Personally despise DICE’s reasoning for giving all class access to all weapons, remove role and identity from all the class. Also as a defensive player the support was a beast in this game, say it’s weak when some guns can mow down a team.

This is by far my favourite Battlefield title, I have bought the game on release in 2016 (then the premium upgrade grr) and I played well over 500 hours. The complete production puts it way above any BF out there for me, the gunplay is fantasatic, the kill confirmed sound will get your dopamine flying over the roof when you hit a sick shot, the behemoth system makes the game feel incredibly tense at the end, the audio quques are just a piece of art, the music will blow your mind, the amount of weapons is staggering, the amount of melee weapon is unreal, the vehicles have piss armor, "easy" sniper kills on airplanes, the graphics are on God mode, and the most important thing for me, the maps are probably the best online multiplayer maps ever crafted for any videogame in history, they are trully something to behold, I was gutted that they've split the community through a paywall with the maps. (the amount of maps in this game is collosal btw) If you haven't tried this game for whatever reason, you have missed out on probably one of the finest hour in gaming history!

I just cant get over how the game is themed after WW1 but most people seem to have.... assault rifles and there are modern, turreted tanks rolling around everywhere that look like they are from the late 20s at least... What is the point of theming it after WW1 other than aesthetics? I mean it is fine if it is just for aesthetics, it just seems the core gunplay/combat looks exactly the same as any other battlefield game here and I wish they themed this game after something else that didn't suggest on the tin that the gunplay would be wayyy different than normal for battlefield.

Jack never seems happier than when he is playing BF1. it is contagious.
It's been 7 years, I will never get sick of watching Jack play this game
I know I just redownloaded battlefield 5 now I'm thinking I'l download this again too it was amazing
I'm so glad BF1 servers are still populated. This game is EPIC! So many cinematic moments on a regular basis and it's fun. 7 years old and miles ahead of BF2042 in atmosphere, gameplay and that iconic Battlefield feel.
European servers were mostly dead the last time I checked and it wasn't even a long ago
@afonsovaladeiro8944 there's loads of German servers on a regular basis.
and militant nations of Asia are still poppin (Nam and Japan)@@davidgb291
I feel same on BF5 I love these two Bf titles the most.
@@davidgb291 Yeah the ammount if German servers is CRAZY
Operations mode had the history, the drama, the stakes put before you and the music & cinema ramped up as the conflict unfolded what you were fighting for it was a rare gem for anyone who wanted some history while they played, Thanks Jack for highlight BF 1 , would love to see an Operations game in the future :)
i miss that gamemode, ive been trying to play bf1 again but i cant find a single lobby for operations, i can barely find any real people in official servers
@@nikkybearreally? Are you using server browser with the right filters? I have no issue finding 5+ servers on PS
@@rapkat5667 yeah, same here in EU, at least 5-7 64/64 operations only servers on PS5 and some conquest ones.
I will never understood how Dice looked at how well received and like operations was and completely changed it and then nixed it. It was perfect.
Battlefield 1 was made for Operations. the only mode i play at this point. the 'throwing bodies on the objective to capture an area' ...ahhh. the insanity.
Battlefield 1 is peak battlefield for me. Its the game I've played the most and the one I still play almost daily. Thank you for revisiting this legendary game.
For me as well. I know BF purists weren't fans of it but I can still play this game today and have more fun than any other battlefield.
@@johnpajestka5022 ya it alway feels weird how violent bf4 people get about bf1, I know that visual recoil made the weapons seem like they had bad spreed but I honestly felt weapons had more identity and gives each class identity. Personally despise DICE’s reasoning for giving all class access to all weapons, remove role and identity from all the class. Also as a defensive player the support was a beast in this game, say it’s weak when some guns can mow down a team.
Yup, it's the best Battlefield since Hardline and Bf4. I tried playing BfV the other day and it just made me miss BF1 because the maps are TOO DAMN BIG in BFV. The maps in BF1 keep the action more concentrated and it just feels more epic.
@@raptonsoul2557 If it didnt have that stupid random bullet deviation and suppression it would have been 10x better. Still one of the best BF games for sure.
What u thi k of bf v?
Look at this game! 7 years old and it still looks better than alot of games today.
Looks better then 2042
@@alpha_dog758 Artistic and lighting wise yes, but 2042 have better polygon count/textures.
@@havalkanalismi4045for sure 2042 on PC actually looks great just the art is very underwhelming it looks very sterile. BF1 has grit and character.
@@angryjoe98 Could be because they were a different setting, WW1 was notoriously "gritty"

EVERY SINGLE TIME you play BF1, I just am in awe of how good it was and still is. I want to go back and play it!
Then do it
the game is experiencing a jump in players rn.
Why not do it then?
Haha I appreciate all the encouragement lads!! But unfortunately, I have been too busy with finals in grad school. I simply don't have the free time I used to 🥲
@@DoomsDay117x pfff lame excuse, WINTER'S COMIN. jump back in :) servers are full. Operations servers have plenty of people
Play it more often Jack. It is, in my opinion, the one of the best BF games. Had so much fun with it
Still one of my all-time favorites! I think nothing comes close to the atmosphere and the scale of it. It ages like fine wine!
It's crazy how it really doesn't feel dated unlike Xbox 360 games which felt dated pretty quickly.

