In all fairness the way that rod was bowed and he asked them to "take the rod first" I'm pretty sure he was hooked up to something big that had towed him out off shore. He damn sure did not paddle that far. I kayak fish in the ocean near shore and it's still terror inducing to hook up a big fish and have it start to tow you out. I got dragged 2 miles out by a 4 foot Blacktip shark once and even though it was one of the biggest fish I have ever caught I still thought about cutting the line as he was taking me out. That clown does not realize how lucky he was someone found him before the North Atlantic current did. That being said as a fisherman I still respect his commitment, it's a hell of alot more than I have.

My favorite part of this video was the lightning bugs in the field. I miss them so much! As a child we had so much fun trying to catch them and put them in mason jars with lids we poked holes into. Now, here in Florida where I live, the city sprays to kill mosquitoes and that's when the fireflies went away, too. 😢

That ocean video and picture reminds me of the exact similar snapshot of the young girl who was in an inflated tube just like that, floating for about a week before they found her and she was alive and well. She was orphaned after a tragedy at sea. She was the only survivor. Her name is Terry Jo Duperrault. Your photo of the video reminded me of that.
Apparently inflatable unicorns are way more seaworthy than anyone expects. It's kind of shocking how often people are found floating miles off shore clinging to inflatable unicorns.
