It's really getting harder and harder to watch ELB's tactics. I want her to do well, but she loves working for her competitors.
I agree that her tactics are often questionable and frustrating, but today was actually pretty straightforward... either work to guarantee a 2nd place at worst, or let the chase group back in and have a high probability of not making the podium. Better to fly the Italian colours at the front and give the fans hope until you get dusted in the final 500m, than waste a guaranteed top-2 finish by playing games. Everyone, including ELB, knew Kopecky was going to smoke her in a 2-up sprint or from a 6-up sprint either way, so at least she was being realistic with her tactics and securing lots of WT points/prize money.
@@AndrewDHDavidson Totally, I get ya. And I get that she would want to get that prize money, but she's finished on the podium several times already in this race, and who knows how many other chances she'll have. She's gotta make this one count, and has to do more than just hope Lotte won't be at her best at the final climb. In my lame opinion, anyways. :)

From Japan. No longer GCN Japan locally. At a moment, Eurosports net free viewing is only one media which provide us with the video result report in safty . Hopefully, you would continue to let us see the races internationally this season. Women elite race is getting popular in Japan. Most of women elite riders has come to Japan in 2021 Tokyo olympic for Road race category. So they are very familiar to us.
Any way, Kasia and Demi were in same position?? It seems that they reached the goal at same time.

A race that is not yet twenty years old cannot be called a monument.
I disagree, it’s a better race than some of the classics and monuments. And the riders really enjoy it. It has the best finish of any of the other races.
@@Liofa73better than entering the Roubaix velodrome for a lap of victory or group sprint?? No way, that's delivered amazing finishes consistently, for decades. Strade is an epic finishing stretch, but dismissing Roubaix is crazy.
@@Liofa73 Name a monument in the women's calendar it's better than. Flanders? Roubaix? No way. They would also have to increase the distance to make it a real monument. You don't know what you're talking about

She led by 100m at the end. That’s what counts. She was the one they started the breakaway 9km from the end. If ELB wanted to ride on the front the rest of the way, LK wasn’t going to complain. That’s bike racing.
I’m sorry to hear she did not win by your rules. For some reason (🤔) the UCI has not (yet?) implemented your rules as the general worldwide rules. Perhaps you have to lobby more at the UCI to make that happen…? 🤷🏼♂️
