  • Many fighters refuse to fight in special-rule matches, in a weight-disadvantage situation, or as a replacement fighter. Despite of losing, Rodtang has showed a great fighting spirit in this fight. He had no obsession over his fighting record whatsoever but he cared deeply about the fans who were expecting him.

    • Are you drunk? Superlek won regardless of knockdown. He outscored Rodtang with the amount of kicks and knees he landed. Even Liam Harrison and Buakaw agreed with the decision. Learn the scoring before spewing nonsense.

    • in muay thai the fight is judged as a whole not who won each round. The knockdown counts more than a slight difference in meaningful shots.

  • Roadtang's mistake was that he was holding back after bursting an elbow onto Super's forehead. He was just relaxing until the knockdown. Great humanity but turned off against him

  • Superlek got lucky with the knock down elbow. Had the fight continued. Superlek was tiring while Rodtang was still going strong, unphased by the knockdown and more than ready to make Superlek pay for the lucky knockdown, coming on strong brushing off kicks and blows shaking his head. Only the fight ended a little too soon. Which was the only reason I feel he won. I hope there is a rematch. We will likely see Rodtang hitting the ground full throttle and probably win. There is always the show of respect after, regardless of who wins.

    • We can conclude this was the only reason why he won. He was able to push his weight on him to cause him to unbalance and fall, similar to a throw or trip.

  • They need to do a rematch, where superlek actually makes weight for once? Or he needs to vacate the flyweight kickboxing belt. Let Takeru, and rodtang fight for it if Superlek, cant make flyweight but once a year? He had 3 bouts at flyweight this year missing weight all but 1 time, and even then barely.

    • Superlek missed weight by 5 lb he didn't even try. Rodtang had every right to refuse this fight but he decided to go through with it his too tough to quit.

    • ​@@kaidi223 actually he DID try. But he couldn't make 135 lbs all throughout 2023 so it's ONE's fault for making the fight be at 135 lbs. Superlek literally won a 140 lbs belt shortly before he fought Rodtang and I believe he was already fighting other opponents like Kaonar at 145 lbs. ONE screwed up (as usual) by making a 135 pound Rodtang fight an inherently heavier Superlek. Oh and Superlek almost injured himself trying to make weight against Rodtang too...

  • Superlek has the height and weight advantage. But Rodtang does more serious damage. I think One Championship intentionally let Superlek to win for a bigger paycheck (Rematch).

    • Superlek is only 2 inches taller than Rodtang and I'm pretty sure he already moved up to Bantamweight if you look at his most recent videos, he looks bigger but more muscular since the Rodtang fight.

  • That wasn't a knockdown. That was a push and slip. I don't necessarily mind the outcome because Superlek did a lot well, although he wasn't professional enough to make weight, but that wasn't a knockdown, and therefore not a 10-8 round.

  • All I can really remember is supermen landing a illegal head kick while rodtang was already on the ground and that being the most significant strike he landed the whole fight I also remember him having a super bloody face almost the whole fight.

  • Fight didnt disappoint, I feel like superlek did do just enough but when two fighters are so closely matched in ability, the weight was a clear issue. If rodtang couldve done a bit more in the clinch I dont feel like him winning is impossible, would love to see a rematch

    • You are the most sane person in this entire comment section probably. International viewers all think that Rodtang won even though in Thailand everyone thinks Superlek won clearly. Only non-Thais who don't know the ONE's Muay Thai scoring system think Rodtang won. Also, most of these people aren't even talking about the massive and glaring weight difference between them. Superlek was basically cheating, but then again he couldn't make it to 135 lbs all throughout 2023 so it's ONE's fault for making a 135 pound Rodtang fight him.

    • Agree. Superlek did enough if we goes by the judging criteria even in a hypothetical scenario where Rodtang won round 1 and 3* it’s still 28-28 because Superlek scored a knock down in round 2 causing it to be 10-8 and in ONE there must be no draw so they have to give the win to fighter that scored a knockdown as stated in judging criteria that prioritize knock down over accumulative damage and control.

  • Superlek definitely did more with regards to landing his strikes and being perceived as the aggressor. Therefore, he deserved the judges’ nod. However, if we talk about the effect of his strikes, i.e. the damage they were inflicting on Rodtang, it was little to none. Rodtang’s strikes, on the other hand, clearly had a little more effect, causing Superlek to change his gameplan and engage in a lot more clinches in the third round as opposed to pure Muay Thai kickboxing in the centre of the ring which he started out with in Rd. 1. Now, I personally don’t know the scoring criteria for One, so, I can’t say who should’ve won. But, irrespective of whatever it is, what we all deserve is a rematch. And, preferably, a 5-rounder at that 😁

  • 2:43 Okay this angle is now 100% clear that Rodtang was indeed out for a second, but quickly recovered. You can see the facial expression from Rodtang changed to blank immediately and his hands dropped after the elbow. Watching it at x0.25 speed if you have to, Rodtang probably didn't feel like he went out, but he did for a second before quickly recovered. I still see Rodtang won majority of the rounds, but it is what it is. Congrantz to Superlek and wish Rodtang good luck taking out Superlek in the title fight if they do rematch.

    • I do not know what you see - he did not black out not even a second - he slipped the elbow did not connect - it barly touched him on the fall. Radtang is such a fair honest fighter - he would not say in the aftermatch interview that he slipped and the elbow did not knock him out! I believe him - they alway show the scene from an angle were it looks like he got knocked out - but there are many other camera angles were some clearly can see that he wasn't knocked out. Just look at the referee - she also did not see the knockout and looked to the judges for some time then he started counting. If this elbow would have connected in full force you would see such in Rodtangs face - but there was also nothing to see. Rodtang said he wasn't knocked out - and that is what counts for me - also look at other camera angles you can find in the internet! Just look at all the comments here - 99% of the people are on Rodtangs side - he won, he got robbed. The same way it had been reported in Thailands newspapers.

  • Show as much footage as you like but it won’t change the fact that the only people who thought Superlek won unanimously are the judges. Everyone else, including Superlek KNOWS that Rodtang won the fight. Furthermore he won against an opponent that FAILED to make weight and fought dirty. Too many of these decisions will destroy whatever credibility this promotion has left.

    • As much as I want to believe that Rodtang ate that elbow, he was out, but only a split second and he recovered. 2:43 watch it at x0.25 speed if you have to, his face went from embracing the elbow to blank immediately after it connect, and his hands dropped. Because he was out, that the muscle tense in his leg made his ankle twisted. The ankle twisted after the elbow connect, not when Rodtang put his foot down and the wrong angle that got his foot twisted. If you have seen someone getting knocked out, their facial expression goes blank immediately and their body goes noodle. Rodtang being the tank he is, he probably recovered so quick before he hits the floor, and didn't remembered the elbow landing, because he was out for a split millisecond. I still think Rodtang should have won by majority of the rounds
