Woman Faces Student Who Killed Husband and Unborn Baby: ‘You’re a Monster’

The woman who survived a 2016 car crash that killed her husband and unborn child is recounting the day that changed her life. In August 2016, newlyweds Kristian and Fabian Guerrero were driving along a road in San Marcos, Texas, when Shana Elliott hit them head on. Kristian, who was driving, was five months pregnant at the time. She was taken to the hospital and survived a brain bleed, but her husband was killed. An ultrasound nurse told her more terrible news: that her baby died too. #InsideEdition

    • It's the words of a human, who cares about revenge more than anything else. Her anger is understandable, but not her ignorance that a person, who threw out his brain before, now regrets doing it, because the cost of his stupidity is someone's death and he feels the burden of killing two people, in this case.

      @anoniukas@anoniukas Жыл бұрын
    • i actually don't understand that saying. that woman was probably legit sorry and feels horrible about it. same with other people who make awful mistakes. "sorry you got caught" is just what people say when they don't want to accept an apology. and that's well within your right to not accept an apology. but "you're only sorry you got caught" doesn't apply to everyone you're just mad at.

If this accident hadn't happened, how many more times do you think she would have continued to get behind the wheel after drinking? She knew full well that she was endangering herself and everyone else on the road before getting in that car and would have continued to do so if she hadn't been caught actually causing an accident. So yes, she is only upset that she got caught.

  • My uncle used to be a "functioning alcoholic" as he put it, and he would drive drunk often. When I was learning how to drive, I said to my uncle "what if you're driving drunk and one day you hit a car with children inside or you kill someone, what if you hit me?" He got sober after that, he didn't have children of his own and he always treated me like his, I wasn't expecting him to quit drinking (I just didn't want him to drive drunk anymore) but something must have clicked for him when I said that.

    • Good on you. So many of my family members have died either of liver disease or driving drunk. Alcohol is poison, yet for some reason, it's considered a hobby to drink it. People structure their entire social lives around alcohol. Some people can't relax or have fun unless they're drinking, and it's sad. I think that if a person has to get drunk in order to have fun, they must be extremely boring in general.

Even though my dad has repeatedly told me that I'm level-headed enough that I'd be fine even if I ever did get drunk (meaning he's confident that I'd be smart enough to not get behind the wheel even while intoxicated), I refuse to even take that risk, no matter how minute of a risk it might be. To the point that I refuse to have even the tiniest sip of alcohol. I refuse to ever allow myself to even have the chance of getting drunk.

  • I worked in a Trauma ICU. As a nursing student, I felt only a fraction of the pain the young woman felt who was beginning to awaken for the first time while still on the ventilator. I grabbed her a piece of paper and pen to write what she was trying to tell me, which haunts me to this day. “baby alive? where?”. I looked her in the eyes and paused just long enough for her to understand her baby had passed in the crash. “I’m so sorry, he didn’t make it.” She was hit head-on by a drunk HS student. I’ll never forget that moment. 11 years ago.
