The US Army & German Wehrmacht VS Waffen SS - Battle for Castle Itter 1945
On 5 May 1945, a few days after Hitler’s suicide, American soldiers under command of US Army Captain John C. "Jack" Lee, Jr. teamed up with a number of Wehrmacht soldiers under German major, Josef Sepp Gangl who was opposed to the Nazis to rescue VIP prisoners from Castle Itter .

RIP Gangl. Gave his life trying to do a little thing to help correct the mistakes his nation had made and gave his life for it.
Shows how there's a difference between wermacht and SS
SS equals Soviet NKVD divisions.
Exactly. The SS was separated by not just training, but by the fact they were more committed to Nazism, whereas the Wehrmacht fought solely for country. There were many German soldiers and officers who defected, but the SS remained loyal to Hitler’s regime even after his death.
Jackson Challender really? by how much?
Jackson Challender that’ll do it
Jackson Challender just to info, the amount of war crimes from Wehrmacht (invasions), and their executions to those was a war crime itself. UK asked us about why they sentenced Wehrmacht soldiers to death, which US didn’t wished to reply to. The sentences of SS is more justified, especially when you mention SS Totenkopfverbände who was the main source of the Holocaust.
The greatest cross over episode in history.

@ Green Machine, I bet you have never visited Eastern Europe. I live here and I have traveled a lot in these countries. I have spoken to many people who have survived the war, they spoke highly of the regular German soldiers even if they were the invaders, and people hate the Russian "liberators". The Germans wanted to annex countries and build an empire, they didn't want to antagonize the local population. Rape , plunder and murder was punished. The Russians on the other hand plundered and raped, and blamed it on the Germans after the war. Every army commits war crimes, even the Allies were no saints in ww2 or before that ( let's not forget all the countries the British and the French have conquered and oppressed, and the Native American genocide ).
