If the game is tied after each team gets the ball, then it's sudden death and the team that took the ball first gets the ball. Not rocket science.

Nick Folks from the bench won the SB with average team, but great defense and he was great in the playoffs. Pat manning was not great in playoffs and could not reach anywhere deeper in the playoffs, but Purdy went into SB in the first year, and do think that makes Purdy better than Pat Manning? No body will say that, making in the SB and winning SB doesn't make a QB better looking player. Ely manning beat Tom twice and Ely manning was average. Let's see Purdy next 2 years, or he might be out 49rs roster. He was not great on 3rd and down.

The Chiefs had Willie Davis and J.J.Birden who could fly and Dave Krieg who could throw the bomb. That team would have won the Super Bowl if they didn't luck out and get Montana.

That's an avg of 266 yards a game, 1.78 TDs, and .4 Ints with a 68% completion rate and 8 yards per pass. Purdy in 16 games (since he didn't play the last game of the year) had 4200 yards with 31 TDs and 11 Ints; that's 262 yards per game, 1.9 TDs per game, .68 Ints per game and 69% completion rate......very identical almost like it's a plug and play offense 🤣 🤣 🤣 the biggest difference between the two is the oline is significantly better than when Jimmy was QB and CMC gets the ball WAY more

  • Everybody says that OT is one of the most important positions in football, has any of the other multi-SB winning QBs done so with a new set of Tackles in each of them like Mahomes has? Fischer and Schwartz in the 1st, Brown and Wylie in the 2nd, and Smith and Taylor in the 3rd. I could be wrong but it seems like other QBs didnt have that level of inconsistency in one of the most important positions

  • I think everyone's missing it. The Chiefs coaching staff has proven to be great teachers and great teachers know if you lower the anxiety level of your students they are going to be better test takers. So, at the test, Chiefs players had no anxiety over the OT because they knew the strategy/game plan. The niners players did not so their level of anxiety and ability to perform is going to be reduced. The difference is stark: Chiefs players thinking, "okay we know the plan.."; niners players, "we don't automatically win if we score?" "what's the plan?" "should we kick first?".

  • To think that if it wasnt for Brady, Mahomes might have won two more rings already. The challenge will be keeping a viable team around Mahomes for his entire career. Part of that includes him taking less money due to the salary cap. He will eventually lose Andy Reid and Kelce to retirement given their ages and those will be massive loses.

  • The 49ers would have lost by 14+ in regulation with Jimmy G this time. Purdy had less time to throw and a far tougher secondary to deal with than Jimmy did in the SB. The 49ers scored more points in the second half against the Chiefs defense than Baltimore, Buffalo, and Miami combined in the playoffs. Also, after losing the lead, Purdy led his team back to the lead TWICE. After all the Colin and Nick hype about CMC being the real superstar, lets not forget he only gained 3.6yds per carry in the SB after averaging 5.4yds in the regular season. The 49er O-line is well below average other than Trent Williams and the Chiefs made them pay.

Apparently everyone forgot that Miami’s perfect season happened in the middle of them taking 3 consecutive SB trips. They lost the first and won the next 2. They were also still a viable playoff team the following year. It should at least warrant a mention 🤷‍♂️

  • God Mahomes is on a level all his own. He took a Chiefs team that had 11, 11, 12 & 10-win seasons under Andy Reid with Alex Smith at QB and made them uuuh ... keep winning. Andy Reid has had FIFTEEN double-digit win seasons & is arguably the greatest coach ever. Figuring out who is responsible for the other success here is pretty easy. But seriously, the thing I liked most about Mahomes this year was the ONE & ONLY TD & 'DRIVE' he led the Chiefs on in the final SEVEN quarters OF this postseason. ONE. It happened a whopping 74:56 into the Super Bowl. Think about that. It took him 75 MINUTES to drive the Chiefs the length of the field for a TD. Also, thank goodness that Greenlaw had the flukiest injury IN SUPER BOWL HISTORY & that his replacement was targeted 9 times and gave up 9 completions AND a TD ... the cheapy. Thank goodness that the backup right guard totally BLEW his assignment & gave Chris Jones a free-runner with Aiyuk & Jennings WIDE OPEN. Thank goodness that punt hit a guy running 15mph PERFECTLY in the foot & gave the Chiefs a cheap TD. That Mahomes, man ... he makes things happen!
