I think one thing you really need to do is make it "livable", meaning that you can walk between the houses, with stairs or pathways, even ladders. Now every house feels a bit disconnected. My notifications got destroyed today… thx

For the mountain houses, make sure they're all accessible by paths in the end. It adds soooo much realism and looks really cool when you creatively do it on a mountain/cliffside.

It shows how colourful and happy it can be in the Philippines, from the moment you told that the mountain was inspired by one of the waterfalls in the Philippines I just had to watch you, all of the aspects of the base looks so cool! And anyways, keep working hard on the base, I’m just in awe by looking at it!

As a girl, I can confirm, squeaky noises are the best response you can get to something, and is typically my response when intensely fangirling over art, writing, or someone’s lovely singing abilities. I mean, although I personally didn’t make noises at those buildings, I did find them particularly pretty and I know for sure they’ll look lovely on the mountain.

Not sure why I just found the season 8 Mumbo episodes but I'm very glad I have. They literally make me smile to watch.
I'm really proud of Mumbo for the town that he created. I know that sounds really patronising, but it's something that he is not comfortable with and he has totally proved that if you step up to something you are not always happy with and work hard at it you can do what you hope you can. And I know it's just a video game, but it applies to real life as well haha

I would recommend having some of the buildings "point in different directions" (aka have the entrances not all be on the same side) to make them seem a bit more cramped and to help how it looks from the sides.
And also it would make more sense in a realistic pov, it would make the "town" feel more alive, especially if roads/paths and staircases are built

I just go into hermitcraft a month ago and seeing the buildings really made me proud to be a Filipino. It truly reminds me of the rural area of Calamba. It makes so happy that there is a building that is inspired by the Philippines' beauty.

Hey Mumbo a quick tip to help make your town feel more alive, in real towns and villages not all of the houses face the same way, but rather they usually face a center point. If you build your town the way that looks like it would best be able to function then it typically looks the best too. Hope this helps!

Normally yes that would make sense for a village build. Like what they originally did with the boatem starter bases. Except for cliffside villages generally always face outward. So his style is actually accurate. Tho some small paths, stairs and ladders would bring it all together as if it was a active village.
THIS TURNED OUT SO AMAZING! I would suggest you to, later on, create walkable paths throught all the houses, and maybe even create interiors, because the view of the village and the houses while you are in it is just gorgeous.
I love the idea of not needing to worry about expectations cause the expectations are already low. It makes the result look so much better. You’re “not a builder” and aren’t know for building but you managed to make these amazing buildings on your amazingly built mountain. So it’s fifty times more impressive

Once you're happy with the location of your houses, you should add pathways and crazy thin walkways all over to try and bring life to the build. Add banners, lanterns, pots, farms. Try and tell a story with your build. Youre doing great mumbo!

I lived in the Philippines for a year and one of my favourite things about Filipino houses is that lots of them have shops attached. It was very convenient.
The buildings look lovely in this squished style, one on top of the other like they are a single piece. One thing I think would be nice is maybe adding sobe small wooden bridges between the taller houses and squeeze in some alleys, streets and stairs, just to make it more "lived in". Scar always talks about making a build feel like it's been lived in, so some roads, stairs and other human elements (like baskets, lanterns, etc) would do the trick. I imagine you already have more things planned tho, since building in the houses is only the first step. Overall, looks wonderful!

They might appear to be glowing, but it's just because their "glowing" spots aren't affected by local light levels, so they appear bright in dim/dark areas (the same goes for glowing signs and item frames).

Mumbo can make the back a forest trail that goes out to sea. We have those in the Philippines where behind a steep cliffs, mountains or volcanoes is the ocean or a large lake. He can even insert a hot spring with smoke at the foot or in the middle of it like mt. Apo

Mumbo if you find a way to back light your windows in your houses it will make them glow at night. This can be done for non-transparent blocks by lighting one block in front and under or above the block you want to glow, the effect is increased if the subject your wanting to illuminate is set back farther in the build.
This man has gone from building squashed circles to an entire terraforming mountain with an incredible looking village on it… in two seasons

the villagers would probably fall and die, though... hed need to either keep them in the houses or get some sort of ledge to avoid them walking off the edge
