Cop Flips Pregnant Mom’s Car for Not Pulling Over Fast Enough

An Arkansas woman is suing a state trooper, claiming he negligently caused her car to flip on the interstate. Nicole Harper, who was pregnant at the time of the incident, told the trooper from the overturned vehicle that she had her flashers on and was looking for a safe place to pull over. The trooper said Harper was speeding and didn’t pull over fast enough. After the trooper rammed the car’s rear bumper, it spun out of control across the highway, hit a wall and flipped over. #InsideEdition

  • She had the right to find a safe place to pull over, and had even used her turn signal and hazard lights to indicate that's what she was doing. To then intentionally ram her off the road and just stand there lecturing her after he flipped her vehicle... no words. I went through a miracle pregnancy after years of fertility treatments and would have been having a meltdown in fear of losing the baby. That cop needs to be removed from the force! He is a dangerous menace!

    • lol this happened to me one time but the cop was on a motorcycle so he couldn't have tried that on me. he just kept flashing the lights and making the loud siren sound that's like move move. i didn't want to stop because it was too much traffic so i waited until i got down the street i was going to turn right on. he lectured me about not stopping and said whether you have anxiety or whatever, you gotta immediately stop. in my mind, i was just thinking, thanks for the police escort... that traffic really was aggravating me. 😅 let me go with no ticket or citation, probably because i was young and small.

    • Cops don't have to obey the laws like we do. How this cop didn't know, or more likely chose to ignore, the law indicating she was trying to find a safer location to pull over. It's absurd. Ever think people may be doing so not only for their sake, but to be courteous to the officer having to stand out in the open on a busy highway?? They even make highway emergency areas for things like accidents and pullovers. This guy is a grade A PoS!

  • In November of 2021, Janice Nicole Harper reached a settlement agreement in her case against the Arkansas State Police that led to policy changes on the use of PIT maneuvers. As part of the settlement, the ASP has had troopers undergo additional training after learning of the PIT maneuver used on Harper.

Yet, he made it seem like her fault for him causing her to flip. He doesn’t need ‘paid leave until we figure it out’. Its obvious what happened.     • He ALSO nearly killed a woman, what if she weren't pregnant? Would this make it less worse or the officer less "horrible of a person" or "horrible at his job"? No, he should be fired or unpaid leave. Clearly he wasn't trained well and the higher ups should also be looked into, there's more than a cover to a story. He didn't call in to request a pit from what I heard in the video which was a big no no, and he didn't want to flip the car, it's just that I sadly happened out of a one in a hundredth chance and now a woman is scarred for life but luckily the baby is ok.

  • Instead of admitting to his wrongs after almost killing this woman and her unborn child and totaling her car, he still came up with false excuses as to why it was her fault for trying to responsibly pull over, rather than his fault for acting as if it was a high speed chase.

    • He did wrong and she did wrong. You have to pull over IMMEDIATELY, not "when it's safe to you". That can actually be deemed evasion (arrestable offense) on the police orders. She was perfectly safe to pull over, but he didn't need to pit maneuver her
