Man the Martini pre-patch was some of the most fun I’ve ever had on a shooter. It’s like they just sat down and thought let’s make the player feel like an absolute boss. They never should have changed it I don’t remember anyone actually saying it was overpowered.

You literally couldn’t have highlighted a worse ‘era’ of games if you tried lmao 2014-2017 was the worst 3 years for gaming Terrible console generation (ps4 and xbone) Terrible loot box micro transaction hellholes like Star Wars battlefront, fallout 4, fallout 76, fifa, gta online etc Even this game was not well liked on launch, it was a massive downgrade from bf3 (bf4 is just bf3 DLC) in a lot of ways. It’s the best of the new bf games (hardline-2042) though. You were probably a kid so you thought it was great. But no. Terrible. Terrible era of gaming. 08-13 was the best for modern gaming tbh Saints row 2, gta 4, rdr, Batman Arkhams, tlou, bc2 bf3, fifa 12, mw2, gta 5, bioshock, etc etc PS2 and 360 were the goated consoles. I still play oblivion on my 360 and play ps2 games like shadow of the colossus, jak and daxter, Ratchet and clank, simpsons hit and run, bully etc

Still relevant after 6 years! Operations mode is so unbelievably immersive. I love the intro where you get the perspective of the soldier from the faction you're assigned to. You also get a history lesson at the end of the rounds which is also pretty cool. Such an awesome game.

i think they will never recreate the level of BF1 detail, because this game benefits from DICE team enthusiasm about making the star wars game, and borrowed a lot from the photogrammetry stuff they did on these unique places for SW. DICE team leftovers have no such enthusiasm about anything these days.

I've had some of the most intense gaming experiences ever playing this. I would narrowly escape a tank charge, only to wander into an open field with snipers watching where I had to move quickly from cover to cover and end up in a random building where suddenly both sides clash right in the middle of you. In my humble opinion, the thing I believe this game mastered above almost all other shooters Is how fantastic the weapons feel. Some shooters just have weapon skins that do animations and that's it. BF1 man, weapons looked heavy and sounded so damn good. They got dirty, they didn't over clank around, and even rounds fired had this realism to it. Great game

The environment design in BF1 was magic, the 3d scanned environments, the audio... such an atmospheric beauty of a game. It was so ahead of the time because I see UE5 demos like "The Invincible" trailer and it makes me think of BF1, a game 6-7 years its junior, baked in bounce-light, damn gorgeous!

I've started playing this game again after not touching it for years, it's still one of my favorite shooters. The satisfaction of destroying a tank with grenades or hip firing an LMG while running through gas clouds and getting kills just following the hit makers is unreal.

Oh man this game made so fun memories, so much joy to play. There were some annoying parts of the game, but it was so pretty, fun to play and the immersion was immense, that I think it lived up to its hype and expectations. Unpopular opinion but i found it more enjoyable than BF4.

The sniping in this is so unbelievably satisfying aswell. The sound of a head shot on a running target in the distance gives such a rush of dopamine. Especially when you're killing them without missing and it keeps going and going. God this game was so good

This is still my favorite game ❤️❤️ loved the whole atmosphere of it. The beauty of the game and graphics. I remember my first match I couldn't even move because I was so in aw of the graphics. Also just shoot the flare into the sky it works like that on console. Well for me it does. I just shoot em into the air in a certain area

Personally The immersion aspect in this game is sick ! At times I play maps just to look at the animations one I like is the canon animation in Soissons and Caporetto 🐵🥹 Taking down bombers Etc

By far the most fun I’ve had in a battlefield since BF4. The sounds, atmosphere, and sheer fun I had with friends will always make me love the game. 2042 should take notes.

insurgency has better sound design in my opinion, but as far as immersion goes, bf1 will never be trumped

I still play bf4, actually bought bf1 on steam sales. Gonna try it later. Bf42 beta was so whack i never even thought of buying that game.
The progression system was entirely fucked though. Completely game breaking for someone like myself that doesn't grind 12 hours per day for in game currency.

Man the Martini pre-patch was some of the most fun I’ve ever had on a shooter. It’s like they just sat down and thought let’s make the player feel like an absolute boss. They never should have changed it I don’t remember anyone actually saying it was overpowered.
Servers are totally packed so you can easily hop on whatever gamemode you want right now

This game is truly a work of art. It embodies the golden age of modern gaming, from 2010-2017 roughly, where so many beautiful, well polished, well thought out games released.
You literally couldn’t have highlighted a worse ‘era’ of games if you tried lmao 2014-2017 was the worst 3 years for gaming Terrible console generation (ps4 and xbone) Terrible loot box micro transaction hellholes like Star Wars battlefront, fallout 4, fallout 76, fifa, gta online etc Even this game was not well liked on launch, it was a massive downgrade from bf3 (bf4 is just bf3 DLC) in a lot of ways. It’s the best of the new bf games (hardline-2042) though. You were probably a kid so you thought it was great. But no. Terrible. Terrible era of gaming. 08-13 was the best for modern gaming tbh Saints row 2, gta 4, rdr, Batman Arkhams, tlou, bc2 bf3, fifa 12, mw2, gta 5, bioshock, etc etc PS2 and 360 were the goated consoles. I still play oblivion on my 360 and play ps2 games like shadow of the colossus, jak and daxter, Ratchet and clank, simpsons hit and run, bully etc

