity: Neo's romantic interest who was freed from the Matrix by Morpheus in the first film, and killed at the end of the Machine War. The machines recover, repair and modify her body and reinsert her into a new version of the Matrix. As with Neo, her memories of her previous life are suppressed by the machines and she becomes Tiffany, a suburban mother-of-three with a penchant for motorcycles. Despite sixty years having passed since her death, Trinity has only aged twenty years thanks to the machines' modifications to her body.
▶ Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Morpheus: An alternate version of the hacker who freed Neo from the Matrix.
▶ Jessica Henwick as Bugs: A gunslinger with a White Rabbit tattoo, and captain of the hovercraft Mnemosyne.
▶ Jonathan Groff as Smith: Thomas' business partner and Neo's former arch-nemesis and Agent of the Matrix.
▶ Neil Patrick Harris as The Analyst: The creator of the current iteration of the Matrix, who masquerades as Thomas' therapist, working closely with his patient to understand the meaning behind his dreams and to distinguish them from "reality" while keeping him within the Matrix.
▶ Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Sati: An exile program created without a purpose who met Neo shortly before the end of the Machine War.
▶ Jada Pinkett Smith as Niobe: A General of the human bastion Io and former captain of the hovercraft Logos.
▶ Toby Onwumere as Sequoia: The operator of the Mnemosyne.
▶ Max Riemelt as Sheperd: Niobe's most-trusted captain at Io.
▶ Brian J. Smith as Berg: A crew member of the Mnemosyne who has studied Neo.
▶ Erendira Ibarra as Lexy: A crew member of the Mnemosyne who idolizes Trinity.
▶ Lambert Wilson as The Merovingian: A self-professed trafficker of information who encountered Neo prior to the end of the Machine War; he now seeks revenge on Neo for inadvertently stripping him of his purpose when the previous Matrix was destroyed.
▶ Christina Ricci as Gwyn de Vere: A business executive at Thomas' video game company.
▶ Telma Hopkins as Freya: The head of botany in Io.
▶ Chad Stahelski as Chad: Tiffany's husband.

Neo and Trinity’s choice to remake the matrix as they see fit is exactly what the machines wanted. Essentially, the machines wanted a human or 2 to replace the Architecture, but willing do it. They need them to be Gods with feelings and emotions, as the machines can’t do it. When they chose to remake the matrix, the machines won.
It's not too different from the peace brokered at the end of number 3 where everybody wins. Those humans who like that world and subconsciously want to stay can, those who don't can leave, but in this case Neo and Trinity can modify the Matrix world into a place where more people will want to stay, a world with more freedom for the inhabitants.

Very well said....I had a dream last night where me and a bunch of little dwarves were trying to escape a colossal shadow demon that was rampaging and destroying everyone, and we had to hide in an abandoned school for a bit....then we immediately were told by a teacher (who appeared) that we had to compete in the physical fitness assessment...series of exercises and challenges....so we literally asked the shadow demon to wait.. and he did...and we went off to this bizarrely tiny room for pull-ups and stuff....and all the teachers had long, rubbery faves and couldn't speak properly. In the old days, the matrix was a captivity that imprisoned the minds of humanity and they fought to extinguish it. In this movie, they decide to just enjoy life with superpowers inside the matrix
Well yeah. At this point it’s so intrinsic to human life that to extinguish it completely would be to rob humanity of something it’s grown too accustomed to living with. That would destroy us in worse ways than the Matrix being invented ever did. So why not take control of it instead, make it a place where anyone can do anything, where machines and men can coexist peacefully?

it was a fire example of corporate greed thinking it can use a successful franchise that finished to further its own greed
I was more focused on the Analyst I actually think it’s a positive that they put Neil Patrick Harris in a Matrix film like this 👍
In Matrix Reloaded, Neo is handed a 'gift from one of the orphans', in which he unwraps a metal spoon from a cloth. This was meant to remind him that there is no spoon. When Neo meets the architect, he is told it was the 'sixth time we have destroyed it', but there is no knowledge or evidence of this with the population of Zion. Later in the movie, when escaping the sentinels, Neo can 'feel them' and is able to stop them like he stops bullets in their path. Towards the end of Matrix Revolutions, Neo is blinded, but can see the energy of the Matrix, much like he was able to see the code in the first movie. This is all hinting that Neo is STILL in the Matrix, or more like a Matrix within the Matrix. Another system of control. All the hints are there. Matrix 4 should have been made with this premise.
Yes, as soon as I saw Neo stop the squids "irl" I thought of this. Also solves the too weird "need humans for fusion" stuff and the fact that humans can so easily pick of technology again after destroying Zion over and over. What if humans see through the Matrix? yes, build a Matrix around the Matrix. I have not watch Matrix 4 after I saw the reviews. Bit afraid to do so.

I like how Neo and Trinity got the happy ending they deserved. They died but in this story, they came in a rather realistic(they are partially robotic so it makes sense they could come back through being repaired and have their parts regenerated) way. It's like they were forced to make it and rammed it into the ground as hard as they could on purpose. I honestly don't know why they even bothered. And now they're making another? Give it up. Have mercy.
Mr. Anderson's huge delirium
The Analyst is one of the best yet funniest villains in The Matrix aside from Agent Smith.

