We decided to make additional videos where we test our machines.
This allows us to show more details and capabilities of the device.
As you can see, this brash mower works very well. Tall grass is no obstacle for it, and thanks to its sturdy construction, it can even fell and chop trees up to 2 inches in diameter/ 5 cm.

  • Beautiful build... thanks for sharing! The chariot trailer would be more stable with a longer tongue & a shorter hitch bar on the mower. The center-line of the chariot axle is too close to the hitch pin axis... the more you increase this relative distance, the more stable the platform will be.

  • So watching the part with the brushes and trying to cut them down. A version 2 or adition to the brush deck would be to have a lever that can pull back part of the deck to expose the blade for moments like this. If the blade were able to stick out past the deck you could cut that brush down with ease.

    • Bad Idea,. thats just screaming for an accident of bystander or dog to get into. Exposed open blade, any kind of slip and fall just all kinds of mishaps come to mind. What you have now works well enough. Cheers.

    • @@lectro88 clearly you did not read what I wrote. You could have a small part of the deck that slides back so you can cut the brush. Matter of fact there are several commercial versions of brush mowers that have decks with exposed blades. This is a brush cutter and not a lawn mower. Safety is for the users and not the machines.

      @kameljoe21@kameljoe219 ай бұрын
    • @@kameljoe21 My reading is just fine. And I understand plenty well this is a walkbehind BushHog(not a mower) I also have worked around plenty of equipment(50yrs)and folks that are clueless can get their hands on said equipment and mix that with bystanders and or pets and you tempt fate.... I have seen too many things go wrong in the area of if it can go wrong IT WILL. will not engage with further comments, never argue with idiots is a good parting statement.

    • @@lectro88You clearly are the reason why Saw Stop exists and a person who would buy it and then activate it a dozen times and then spend the 100 dollar plus to repair it every time. There are people like me who clearly understand and treat tools as if they will injure you. Is like the old man with the missing fingers from a table saw accident. Had you asked him if he was not paying attention, drinking or screwing around one of those 3 things are true if not 2 of them. Clearly your generation is the reason why safety exists. Yet you got to be 70 years and think that every device needs to have safety thing on it when it does not. Accidents happen because people clearly do not understand.

  • Few suggestions from someone who has used a machine much like the one you created for hundreds of hours already. Get a link drive belt, it will change your life. Second you need to choose a side i would suggest the right side and cut an exhaust chute out so you arent recutting what youve already gone over its a brush cutter not a mulching lawnmower. Third make yourself a brush bar at a 45° angle off the front of the cutter deck outta rebar so you dont have to push down on the handles so far to take down larger brush. Great videos keep up the good work

  • That thing is a BEAST!!! You might get even better performance if you had a side shoot of some kind to expel the waste so it doesn't slow the blades as much. What happens if you hit a rock or stump with it? It can't be good. :)

  • You did an excellent build,. We have a mass produced version called a DR. not as beasty. For more torque on the blade a 1" or 30mm larger pulley on the blade shaft would change things quite a bit. But you know that already. I love the john deere paint scheme.

  • So the dolly on which you sit doesn't weeble wobble (which can't be easy one you) as much, a good way to make it more stable would be to put springs to assist and dampen the movement. Also, the wheels, they could be given some negative camber and a little bit of toe-out. This will force the thing to track better. A few degrees should be enough, nothing Japanese drift car like.

  • Might I suggest pneumatic swivel casters for the front of the mower, and a sulky with a seat for flat surface mowing? It would be less work for you, and would make for more uniform mow height. I do realize these changes won't help much in tall grass and weeds, but they are standard equipment for similar mowers.