Same games like Rage still hold up but yeah@@nagoogle8542
Simply THE best, I agree!!!

This game at launch was some of the most fun I have ever had in gaming period man... good times.
It was REALLY GOOD, if only it had some more meat on the bones on day 1 in terms of progression it would have been perfect. Still was an incredible game
Even the beta was way too much fun
Yessssss
game is still contains healthy playerbase and admin moderated servers which bans the hackers. jump back to it man, still hella ton fun.
@@MuscledRMH game is still contains healthy playerbase and admin moderated servers which bans the hackers. jump back to it man, still hella ton fun.
BF1's immersion is amazing. A huge, HUGE part of it is how lovingly they animated all the guns and equipment you use. Like the Springfield semi auto attachment where it takes you 30 seconds to swap out the barrel.
I feel like this was the last BF game that had real quality to the build. Wasn't a huge fan of the gun play but they nailed the feel in this game. Imagine if BF5 would have had the same quality
Why DICE didnt just copy this formula into Battlefield 5 (Should of been called Battlefield II)... such a weird needless decision to stray from the winning formula.. lets not speak about 2042.
I wish theyd do another modern battlefield with this type of cinematic, visceral feel. This is one of the best BF games hands down.
They won’t, all the good devs have left dice and even if they did tards like Enders and “competitive” battlefield players would complain about visual recoil and other stupid crap till you end up with a game like mw3 zero immersion, weapons feel like airsoft guns just plain BORING and LIFELESS
@@user-dk5oz5es5t We have Embark the next closest thing. Let's hope they venture in to single player as well.
Bf1 should've been a continuation of bf4, prove me wrong. Not sure why everyone had a historical fetish back then tbh
@@firstnamelastname1640 WW1 setting or not, it was cinematic and immersive as fuk. It can make even casual players focus deeply on the game. Sure there are some gameplay features that mess up the game but otherwise I'd play this even when I'm not on PC.

13:32 Havent heard Jack so happy to play a BF game in a long time. This is still BF pinnacle to me and the game I've played the most (and still play regularly)
The music was so good in this game. Still probably my favorite Multiplayer game out of all of them. It was so immersive and dirty feeling yet beautiful. Kinda want to jump back in and play again.
Bf 1 is my all time best gaming expirience, it really makes u feel like u r in a movie. really well designed game
This game is just incredible. The atmosphere makes it so immersive. The music. The team pushing points. The train, dreadnought, the blimp. Work of art.
Getting a kill was so satisfying. Those little oblong shaped tanks did some absolute damage too.
I just played an Operation last night and man it's so satisfying, intense, and just downright fun. You just feel the immersion and that what you're doing matters.
Imo this is one of the greatest multiplayer games of all time. Operations felt like you were living a moment in history. Truly one of my best multiplayer experiences ever and I was so happy to find out it’s still alive on Xbox I been playing it a good bit.
This game is the exact reason I subbed to Jack back in 2017.
I found this channel when bf1 came out and maaaan I probs watched every single vid that came out lmfao, so many memories. Love u jack
Omg I forgot about the operations!
Always a good day when Jack plays BF1
true. so true
BF3, BF4 and this game were the peak of my gaming online with friends. This game was hands down the most cinematic and atmospheric game I ever played. Absolute perfection. Jack, you could upload BF1 vids once a week and I'd watch every single time. Been a fan of the channel for a very long time and always appreciate your videos even though I don't play video games anymore.
Why don't you play anymore?
Hardline was dope too
@@silent.airsoftmeh it was okay. Could’ve done better with the graphics but the concept of cops n robbers was great. Vehicles are like driving a shoe box though
Great video as always this is definitely one of my favorite games of all time love seeing you come back to it
To hear jack laughing and messing about brings a smile to my face, thankyou.
Still playing this .. its just amazing, you can feel the love, respect and dedication this game had. Hope more people comes back because iis really worth it
still one of my favourites fps of all time, the atmosphere its just INSANE.
@@tylerbrown9797Bro at least the game was fun unlike the next 2 cod/fortnite mashups that dice made...
theres not assault rifle, zoomer , its all submachine guns. and turretts exists for a long time way before your dad even born, also the gun play and combat is very different than bf5 and 2042, in this game run n gun like recent bf will punish you. its tactical and pretty campy, but thats whats realistic about it, this aint cod, this aint 2042. its very accurate compared to insurgency, cod, and 2042, tyler@@tylerbrown9797
@@tylerbrown9797what did you mean by modern turreted tanks? Because the only tank that I can Imagine is the Behemoth “super heavy tank” and the game admits that it’s just a prototype (together with most other things in the game)
WW1 games aren't really made because the lack of guns etc, but what DICE did with BF1 was basically make an alternative universe WW1 - It was never supposed to be a 1 for 1 copy of the true WW1. But they nailed the gritty feel of those times with the guns etc.@@tylerbrown9797
Hands down the best Battlefield game. It’s amazing how this game stands the tests of time. We need a spiritual sequel for WW2 (BFV didn’t make that cut). The ambience, music, visuals, map details, and gameplay are incredible. The fun factor is paramount, and the gameplay isn’t over-complicated. The inclusions of the soldier commentary with the maps makes the history feel present.
I’m so glad you’ve made this video, me and some friends have recently picked the game back up again and honestly I wish this game had more players