Well, it's Neil Patrick Harris. It's expected, really.
He is terrible.
This movie is a meta commentary on the movie industry as a whole.
This movie is a commentary on shit movies whilst being a shit movie. Its moronic.
That doesn't excuse it being bad.
@@harold3165 facts
It was a cringe attempt at breaking the 4th wall :(
Well its more busy with that commentary than with quality
I'm not going to lie that shot of her flying in look pretty cool in the beginning
I Love that moment.
I refuse to watch any Matrix movie except the original. That was a complete masterpiece unto itself.
🤷🏻♂️Who would have guessed the movie's last shot would be Neo and Trinity flying skyward to the song, "Wake Up". The Novelty, I tell you!
The circle of hatred continues untill we react, we gotta take the power back.
Having now seen the ending I'm immensely grateful I didn't see the rest of the film.
Don't watch it. As someone who grew up on this and has seen the films, Animatrix and read the source material again and again.. Please don't watch it.
@@Waishwhw72i19sjx7 The comment section in here makes the movie sound amazing. That gives me real concern for the future. This ending is so fucking cheesy it doesn't allow for the possibility of a good film.
@@siberwolf33 why is it cheesy?
@@ImmortalDraylo Dude seriously? They're both flying after smacking around the architect. I think your cheesemeeter might be faulty.
@@siberwolf33 Neo has been flying since the first movie... He even takes on a "superman" pose in one of the films. Just now it appears cheesy to you? Who gives a shit, its a movie. Its within the movies set lore, because they are in a computer program, an imaginary world. Their basic functions as "the One" is to bend or create their own rules.
The only scene I have watched and I still cannot bring myself to watch it
Sometimes we have another chance and life gives us one
So many clever visuals in this film. The birds dancing in the sky as one represented that Neo wasn't the one with out his other half. He couldn't fly without something to fight for.
Which is stupid. Neo is the one. THE one. Having him completely rely on someone else for his powers the entire time only undermines Neos entire story and makes him out to be completely useless.

@@nikomiller how about you tell me why the matrix regurgitation is such a good movie? If your actually willing to talk instead of throwing childish insults, then I’ll actually have a discussion
@@jooyoungkang3858 wrong. Neo is an anomaly. The source code can be copied and manipulated. The ONE is a fairytale created by the machines. Did you watch the same saga?
@@vinceandcassie Exactly, in Reloaded Neo chooses not to reboot The Matrix and instead saves Trinity. It is their love that breaks the cycle. It's their kiss that bring Neo back in first film. @Jooyoung Kang needs to watch these movies again.
I didn’t hate this movie , would have made a million changes but I liked the themes and had some cool ideas as usual , I missed the green tint tho , didn’t feel like the matrix without it
So after this, will there be more
where did this ending come from?
I know it's opening up for more sequels but I like the ending here. It's a very Back to the Future "the future is what you make of it" moment and it's a good conclusion to the stories of the two mains. A number of Wachowski films are just reflections on where they are at the time. The first trilogy was darker, it was about them navigating a confusing new world both in the turn of the century and their own personal identities. Now we live that world and it's all corporate and sanitized. I do understand the desire to go want to be sentimental and colorful as a way to break out of it.
Today's world is even darker than the world we lived in 1998. Back then, there was hope. Now, there is none, and that is because corporations we didn't vote for or asked to represent us f*ck our daily lives until we are homeless and broke. Just look at every socialist country. It is a f*ing disaster. A tragedy! Crime is more rampant than ever!
Confirmed no more sequels. The movie flopped and Lady Wachowski meant for that to happen so Warner Bros couldn’t successfully do more without her.
@@Unpluggedx89 there was also suppose to be a series based in the matrix but it died when this this flopped.
It’s was a bloody horrible mess
@@Unpluggedx89 I hate to be that guy but all of their films since Matrix 1 flopped. There's no conspiracy here, something just didn't work with their films yet they keep figuring out how to get money from people to make films and shows. Kind of a W for them, ngl.
“Without change something sleeps inside us, and seldom awakens. The sleeper must awaken.” ― Frank Herbert, Dune
This movie was like those episodes of teen titans where they would remember previous events and shit. And you had to sit there rewatching old episode clips with like new content at the last minutes after the reminisce.
Did anyone notice that they both talk like the agents in Reloaded but more human
After this weeks budget I am absolutely certain I'm existing in the matrix

Just now noticed that that last little exchange between Neo and Trinity was an echo of the Smiths.
this scene kept making me laugh the way trinity was kicking the analys ass and causing no to shoot off smartass remarks was pretty humorous and fun to see.
They should have made a movie about the machine civil war. That would have been awesome.
Seriously.
They did animatrix
@@abyylev5501 I think the OP meant the civil war 'within' resurrections which showed what happened some time after the truce between Machines and the freed Humans
Compare this encounter with the ones that neo had in the past. Now they're just trying so hard to be badass, meanwhile the other ones neo are always chill and balanced.
Had the a friend that had the baller prediction to only ever see the first movie. Somethings are just best left alone.
