I bought the cheapest Porsche 718 Cayman S in the whole entire county in hopes to rebuild it myself. But there's a few things we need to check before i jump into the rebuild project to make sure its actually worth the time as i have quickly found out that Porsche parts are not cheap!

Hi Mat, just to let you know that i tried to use your discount code today on Car Vertical and it did not work when i came to pay. Hope that helps
@@kdmaj thats because he needs to buy another radiator..🤣🤣🤣
Have you previously bought any cars that you didn't get to fix up and so they were never seen on the channel? Maybe because you've realised it's structurally unsound or it's engine was screwed? Obviously with each one you buy you are taking a chance with not being able to view it before buying.
Mat can you please put links to all the companies you use for bodykits, alloys etc to save me going back through your videos to find their names. It would be massively appreciated by many I'm sure 👍👍👍
i enjoy this program BUT there is something annoying about this guy that gets under my skin. Don't think i would like to buy a car from this guy.
I actually don't think the damaged doors and bumper is from fork lift misuse. I think it's possible from lifting with straps from a ditch... Either that or it was strapped to a flat bed with ratchet straps...
That was my thoughts
Same here I was thinking it was lifting straps as well.
Yes indeed looks like it
Yep, that was my thoughts, looks to me with the wheel damage and dirt in the front end, it's most probably spun off a road (or a track) and probably landed in a ditch, and then been removed with straps around to lift it out, and the buckles have dug in to the sides.
Have to agree with you. My very thoughts as soon as I saw the marks.
I’ve purchased from CoPart, nearly every car has had damaged sill joints , dented chassis rails, damaged exhaust systems and cracked plastics underneath, I’ve seen more damage done by the loaders than in the accident, they really do need to address this issue.
Doesn’t help when they throw them around with the forklifts tbf 🥱
That's interesting as the USA YTers don't seem to spot this issue. Maybe cos they use those massive CAT loaders and not some tiny forklift?
Address the Issue. So is this by Post or Email 🙊🙊
Copart do not care
They don't give a fuxk cos by the time they load the car up for u, uve paid them. If it was me I'd load it myself however difficult it was.
I like the way Mat is so chilled even when things aren't going as plan lol
He has a plan? 🤣🤣
@@jeangenie68 there is never a plan 🤣
I think we all know that the money isn't in the car it's in the Utube views
The costs are irrelevant because it'll be sold via a lottery for more than what was spent. Its basically a risk free job (assuming it can be fixed that is)
I bet his speech was a bit more colourful in the uncut version! 😅
Smashing through the builds Mat, I love the fact that you’re keeping the faith on this build. Serious work on this one, good luck buddy! ✌️
The attention to detail on these videos Mat is second to none. The small things like the soundtrack and choice of music make the whole experience so enjoyable and polished. Keep it up 👍
Glad you like them!
Mad respect that you are actually showing your mistakes and explain them! This is the only way we people can learn from each other. People nowadays are afraid to show their mistakes because this will show the rest their weakness. I see power not weakness in that approach!
Keep up the good work what you’ve achieved is amazing and how much you have learnt along the way has given me the motivation to take on a project I’ve just bought TOP MAN 👊🏼
Big respect Mat for taking this one on Mate! What a challenge! 🤯 looking forward to see how it pans out 🤘
Always look forward to your videos as they are relatable, since watching your videos I’ve gotten the courage to swap bootlid, front bumper, headlights and fit aftermarket headlights on my 03 Passat estate as well as change a full cream interior including seatbelts to a black interior apart from the dash that’s next on the list
Love what you’re doing Mat. You explain everything succinctly in your videos which keeps it interesting and entertaining. The best thing is how you encourage your audience with an “if I can do it, anyone can” attitude. Truly inspirational, keep going mate and all the best for the future.
Another great video, Mat. Love the truthfulness of trial and error you go through. Although I’m sure it’s painful in the moment, it is extremely relatable for fellow spanner heads!
Them marks are from the straps they used to lift it out of a ditch it rolled over in .the pullys would’ve made the holes..can’t wait to see how your going to fix them pillars.
Stacker rash. Blindingly obvious.
@@flyinyamaha Yeah, you can see the marks on the door panels don't go all the way up the panel. Like you would expect from straps. The fork lift shown in the video though, has 2 short rests at the back of the forks, which would line up perfectly with the door panel damage.
Loving the videos Mat, have been watching since The Maserati rebuild and have been addicted since 👊🏻
Taking the rough with the smooth fella. Love the optimism when things go wrong. Keep up the hard work as your channel is keeping me well entertained.