Still relevant after 6 years! Operations mode is so unbelievably immersive. I love the intro where you get the perspective of the soldier from the faction you're assigned to. You also get a history lesson at the end of the rounds which is also pretty cool. Such an awesome game.

Nah. BF1 is certainly the best of the last few but the last 'truly great' battlefield was BF4.

BF 2042 is so lifeless... The big maps miss real vegetation, signs of war and elements of uniqueness
i think they will never recreate the level of BF1 detail, because this game benefits from DICE team enthusiasm about making the star wars game, and borrowed a lot from the photogrammetry stuff they did on these unique places for SW. DICE team leftovers have no such enthusiasm about anything these days.

As a man born in 1981 who has been gaming since the late 80s, it is beyond the crowd as the best fps game.
I'm in the same boat. I love first person shooters and I've been playing them for 15 years, but BF1 is my absolute favourite despite it not being "authentic WWI'. It's unreal.

I've had some of the most intense gaming experiences ever playing this. I would narrowly escape a tank charge, only to wander into an open field with snipers watching where I had to move quickly from cover to cover and end up in a random building where suddenly both sides clash right in the middle of you. Top 3 BF games ever, easily

In my humble opinion, the thing I believe this game mastered above almost all other shooters Is how fantastic the weapons feel. Some shooters just have weapon skins that do animations and that's it. BF1 man, weapons looked heavy and sounded so damn good. They got dirty, they didn't over clank around, and even rounds fired had this realism to it. Great game

@@henrikselle1627 Tbf that's almost every BF title now. 4's Sniping had bullets that were 2 feet long and 4 inches wide while flying through the air as well (sometime ago) Pretty funny cause half the time It looked like tank shells were flying out of your rifle with how big the tracers were.

The environment design in BF1 was magic, the 3d scanned environments, the audio... such an atmospheric beauty of a game. It was so ahead of the time because I see UE5 demos like "The Invincible" trailer and it makes me think of BF1, a game 6-7 years its junior, baked in bounce-light, damn gorgeous!
BF1 and BF3 are my favorites. I'll never understand how they didn't evolve after BF1.

I've started playing this game again after not touching it for years, it's still one of my favorite shooters. The satisfaction of destroying a tank with grenades or hip firing an LMG while running through gas clouds and getting kills just following the hit makers is unreal.
I love that even after this long, whenever I get the itch to play this game there is still a pretty thriving online community. Speaking of.. time to get to scratching! Thanks for this video and the awesome clips, gameplay, and commentary!
Oh man this game made so fun memories, so much joy to play. There were some annoying parts of the game, but it was so pretty, fun to play and the immersion was immense, that I think it lived up to its hype and expectations. Unpopular opinion but i found it more enjoyable than BF4.

It was better than BF4, which was just a rehash of BF3 but worse. I'd rather play BC2 or BF3 than BF4. I don't get the love Bf4 gets, honestly.

Being a BF vet and having been max rank on every game in the franchise over the years, BF1 has got to be the most memorable experience I had.. so many great memories surround this title and I don't regret one minute of playing it. Such an incredibly beautiful and fun FPS.

I recently started playing bf1 again and found out that it gives me the most fun of all battlefields. It still looks amazing and the gameplay is just perfect. Its so fun if you are playing in a squad with real teamplay.

Hourglass has higher fidelity textures it’s just lacking less detail around cause it’s a bigger map

The sniping in this is so unbelievably satisfying aswell. The sound of a head shot on a running target in the distance gives such a rush of dopamine. Especially when you're killing them without missing and it keeps going and going. God this game was so good
I remember the first time i play it on ps4, even on that hardware my jaw was on the ground. I literally couldn't believe how they managed to make it look this good. On this day, bf1 still amazes me.

One of the Best Multiplayer games which i have played in my whole life. Good to see that you have taken this classic out Jack and made a great video, with good Sniping gameplay. I'll remember, that before Warzone came out, i have played almost every night, because it have a fantastic atmosphere-gameplay duo. Bf1 was truly breathtaking I still remember when it just came out. I was in 9th grade and i would watch tons and tons of gameplay videos of it in 4K because it looked so beautiful

Definitely one of the best, it came out at just the right time, and for me brought more interest into a war that has always been stereotyped as just mud/rats/trenches…. Which is true, but there was so much more to it. Came out during the centennial of the war too. So iconic.
