The Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in OT to win Super Bowl LVIII. Colin Cowherd and former Chiefs RB LeSean McCoy discuss what this win means for Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid’s legacies, as well as the spat between Reid and Travis Kelce. Plus, they discuss if the 49ers losing proved that Brock Purdy isn’t among the NFL’s elite QBs.

    • Thats how they operate in the playoff, just trying to be down no more than 1 score, keep playing catch-up on the scoreboard, dont let the opponent lead get too big. Then finish strong in the 4th/OT or with a last minute drive. You know which other team does that? The New England Patriots under Brady-Belichick era.

  • The Chiefs secondary is great but the big players such as McDuffie, Sneed, and Reid shouldnt be the guys you target and on most big plays that was who was in coverage that would knock it down. Not that the rest are scrubs but you look back and you'll see the ones they completed were usually Edwards the 3rd or 4th safety on the team and Watson and Williams 2 late round guys in their 2nd year they needed to keep going at those guys and either chose not to or couldn't, I did see some calls from Spags on blitzes where they brought the blitz in the throw lane of those guys in coverage making Purdy go at Sneed or McDuffie. Spags called a great game and the big boys in the secondary played big time football

They got good and have been an offensive team picking late every year, but somehow every season they seem to get their hands on my favorite defender/sleeper pick. It's happened with LeJarious Sneed, Karlaftis, and Nick Bolton. I wanted all those guys for the saints. Chiefs got them though and bot that defense is playing well together as a unit. Can't wait to see who they add this year on that side of the ball. Really impressive drafting over there.

He could hold it for the next game. Did he run corn dog on Baltimore? I don't think so. I also agree with the comment about Mahomes' calm. I've never seen him throw a helmet, or get down after a mistake. I think that was a big difference in the Baltimore game, and it was a huge difference on Sunday. He's a leader. I loved the way he went right back to MVS in overtime, after a mistake in judgment. He It was a good call because the defense wouldn't expect it, and it was good for the Chiefs because it showed confidence in MVS.

  • I just want to point this out, to put Coach Reid's brilliance into perspective, with a comparison to Coach Belichick: Bill Belichick - WITH Tom Brady years included: 28 seasons as HC 20 winning seasons with a .500 or better 8 seasons with a losing record 18 trips to the playoffs 6 super bowls Andy Reid - WITH Patrick Mahomes II included: 24 seasons as HC 22 winning seasons with a .500 or better 2 seasons with a losing record 18 trips to the playoffs 3 super bowls Bill Belichick - WITHOUT TB12 (but including 2009 when TB12 started game 1 and was injured for season, also includes 2000 where Brady was a rookie but didn't play): 11 seasons as HC (10 seasons if you don't count the Bradyless 2009 season) 3 winning seasons with a .500 or better (2 seasons if you don't count the Bradyless 2009 season) 2 trips to the playoffs 0 super bowl trips at all (win or lose), never made it past divisional round Andy Reid - WITHOUT PH15 (but including 2017 when PH15 was a rookie and didn't play behind Alex Smith): 19 seasons as HC 17 winning seasons with a .500 or better 13 trips to the playoffs 1 super bowl trip (2004 Eagles, lost to TB12 and Patriots) 6 NFC Championship appearances 1 NFC Championship win Andy Reid has been making bricks WITHOUT straw for NINETEEN YEARS. He has gone most of his career as a HC without a hall of famer at QB for most of his career and yet his teams have consistently been contenders. That is just how good Coach Reid is and why only a fool bets against that man. And now he has his own TB12 to see out the rest of his coaching career.
