Whats always amazed me about bf4 is the weapon balancing, basically every weapon was a completely viable option and it was great compared to the meta handful of guns that modern shooters have

Yes and no; while I agree that pretty much everything is viable there are definitely stand-outs e.g. AEK or most of the DMRs. All weapons are viable in at least some situations but some are just potentially more effective in all situations. BF4 gunplay is really good though, still feels great in 2022.

That is because the balancing wasn't being monetized like it is in modern shooters. The balancing/meta in for example Warzone is completely artificial; based on what guns they release skins for. A few guns suddenly are very good, and magically shortly after that they offer skin bundles for them.

Spent so many hours in this back in middle school. When the game was in its height in popularity and new content dropped I remember downloading the DLC and completing the challenges to get the rare stuff, staying up all night on coms with my friends grinding out this game was damn fun. I miss that.

I love this game. I was a diehard CoD fan back then in the PS3 era but after getting BF4 after it got fixed + all DLCs it was just so much fun. Got it again for ps4 and now playing on ps5. Honestly the DLCs Maps are some of the best ever made. I have always so much fun playing them.

This was the formula, all they needed to do was duplicate this game with updated graphics, new maps, new weapons, far from broken, nothing needed to be fixed. BF2042 is making a come back, thank god, but this was the formula. Cheers Jack!

tbh, i'd much rather have them developers improve on just one game, bring constant updates like just more and more maps, weapons, game modes, sometimes maybe even bigger updates with better graphics, animations, game features or player sizes. building upon a good game that a lot of people love and enjoy already makes people much more investet (even monetarily) in the game and draws more players in general i believe.

bf4 is the greatest battlefield in history. yes even with the way it launched. the DLCs were amazing, the guns were amazing. everything about this game from customization the vehicle playability was the best it could and will ever be in battlefield without making it more realistic or milisim style shooter.

I personally thought BF3 was better. When BF4 first launched the gunplay/UI felt very arcade-like in a way that was a weird step away from BF3. It's hard to explain. I do miss a lot of the BF3 maps but I'm glad theres stuff like Caspian in BF4.

I used to be a die hard COD guy but after Battlefield, I tried to go back just for fun. It's like going from Xbox shooters to Nintendo shooters or something. It felt like a game. Battlefield felt like an experience. I love that feeling when you're just locked in as a sniper and you know the exact distance to fire above the heads of distant targets to account for the bullet drop at distance. So you snap off like three headshots in a row. Or you time an RPG just right and kill like three dudes in a helicopter. No feeling from COD can match that dopamine rush and illusion of actual accomplishment.

BF4 was a great game, player count isnt really there anymore just a hand full of servers left. The way to find out true server player count is to use better battle log browser extension (enable true player count script in settings) if anyone is still looking.

@@Locutus494 that's how it works in every game that has it. Any projectile moving through the open air will be targeted by APS. That's how APS is supposed to work. It detects objects and shoots them before they can hit the target.

I bought BF2042 on discount on steam, played for 28 hours and leveled up to like lvl 26 but I was just not enjoying It. I uninstalled it and just went back to playing BF4 instead.

Maybe to see if it gets more enjoyable later on when you level up? I don't know, but buying battlefield 2042 does not seem like a good idea. Even despite this game is getting fixed it's still far from being as good as some other battlefield games.

Honestly if DICE pulls their fingers further out and carry on doing so, and keep up with how they’ve done this season. BF2042 might stand a chance of doing what BF4 did and becoming LOVED. I really hope so anyway, I’m having a blast with it now

I just got it for half price. Me and my buddy decided on it after doing research. Seems like the game is at a decent state now, new map looks really good, and I’m sure it’s enough content for 30 bucks. Looking forward to trying it out tonight

BF4 was the last BF that 'FELT' like a battlefield game. I just haven't felt that 'magic' since BF4. Even when BF4 was broken, it still reminded me of previous titles. Just an opinion of course, I'm just one guy on the internet.

Golmund is epic! It has a bit of everything ! Great for vehicle battles or air and has the whole a, b, c section that’s more for close quarters as it’s a small town type thing ! That’s why there’s a lot of 24/7 servers for it ! Tis a versatile map!

Bf4 locker is always dam good , I always used the medkit class , and revived people , the sks was what I was decent with on most maps tho , the shoguns on this map were OP at times but who didnt love that lol , Shanghai was were I went ham tho , this game is just beautiful

It used to do that thing all the time! Where it lies about how many players are in a server. You're right, super frustrating. I remember that.
BF3 and BF4 are both timeless classics that will be hard to surpass. So many great memories with friends with both those games

Whats always amazed me about bf4 is the weapon balancing, basically every weapon was a completely viable option and it was great compared to the meta handful of guns that modern shooters have
Yes and no; while I agree that pretty much everything is viable there are definitely stand-outs e.g. AEK or most of the DMRs. All weapons are viable in at least some situations but some are just potentially more effective in all situations. BF4 gunplay is really good though, still feels great in 2022.

