Dr Jordan B Peterson and Israel Prime Minister-Elect Benjamin Netanyahu discuss the history of Israel, its status as an embattled nation, the importance of the struggle for statehood, why and how the PM came back from political demise, and his vision for the future.
Benjamin Netanyahu was recently reelected as Prime Minister of Israel, having previously served in the office from 1996-1999 and 2009-2021. From 1967-1972 he served as a soldier and commander in Sayeret Matkal, an elite special forces unit of the Israeli Defense Forces. A graduate of MIT, he served as Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations from 1984-1988, before being elected to the Israeli parliament as a member of the Likud party in 1988. He has published five previous books on terrorism and Israel’s quest for peace and security. He lives in Jerusalem with his wife, Sara. In his newest book "Bibi: My Story" the newly reelected prime minister of Israel tells the story of his family, the story of his people, his path to leadership, and his unceasing commitment to defending his country and securing its future.

    • As a Christian, that's not a contradictory statement. Zionism just means you believe in a Jewish state for the Jewish people in their ancestoral land. You don't have to believe in God to come to a conclusion that the world has never tolerated Jewish people world and every country has done something hateful to them based on their status of being Jewish. So the logical option would be a Jewish state free from Jewish hate.

In Israel's favor, it should be noted that all its citizens, regardless of ethnicity, enjoy the same rights. Everyone has representation in both the Parliament and the Supreme Court. The other side in this conflict would not be able to provide anything for its people.

    • @Seth Kalifi Thanks for being open to the truth. I find it quite astonishing how many people have a strong opinion on this topic without having basic knowledge of history. And it's not even that difficult to educate oneself on the matter. The information is widely available. But then again, because I personally believe in the God of the Jews, I believe the battle of truth against ignorance to be of spiritual nature. Good versus bad, truth versus lies & deception, HaShem versus the devil. Have a blessed day/night and שלום to your spouse :)

    • There is no time limit in the definition of colonialism so the British will always be considered colonialists in Australia. And the Palestinians are no exception, the Arabs conquered Palestine by force in the seventh century and brought a different language, a different culture and a different genetics. The origin of Arab genetics, Arab culture, the Arabic language and the religion of Islam is in the Arabian Peninsula, therefore the Palestinians are not indigenous by definition. On the other hand, the Jews are considered native to the Levant (Palestine) according to the definition because the Hebrew language, the Jewish religion, and the genetic origin of 40% Jews in Israel originated in the Levant (Palestine). They did not come from outside, they were created in the Levant (Palestine). Hebrew is the only Canaanite language that survived. Most of the Jews in Israel Today they are not Europeans. Although historically European Jews founded Israel and were the majority in its early days. In addition, Jews lived in Palestine as a minority but continuously before the Arabs before Islam and Christianity. Jews are considered indigenous by definition because the origin of the Hebrew language, culture and religion of the Jews originates in the Levant. And the fact that the Arabs were the majority does not make them natives, they will always be colonialists like the British in Australia. Apart from Avraham The first Jewish were cananeite people on cananaite land, speaking cananenite language Hebrew. The Jewish bible been written in cananaite language. What remain from the cananaite its the jewish not the arabs!!! If the arabs didnt start the 1948 war there were no refugee in both side.!! Its biased to blame only israel for the refugee crises. The arabs start the 1948 war...! expelling 100% of the indigenous jewish community of Bethlehem and Jericho until today they dont permit the non european Jewish community to return to Bethlehem and Jericho..!!.!

    • Culturally, the only people who have established a land in Israel were Hebrew-speakers, and Judaists. In other words, the cultural ancestors of modern-day Israelites. Meanwhile the cultural ancestors of modern-day Palestinians originated in the Arabic Peninsula. The Ashkenazim have a lot of European DNA because that's what 2000 years of mixing with locals does. Meanwhile Palestinians have local DNA because, again, that's what 1300 years of mixing does. Doesn't change the fact that the Ashkenazim are the cultural descendants of the original Israelites, and that Palestinians are the cultural descendants of the original Arabians. Therefore the former belong in Israel, while the latter is the result of past expansionism by the caliphates.