Brilliant!!! This will stay with both of you forever, what a great memory to have.
Mat you're so inspiring brodah, I look up to you,I cannot wait to do what you do, I love it. Blessings brodah.
Its just so satisfying taking a car apart and fixing stuff regardless the level of the project big or small, i think you like the car more and bond more then if you just having a car you do nothing with.
Fantastic clip Matt - was waiting for this instalment as I’ve got a 718 Cayman so it’ll be as educational for me as much as yourself!! Can’t wait for pt3.
Love your attitude Mat. You never let setbacks get you down. Always positive.
Great video and mega that you always have a positive outlook on problems that arise, keep the great content coming 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Honestly this man has skill and the time to fix v8 cars I wouldn’t even know where to start but mat your a inspiration to teach young people
I love porsche please continue this build mat I’m sure it will come out amazing 🙌🏻
Great video Mat 👍👍I love the way you see beyond the problem 👍👍Keep the videos coming ❤️❤️
Matt you are a legend mate. To have a go at this Porsche is beyond brave. I'm sure you can do it, so long as it's economically viable. I'm really looking forward to the next videos. Good luck fella :)
Legend……Man i can never get enough of watching your vids…. Motivation at its finest
Love your videos can’t wait for more of these, look forward to your vids mat, KZhead legend
Found your channel about 2 or 3 months ago and watched from the s5 series. Finally caught up and on track and enjoying them 👌🏻
You are totally amazing ! The projects you take on are quite something !
I absolutely love your videos mate. This channel is where I grew my love for cars. Biggest fan from South Africa🇿🇦 . Keep it up !!
I don't have a dip stick either but dash menu has an extra notice for oil level when engine is off (has to be off for 10+ mins first). Jag xf 2013 2 2d
Love this project so much, hope for the best and that engine is fine. This is a amazing car.
This is reverting, really enjoying this adventure, keep going Mat, best yet.
I really like your attitude Mat, gotta respect that Keep it up
Great first episode. The damage seems to be from the tractor cranes that sometimes are lifting up F1 cars from gravel. Looking forward to the next part. Keep up the good work.
The camera and voice over quality is amazing bro!
I love the way we get to see everything, mistakes and all! Awesoke
Mat - my car needs its alternator changed so bit stressed and your vids just make me forget about it👍
Amazing what you’re doing, can’t wait to see the finished car 👍👍👍
Looking forward to watching this all play out! Ironically, I purchased a 718 GTS in GT silver metallic last month as well :) I must say, the car still even looks good all ripped apart... lol
I’m loving how all the videos are all in the one place, cheers guys
Love this build! Always learning aren’t ya fella! Doing good tho bro so keep it up
good vid mat, u must be the hardest working youtuber in the country, good luck to u and congrats on the new unit.
Can't wait to see more on this porsche and eventually see it on the road! Perhaps a change of colour at some point?!
You are doing a very hard work, so mistakes may happen, just keep working and beliving in the project!
Ken from North Carolina. USA. Became a fan watching you do the rebuild with Tavarish in Florida USA. Now I'm subscribed and going down the youtube rabbit hole trying to consume as many of your videos I can find. Love your work, and God bless Hannah... 😅
Loving the new camera! Looking sick!
Love your video's,but have to say the Aston V8 vantage was the best looking I've ever seen 👌
Great video Mat I’ve got a boxster bloody unlucky on that rad looking forward to seeing the next video
Sunday night isn’t complete without a Mat Armstrong video, fantastic content once again; gutted its only 17 minutes long, think I’ll go back and watch the z range Rover series 😀👌🏼👍🏻
You've been absolutely killing it these last few months, you're giving me the inspiration I need to make more videos!
Thanks Natalie!! Yes we need more vids!
Best car repair channel on TV or KZhead
Good news the frame doesn’t look too bad under the a-pillar. Vacuum bleeding coolant in anything mid-engined is pretty standard, surprised you didn’t think of that one. If you can’t vacuum bleed it, another way is to get the arse-end as high as you can when filling the system - not perfect but it can be enough. On the older Caymans/Boxsters the coolant cap has a little manual valve on the top you can open to help purge any remaining air after filling
Looking forward to this one. Just love your builds.
If anyone's able to get this baby back on the road, it's Mat. Big respect, I love your content. Can't wait to see your next video mate!
Throw enough money at it and anythings possible
This is gonna be one amazing build 🙌
Another brilliant watch mate I dunno how you manage to remain so cheerful it’s a wonderful trait 😂 good luck 👍🏻I will be watching this with interest
Keep going Mat..learn as you go 👍🏻
Keep going buddy loving the content it’s brilliant peace out ✌🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Just imagine how good the finished product would look
I'm so happy for better video quality on your channel 😍
Genuinely feels like this one could be the toughest rebuild yet matt. So many panels and pieces of glass are going to need sorting. And that's before any mistakes or surprises come along.