That is because the balancing wasn't being monetized like it is in modern shooters. The balancing/meta in for example Warzone is completely artificial; based on what guns they release skins for. A few guns suddenly are very good, and magically shortly after that they offer skin bundles for them.

Spent so many hours in this back in middle school. When the game was in its height in popularity and new content dropped I remember downloading the DLC and completing the challenges to get the rare stuff, staying up all night on coms with my friends grinding out this game was damn fun. I miss that.

i miss the nights on xbox 1 with the mates just having a blast on battlefield among many other games except cod, never was a fan its so unfortunate that now when i try to play battlefield 1 on pc, i just get a weird aversion to it, i just dont want to play battlefield which is really weird... maybe the 500 hours on war thunder changed my style of play

Hopped on Bf4 last night, played a game of hardcore. Entire squad had comms and it was a blast even though we lost! Wild how it's hard to have an experience like that on new titles
Hardcore is by far my favorite bf4 mode. Sometimes I just can't be bothered to play squad, and I just need some tacticade gameplay. Hardcore is exactly that

You get 3000 points at the end of the game for the 'Conquest Victory Ribbon' that is given to everyone on the winning team. The players below you were balance swapped from the enemy team and had less than 3000 points the entire game.

I love this game. I was a diehard CoD fan back then in the PS3 era but after getting BF4 after it got fixed + all DLCs it was just so much fun. Got it again for ps4 and now playing on ps5. Honestly the DLCs Maps are some of the best ever made. I have always so much fun playing them.

This was the formula, all they needed to do was duplicate this game with updated graphics, new maps, new weapons, far from broken, nothing needed to be fixed. BF2042 is making a come back, thank god, but this was the formula. Cheers Jack!

tbh, i'd much rather have them developers improve on just one game, bring constant updates like just more and more maps, weapons, game modes, sometimes maybe even bigger updates with better graphics, animations, game features or player sizes. building upon a good game that a lot of people love and enjoy already makes people much more investet (even monetarily) in the game and draws more players in general i believe.

bf4 is the greatest battlefield in history. yes even with the way it launched. the DLCs were amazing, the guns were amazing. everything about this game from customization the vehicle playability was the best it could and will ever be in battlefield without making it more realistic or milisim style shooter.
I feel ya…the maps are just kinda bland tho. I was into it a lot in 2020 and 2021. But the maps are hard to continue to play.

I personally thought BF3 was better. When BF4 first launched the gunplay/UI felt very arcade-like in a way that was a weird step away from BF3. It's hard to explain. I do miss a lot of the BF3 maps but I'm glad theres stuff like Caspian in BF4.
You have to join the full servers with people on the queue (64/64[2])! It's the only way to make sure you get into a full server
I used to be a die hard COD guy but after Battlefield, I tried to go back just for fun. It's like going from Xbox shooters to Nintendo shooters or something. It felt like a game. Battlefield felt like an experience. I love that feeling when you're just locked in as a sniper and you know the exact distance to fire above the heads of distant targets to account for the bullet drop at distance. So you snap off like three headshots in a row. Or you time an RPG just right and kill like three dudes in a helicopter. No feeling from COD can match that dopamine rush and illusion of actual accomplishment.
Less kids on bf4. Duty was too easy.

BF4 was a great game, player count isnt really there anymore just a hand full of servers left. The way to find out true server player count is to use better battle log browser extension (enable true player count script in settings) if anyone is still looking.

There are still plenty of live servers available on PS4. Never need to search for one since there are dozens.

Dude Golmud Railway is like bf4 version of firestorm. Everyone loves it because the map is pretty simple and straightforward conquest map that's why it's so pupular
Still jamming BF4 even though I get only high ping games and still great to play. Compared to WZ the sound effects of helicopters and plenty vehicles just makes it such a special game.

Me and my buds have been playing hardcore on PS4 for the last 18 months after an ongoing kerfuffle with insurgency and this game still holds up so well after all this time. Really hope dice return to form with this franchise because the potential has been sorely wasted for the last few games.

@@Locutus494 that's how it works in every game that has it. Any projectile moving through the open air will be targeted by APS. That's how APS is supposed to work. It detects objects and shoots them before they can hit the target.

i still use the browser server to join , when you click the player count it adjusts to actual count or visit the page and see for real what the count is