    • Tuafiq Bey al-Khorani, the Syrian governor of the Horan, said in 1934 that "over 30,000 Syrians invaded Palestine in a few months." Winston Churchill said on 5/22/1939 that Arab immigration during the Mandate period was so great that "their number increased beyond any rate by which even the Jewry of the whole world could increase the number of Jews". Franklin Delano Roosevelt, President of the USA, said on 17. 5. 1939 that "the immigration of the Arabs to Palestine since 1921 has largely exceeded the immigration of the Jews in the entire recent period". In any case this influx of Arabs is evident in the surnames of the Arab families that live today in the land. In Arab culture the surname indicates your membership of a particular clan and its origin: El-masri >> originates from Egypt (masr) El-tachriti >> from tachrit in Iraq Halabi >> from Syria El-lubnani >> from Lebanon El-hijazin>> from the hijaz in Saudi Arabia El Kurd >> from kurdistan El Hurani >> from Huran in Syria There are dozens more. I’ll send you the complete list if you’re interested. .

There is no mention of the UN creating the state of Israel, there is no mention of the immigration of Jews from Europe, there is no mention of the taking of land from Palestinians--door by door and house by house, nor is there mention of South African style tactics to isolate and control Palestinian settlements. It is as if wishing to return to their historical land justifies everything. I am not sold on this idea, and I don't think others should be sold on it either.

If the American Indians are strong enough to take the land back, then YES they can come out of their shelters and claim the land and Netanyahu even acknowledges that this happens in history all the time.

The arabs start the 1948 war...! expelling 100% of the indigenous jewish community of Bethlehem and Jericho until today they dont permit the non european Jewish community to return to Bethlehem and Jericho..!!

The Palestinians were there the entire time they were in Egypt, while they conquered the land, while they were in exile in Europe and they were still there upon their return. Secondly, God promised them the land as long as they kept the Covenant. Upon breaking the covenant, they were to be expelled from the land and not to return until their Messiah arrived. This is the reason Orthodox Jews stand against the state of Israel. Third, the claim for the land came from God and was tied to obeying the covenant. Over 70% of Jews identify as secular, which is another violation of the covenant, so if they don't believe in God, whats their claim to the land? The Isrealis for decades have done monstrous things to the Palestinians and they have created a monster(Hamas) and now the want us to condemn them. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous.

(Most of the residents of Jordan are Palestinians, there are more Palestinians in Jordan than anywhere else in the world). 4. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict concerns the division of the remaining 26% of Palestine. 5. In 1948 the UN decided to divide the remaining 26% into two countries of equal area. 13% for Israel and 13% for the Palestinians. 6. Israel agreed to the UN partition in 1948, the Palestinians, the Egyptians, the Syrians, the Jordanians, each opposed for their own reasons. 7. The Palestinians were not expelled from their homes before the Nakba, which took place after the 1948 war had already started. 8. The Arab coalition started the war in 1948 by ethnically cleansing 100% of the Jewish community of Bethlehem, Jericho, Hebron and East Jerusalem. 9. As a result of the war: Approximately 700,000 Palestinians were deported, most of them to the West Bank and Gaza. And approximately 850 thousand Jews were expelled from the West Bank, Syria, Egypt and most Arab countries. 10. After the war in 1948, Jordan and Egypt, who did not recognize the Palestinians at that time, stole the Palestinian territory designated for the Palestinian state under the agreement in 1948. Egypt stole Gaza which at the time was much larger and included Ashkelon and beyond. And Jordan stole the entire West Bank including East Jerusalem. 11. Between 1948 - 1967 the Jordanians and Egyptians refuse to recognize the existence of a Palestinian people and refuse to give them the land to establish a Palestinian state. 12. In 1964, the Palestine Liberation Movement was established and recognized the West Bank as territory of the Kingdom of Jordan. 13. In 1967 during the Six Day War Israel captured the West Bank from Jordan and Gaza from Egypt. 14. In 1967, Israel agrees to the UN partition and offers the Palestinians 100% of the West Bank and Gaza, including the Western Wall. (At that time there were no settlers or even Jews, because the Jews were expelled from the West Bank in 1948) 15. The Front for the Liberation of Palestine and the Arab League gathered in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, and decided not to accept the offer because accepting the territory from Israel required recognition of Israel and the signing of a peace agreement with Israel. 16. If Israel had lost the war in 1948, there would not have been a Palestinian state because Jordan, Egypt, and Syria recognized Palestine as a territory that historically belonged to them. 17. If Israel had not occupied the West Bank in 67 from Jordan, it would have remained Jordanian territory. 18. If Israel had not conquered Gaza in 1967, it would have remained Egyptian territory. 19. Paradoxically, it was precisely the Israeli occupation that reopened the discourse on a Palestinian state. A discourse that did not take place between 1948-1967 under the Jordanian Egyptian occupation.