It’s an absolute masterpiece. Last of its kind, love and passion clearly at work in this game!
This game is always in my heart! What a atmosphere, surely the best and for a 7 year old game the graphics still hold on.
Thanks for the last minute of the video, I needed that jack, thanks man
Your videos on BF1 are always good man…I can tell you’re having fun, and that makes it more entertaining. I’ll always like these videos.
I think it'll be a while before a game like BF 1 is ever replicated. Everything about it was great, the gameplay, the intensity, the level design, and the visuals.
Ah such a fantastic game! So amazing!!! I miss it so much! The feel, the horses, vehicles, and the behemoths. Absolutely AMAZING
Awesome video Jack I really wish I played this game more, none of the modern battlefield releases match the cinematic beauty and chaos of this game. It feels like playing a movie but its still intense and has it's scary moments that make it feel more realistic than it is, and those shots by the ocean when the storm first started moving in. Just incredible, it puts so many modern games to shame even with it's age
love your videos man! makes me nostalgic of being a kid a few years ago when lets players like jacksepticeye were huge.
The game that got me into gaming, met tons of great online friends and introduced me to your channel. Still my favorite fps of all time.
Please play the operations again I feel like that gamemode was seriously under appreciated given the fact that they narrated it beautifully every round
Operations is hardly under-appreciated these days actually. Anytime I go into the server browser it feels like there’s 10 Operations servers and only like 2 that actually have Conquest or whatever lmao.
@@burgbassReally? I think mine doesnt seem to show that much of operations servers due to the region that I’m currently in. Just many Japanese servers playing conquest 😂

That peace keeper kill with the flip was awesome!! I’ll never erase BF1 .. It will always be my favorite. Another great video Jack .
My favorite game of all time. Love watching you play this again Jack, hope it's not too long before you return. I think I subbed to your channel after watching you play this. I distinctly remember you using the Tankgewehr M1918 (tank hunter kit) from a rooftop... then at one point you grabbed the flame trooper kit and did a montage of you roasting some kids to the tune of "It's Time to Burn" by Storm.
Jack, thanks so much for a BF1 vid. Such a joy watching you play this masterpiece. It’s just something special. Much love
Started playing when I was 18… every day. I couldn’t get enough of it. I’m now 25 and this game still amazes me the way it did when I first started. Genuinely one of the best games to ever exist.
Thanks for that detail at the end Jack, what a legend
This is up with battlefield 3 for me as my two favorites. I have some of the best memories on this game.
Jack's gameplay and commentary really make the videos seem like he's the game's main character

This was the game of my life. Never played a shooter like it before or since. I watch every time you play it and it’s like coming back to a favourite movie scene.
Most immersive FPS ever to exist. Still my favourite shooting game. Brings back memories of Jack’s old bf1 videos😄
I remember feeling pretty sceptical watching the trailer for BF1 because I wasn't sold on the WW1 setting. But had my expectations completely blown out the waters. All the dlcs, with the history and the authentic factions and map designs, remain some of the best BF ever made. Goated game
This is hands down my favourite bf game to date. The memories of playing with the Bois. The time I went 112 - 1 on the firey map with an lmg while having a Lan party with 4 others in a mates conservatory. Good times.

How dice took such a step back after this is beyond me
My favourite BF game, always nice to see it getting love on this channel
I absolutely loved playing this game back when it released, glad to see people still play it
The environmental effects, the soundscape, the dynamism of BF1 was just unheard of. I am shocked that 5 came so close afterward (maybe another studio?). I would like to see this level of fun in a modern scenario… like a Giants of Karelia, Hammerhead, Dragon Valley… so many good ones. Heck, I did love the blimp and plane warfare in BF1… good times!😊