Man feel for you. But looking back to how you have brought the other cars back from the dead I’m sure you have got this you have such positive vibes and a good team around you. You cats have good this 👍👍🤗. Great vid
My lord at the end had me in stitches 🤣🤣 Had a very similar experience, expensive lesson for us both 🤣👍
Hey Mat, if ya read this comment, I work for Copart as a Hgv driver, I go collecting cars, vans, bikes, the damage done by the forklifts is unfortunate, cos the depot I work at, the forklifts have heavy duty crash pads fitted to them to stop that kind of damage happening
On Facebook they make a template of the damaged part on the vehicle then weld it on they do it so seamlessly it's amazing...
Good work as always, mate. Liking the new camera!
Sonfar so good, i just had both front air con rads changed, cost me £460 with a regas. Youll get there!!!
Love this build ❤️🔥
It shares parts because it's part of the VW AUDI Group, there's normally a bleed program for the cooling system on these new VAG motors so double check if it has one, there will be many parts that are off other makes and models so check everything including seat and skoda, might help you keep costs down more
Mate love your videos absolute legend 🙌
I like the way you know enough but you still learn odd things man. Like I said before. Great channel man. 👊🏾
As always, a lot of time for this series. Looking forward to this one
Awesome work! Congrats from Portugal
Can't wait for the next one. I'm hooked!
I'm in Zambia and inspired by your guts to take on these projects Something I'd like to do as a hobby one day
My heart actually sank when I saw the 2nd rad drips 🙁 Fascinating to watch and good luck mate.
Mr and Mrs A... Top pair fantastic builds
Would love to watch this series
My favorite channel on KZhead currently!
I would have asked for some kind of discount..but fair play Mr Armstrong for taking on another project that people wouldn't think twice about lol..keep doing what you do, and I can't wait to see what you do with the BMW csi
Best man alive to make a better Sunday ❤️
ah man that sucks big props for still posting the video a lot of other youtubers wouldn't
Matt, you’re a good guy, so I take no pleasure - after assessing a few cars (many many cars), that Porsche is well beyond economic repair. Also, the A pillar damage is structural, you’ll need to replace the inner structure to make it safe. Best of luck.
Officially my favourite YT Channel
I have Jag. Would like to see you do one up. Fingers crossed on this rebuild I think you're going to need it.
Loving the vids keep them coming👍🏽put a gts front bumper on it will look so much better and you need a bumper anyway
As you were topping off the coolant, I was yelling at the screen. Modern Audis and Porsches both have pretty strict vacuum bleed and refill requirements. Also, be sure to carefully read the oil change process, it's very easy to overfill the oil and an oil extractor is worthwhile investment.
And bmw and Mercedes’ Matt should have known this by now.
Specially on a car where heat exhcanger is good 6 feet away from the engine pumping coolent using 2 inch pipes.
Tbats why i live thsse vids...shows warrs an all. Learning alongthe way. Can you post your perfect no mistake vids. Jees. Give the guy a break
@@simulation8083 If you want to learn about porsches and fix them, first download the service manual and invest bit of money on an aftermarket PIWIS. There are true educational vids on youtube which not 100% on entertainment.
Yeah, that was a rank amateur mistake.
I used to work at copart on the transporters collecting the cars, I can tell you now that wouldn't be from copart loaders that's more then likely from a recovery company using their forklift to move it around (seen it so many times) only bit could have been copart is back bumper as they not ment to lift from the side
Hiya Matt knew it would be a banger before it started keep it up cc
Love a Sunday upload 👌🏻
raw and unfiltered content💯
I have a feeling that Hannah will take it over once it`s done 😂😂
Who would want a Porsche when you have a Range Rover?
@@jerrygreene7139 any normal person that loves cars?
@@jerrygreene7139 Anyone who has an ounce of petrol in their veins........
Loving the Porsche tear down. Positivity all the way too - the only way is forward.
Can’t lie mat I laughed my head off at your unfortunate events great video !!👍✅
In case nobody remarked, Mat started uploading 4K! Much better video quality for the best quality videos, keep up Mat
So happy to see you doing a porsche! Cant wait for more
knew you would post today, good stuff, happy Sunday everyone
If you get the gt4 front bumper kit u dont need the lower bar. Im going thru a rebuild of one of these my self
Looking forward to this one! Not as much as the BMW but still going to be good!