Those lands were paid for at the time. the owners were sitting abroad. and people working on these lands were poor and left alone after the sale. to these day young people claiming to be refugees get money from NGO to...stay outside the country and whine?! you can't get the fruits of only 60 years of hard work of someone else. Egypt and Jordan kicked and fight to this day to keep the people of Gaza and west bank out of their own land. almost every day and every year and in total numbers, Arabs kill more Arabs than Israel ever did in legitimate wars. In the UN vote the land was to be split to 2, for them and for Israel. they said no, they need to die. Israel defended. and kicked the ass then and ever from then till now. the lies being spread online hit a wall. this is a global test, and the results are in: when a nation is being terrorized non stop from within in, aboard and from neighboring nation, it will react in force, and will not care what the world will say about it. because the world don't care about the daily terror. want peace? get peace. they don't want peace? they don't get it. why they do get? Israel is having a parasite on it's back. money, gas, oil, power, water, sewage, and guns! from Israel, to Gaza and west bank. If all the world now hates Israel and care for the other side, why do they not just one side declare a country? this is the most lover they ever got. support from aboard. why? they wanna keep the love and the leeching? I wish they would just do it. and I hope Israel cut all the ropes of infrastructure now. those leeches need to mind building their own country and stop killing and leeching of another country.

Netanyahu’s justification essentially reduces down to “finders keepers.” “They weren’t using the land.” So…. how is that not similar to squatting on someone else’s property? So if we squat long enough, we should become the owners.

If Israel has a right to exist and defend its borders and people in an explicitly Nationalist framework, then so too must Ireland, the Irish and every other people. • The proclamation of the Irish republic was explicitly written on behalf of Irishmen and Irishwomen, and claimed the "allegiance" of all of them. Ireland separated itself politically from Britain in order to have political self-determination in an Irish-majority polity. It pursued a decades-long policy of Gaelicization, including government support for the Irish language and a ban on divorce, which among other policies helped prompt an exodus of Protestants. The Irish constitution became secular only in 1972 (by the vote of the Irish people themselves, not because anyone took Irish rights away), and there is still strong church influence over primary school education. Sounds pretty similar to Israel to me, except that people all over the world don't keep calling for the destruction of Ireland.

It is the main factor that creates wars. It combines with fear of wealthy people of the possibility of their wealth and power decreasing. *Prof. Jordan Peterson, please do investigate this phenomena and let us know of what you think and of ideas how to tackle those problems!*

    • There is no time limit in the definition of colonialism so the British will always be considered colonialists in Australia. And the Palestinians are no exception. the Arabs conquered Palestine by force in the seventh century and brought a different language, a different culture and a different genetics. Today most of the Jews in Israel are not Europeans. Although historically European Jews founded Israel and were the majority in its early days. In addition, Jews lived in Palestine as a minority but continuously before the Arabs before Islam and Christianity. The arabs start the 1948 war...! expelling 100% of the indigenous jewish community of Bethlehem and Jericho until today they dont permit the non european Jewish community to return to Bethlehem and Jericho..!!..!!...
